This tutorial is inspired by the character illustrations created by Olga Semklo, make sure to check her work at / semklo.design

The first step is to find a reference photograph on sites like unsplash or getty images.
Using those images you can start drawing the basic vector shapes that will make your character using Adobe Illustrator 2020.
Flat characters are really easy to create once you practice, so hope this tutorial has inspired you to draw something in Illustrator.

  • Nice work man! If I may give you a tip. You could use the Shape Builder (Shift+M) also for pathfinder motives. So if you want to combine 2 shapes into one, the sahepbuilder makes it lots easier!
