    • @@pilarq7886Right! It’s VERY sweet. I would be shocked (and not in a good way) to see/hear that someone desired additional sugar! I myself am a fan of the not-milky, strawberry (or most any fruit) agua de fresca. I’ll simply add water, strawberries (I like frozen, to give it a slight slushy vibe), a bit of ice (if fresh, not frozen fruit is used), and a very minimal amount of sugar. I go for a light, refreshing style drink, that is kind of a lightly-flavored, slightly-slushee drink. Light on the sweetener and not a huge amount of fruit. Not a smoothie thickness by any means, but rather just-a-bit more body than plain water has. Mmmmm I want one so much!!

  • It's celebrated by the US cuz the French planned to divide and conquer Mexico, if they happened to succeed, they were going to continue their tactics and continue to the north and do the same in U.S. but thanks to the Mexican people who fought throughout Mexico against them, overcame, weakened and discouraged the French and their allies to abandoned their mission. The French underestimated the Mexican people, because it was not only the Mexican military who fought but also the farmers both men and women.

The U.S. sent funds and aid to purchase weapons to the Mexican resistance, despite engaging in the Mexican-American War 20 years prior and just coming out of the Civil War. According to online sources, Cinco de Mayo was first celebrated in California.

We wash strawberries, cut the stems off, and crush them with a fork in a bowl. Mix some sugar into them then let them sit for a few minutes to bring out the sweetness. Pour single cream into them and mix, serve cold in bowls, and eat with a little soon. It's almost like a strawberry soup, I usually just call it strawberries in cream.
