bought the wireless version but i cant change the color and as soon as i open the software it stops working
in my apex probably magnet peeled off from switch in capslock
Still waiting on someone to come out with a desk sized wireless charging mouse pad so I don't have to worry about charging it
if you have any basic understanding on wireless charging you will know that's basically impossible
@@jamesduke151 a computer capable of playing advanced videos games and finding answers to anything that fits in your pocket was "impossible" a few decades ago.
@@jamesduke151 I also don't see how that would be impossible considering they have already found a way to wireless charg electric cars while driving.
It gets too hot, thats why its hard. Apple tried do make a product like this and failed.
@@jamesduke151 only way would be for a specific keyboard and mousepad package to be sold together- I don’t see why they couldn’t make a keyboard with two (hot and ground) contact points on each end that magnetize to a couple of different points on the mousepad- (for different positioning options like 0 degrees, 30, 45 etc)
I have a big issue with this keyboard, it says it’s ps5 supported but it’s does not work at all it registers as a mouse on it. Contacted support and they said it’s a bug but don’t know when it’s getting fixed…. Did you hear about this? Or maybe even better do you know any solutions?
Wish I could help with solutions for you but I'm not sure. That is annoying though. Hopefully someone else can give you some ideas or steelseries can resolve the issue for you.

what if u use this keyboard all the time with wire pluged in and wireless off? is this good for a keyboard or u will damage battery in long time use with cable plugged in?
You can just get the wired version.

@@richardyu5283 to plainly answer the question the answer is no. You will not damage the battery. Been few years now that all rechargeable batteries cannot be overcharged or lose battery life by being plugged in. Ones it reaches 100% it will just stop charging.
So I know that keyboard is wireless, and u have to charge it, but could I just keep charging while playing? Keep the wire on

I buyed the wired version - it was for 160 dollars on steelseries website. So quite a good price! However I miss the RGB custom without the GG software. On my office laptop I am not able to use the steelseries software and it would be nice if I can still change the RGB a bit. The profiles you can change but the RGB settings are not saved to it.
Is esc always blinking while it is connected? Is that a joke?

@@mic4ch Dont have VPN, but there is some problem for sure and i am not the onlyone had it.
i got it like two weeks ago , i prefer the old design, also the rgb customization is limited compared to older model, the oled screen has a vertical white line since like half hour of use. other than these disadvantages i love the wireless thing and the feel of it, and it whips razers ass all day. (iam razer fan boy and i own blackwidow v3 yellow, huntsman v2 analog and tartarus pro analog, it whoops them ass easy) .. ps caleb at the point u talked about them omnipoint switches u show the red linear switches
What's the difference between the old design?

I just ordered one of these, but i've heard rumors of some software issues and glitchy rgb. They werre from a few months ago but I was just wondering if you still experience these issues? I assume steelseries would be pretty quick to fix it
Think I'll get one next year and use it on on my gaming PC while I use my legacy Apex Pro TKL on my capture computer. Cant wait til keyboards have wireless charging and can just charge on a qi wireless pad.
so the keyboard suks.. it resets the actuation time to 1.8 after every sleep/unsleep cycle to 1.8 you can see it on oled screen in keyboard or software if using onboard profile
Uhm, I've been charging this for 3 hours and it went from 20% to 45%, surely this is not working as intended?
bro same i left mine to charge overnight and its only at 70% im returning it and getting something better
Apparently you need to put the switch to the middle position when you charge it with the USB cable connected to the PC. I found this information on reddit, it's a shame that this information is not provided by Steelseries directly
The latest firmware update fixed a lot of the problems this keyboard had. It charges properly now and has a new charge status instead of the blinking escape key, etc.
switches are hall effect not optical ...

Wireless or wired keyboard for you guys?
I would choose Wireless but... **Read this before buying this keyboard!** I've had this keyboard for 1 day, and I'm already experiencing several problems: the keyboard double clicks quite often. The keyboard does not wake up as it should when coming out of sleep. The RGB bug is due to the software & certainly the keyboard as well. If you want to charge your keyboard and put it off, the keyboard stays on LOL. It's great when you want to go to sleep. Ah yes if you load your keyboard, the 'ESC' key remains green. The different color modes do not work on the steelseries apex pro tkl wireless through the keyboard. The different bug modes also on the steelseries software which is not normal. The F key row will flash white each time the keyboard aperates via the 2.4ghz dongel. So, every time you restart or turn on the pc it does it. The keyboard does not wake up on its own, you have to click on a key otherwise it does not wake up on its own. See an iceberg, it's only a simple taste of what you will have as problems. This keyboard is good for playing, but there are so many side issues that in the end it really sucks.

Everything has been done before. the primary use of a keyboard is to write. then we play. this is the first time a keyboard has double clicked so much and it really sucks. you touch the key and you end up with several letters, this is not normal :-) I increased the sensitivity of the actuation, I hope that a future update will correct this major flaw.
@@biboulou28 When you say the keyboard "Double-clicks"; Do you mean in EVERY Program, or mainly ONLINE (here for example)? the reason I ask is because my Logi G910 only Double-clicks AND Entirely misses 10% of every letter I type UNLESS UNBLESS I am in Microsoft Word or som sch pppprogram.
@@RogerThat1945 in every program. I returned the product and took a G915 and a beautiful G502 mouse from Logitech. It's reliable and doesn't do anything weird. Really a shit brand steelseries ^^. Between my first wired Apex pro keyboard which bugged from time to time or even froze while the RGB was still active and the new one where it did not wake up correctly and the keys double clicked or tripled or quadruple clicked it really is a keyboard done for the pigeons^^
@@biboulou28 Hi, bro, do you have this problem when charging your keyboard? When mine is connected with usb, it will charge to 100% quickly. Then I disconnect the usb and switch to buletrtooth, the battery will drop to 85% in a few seconds. Then, I connect it with usb to charge, the battery will go to 100% very quickly, but when I unplug the usb and switch to buletooth, it will drop to 85% again. Do you have the same problem?
45 hour capacity for batteries is too short... 200hour is average acceptable for wireless mouse/keyboard.
Take in to account that the 40hours is wirh rgb on. Without rgb the batterylife will increase towards that 200hour mark.

@@ItsDevonny it works great I still using it right now. If you want to try it out I found out that Best Buy carry them in stock . Go try it there and there are a few keyboards you can try and compare too
no it does not worth 250€. Sure the actuation point is kinda awsome, the 2 point macros on each key is useless. But the main reason is the switches themselfs. The sound is so fucking horrible and so hollow. I have the apex pro tkl and i have opened the switches. There is a lot of empty space inside the switch (cause there are no any contacts). And thats the main reason why these switches are so bad in sound. If steelseries could fill this empy space with someting else, like a soid plastic, i dont know, then these switches could be great!
these shitty reviews feel like a commercial tbh. nothing about this kb is worth 250, however it being on sale for 190 it is up for consideration
