  • Probably the best Ryan's kzhead.infoUgkxGZedDTcDfgD7fG_uU4esfx_EgxzlY2_1 Plans on building a shed is hardly ever found. And Ryan takes the mystery out of different types of foundation options, etc. He even shows how to build a shed with different designs. Very comprehensive, covering different roofing materials, siding, etc.

  • Great book for a beginner . kzhead.infoUgkxD-QRFQz730FJEh4f9BYSf-nkIMIC9hL_ this book really starts from the beginning, as in it explains what basic tools are and how to use them. But when it gets to the art of creating joints and how and when to use them this book really starts to teach you something. At least that was my experience.

  • I bought this as a gift for my friend kzhead.infoUgkxcZqgZ8Ynkiz5n_LxIWRlAicuzmz5kCHG who is just starting out in the world of wood work. He loves it!! There is a great section on different wood and what to use for what kind of job and a similar section for tools as well. The projects in it are things you probably would have a go at with clear instructions, pictures, videos and diagrams throughout. Great for a beginner/amateur wood worker.

  • Amazing creation from wonderful wooden material. I think the guys having all this prepared would deserve better working conditions, in parallel. Seeing from Europe, neglecting some basic health protection standards doesn’t contribute to the full success of story. I worry as much about the length of life of these young guys as much I applaud their masterpiece.

      @cetinagar@cetinagar Жыл бұрын
    • @@cetinagar what stupid rules? I was an inspector and the codes we inforce are for safety reasons of the consumer. For your information, alot of the codes we use here are used in the IBC (International Building Code). The rest of the world has copied our ADA code requirements. Do better

      @dennislopez1272@dennislopez1272 Жыл бұрын
    • @@dennislopez1272 again and again the US shows it’s stupidity. WE THE US are the center of the world and the rest evolves around us (THE REST OF THE WORLD copied OUR requirements) what a stupidity. The rest of the worlds evolved further, whilst the US is going backwards in time. If you read the “requirements” it is another tool for big companies to CONTROL everything and not allowing individuals to work outside these rules, thus giving power to the industry. All in the form of: “we do it for the safety of people. B*llsh*t. Do better.. and think for yourself, instead of letting the thinking do by others

They do what appears to be a great job however they violate a lot of basic principles of design from an engineering perspective. Would like to see the work up close after a change in the seasons and expansion and contraction have taken place. To the novice it looks good but to the true pro it leaves a lot to be desired>

  • I've seen some stair cases in modern homes here in the USA done by CNC that were amazing and so precise. Most of the work is done via machine and then the artisan(s) comes in and does the delicate finish work and installation. All is expensive! However, if you want this level of craftsmanship and more w/o all of the CNC work then it's gonna cost you big time (20x - 25x times that cost) provided you can find an artisan skilled enough to perform the work and you have the time on the schedule to allow for it. There are some good artisans that are younger guys scattered here and there that are capable today but the majority of the really good and experienced ones are much older and are booked solid. One that I know personally works about 6 months out of the year and travels quite a bit and he's very expensive but is also a perfectionist in his work. He's done work in Saudi and Dubai and that ought to key you in on his prices and his talent!

    • it acts as both an adhesive, and also it provides a stable base between two uneven surfaces. It will fill voids in both the step/base and the tread (note the cross-hatch pattern cut into the underside of the treads). Previously I've only seen tar used like this in the bilge of sailing boats. Popular for that application as it conforms to the irregular shape of the bilge, and it won't rust, corrode or react with its environment. But why not use it too install stair treads, too!
