  • Its so incredibly sad how many people slander this man and Bayyinah Institute. He is a fantastic speaker who honestly brought me back to the Ummah. I sincerely appreciate Nouman Ali Khan and the rest of the sheikhs I've come across through him. My understanding of the Quran is that much better because of him. Inshallah people will stop slandering our religion and incredible scholars. May Allah give this man ease and the highest level of jannah.

    • I recently discovered him on YT. He takes on topics that I never would have expected to hear about outside an academic setting. I love his approach and perspective…he brings honesty and realism to his presentations. As a woman who loves Islam but hasn’t fully integrated it into my life, it means a lot to me to hear someone take on the topics he has in the way he has. I hope, someday, I get an opportunity to thank him personally.

    • 100%, Mashallah may Allah bless him and protect him, we need more brothers like him to speak on Islam, communication and perspective is extremely important and he executes these aspects of lecturing very well. The youth and misguided people can benefit from Nouman so much because he very good at connecting with people. So many scholars forget this side of spreading the message and it often falls on deaf ears and is ultimately a wasted effort.

  • Subhana Allah, As a older revert (73 - reverted last year), I can assure you that I am not as was described. Quite the opposite, I have become more at peace, less judgemental and much more tolerant. I believe the reason for this is the help and guidance that I got during my study before my testimony. My observation is that the reason new Muslims get off track and go "extreme" is that there is no formal process for new reverts to learn about the proper Islam. Most of my journey was a self education process and if I hadn't found a brother and his son (blessings on them) who helped me to stay on the right path I would have quit or gone off track as NAK discribed. Had it not been for them and my determination to do research I would not have made the reversion. My point is that as Muslims we must be active in helping those who want to know more about Islam and be there for them. As always NAK has been a gift from Allah and his work including the Bayyinah Institute have a cornerstone of my journey. Ahumdulalah!

    • what a good point! I do think it would help us at this point to organize ourselves a bit. Otherwise naughty people send all of us in the wrong direction! Even if that means that us western muslims do out own thing- bc honestly a lot of the leaders "back home" are more misled than anybody of any religion sometimes.. also so many blessings on you for finding Islam. I don't know if I would've had the strength to do it- I'm amazed at people like you mA!

  • 1. Accept that Allah gives you guidance in the Quran 2. Acknowledge that Allah is going to heal you through that Quran 3. The guidance comes to you 4. Then you realize that Allah don't want to punish you and judge you. No! 5. It (the guidance) is a mercy! Then you see Allah's love, how much He cares, how much Allah is involved in your personal life, by the means of His words ❤️ So, let's gather the treasures in the Quran to our heart and be happy and overjoy with it! Maashaa Allah 😍 Jazakallahu khayr 👍

  • This argument that you made is universal - this argument crosses cultures - as someone that grew up raised by a Catholic, single-mother {whom while i was growing up took me to all kinds of different churches (pentecostal, baptist, mormon, and otherwise)}, I can confirm the truth of many of these pitfalls we experience in our faith by that portion of my life experience alone. I had a moment recently - I cannot put my finger on the exact moment or thought that propelled me, but I remember considering that there was something inside of me (maybe planted by years of always hearing slurs from family members, friends, and acquaintances alike) that dismissed Islam, although I never had any reason to... after all, I was turned off of religion a long time ago, seeing the hypocrisy of my own who claimed to be christian and believe in so many things, but whom I felt little or no respect for and secretly (vocally in my teenage years) resented. You see, both my parents were drug dealers at one point - my father spent most of my childhood in prison, but my mother got into several vehicular accidents over time and found herself in constant pain when at the time doctors saw fit to prescribe many people an inordinate amount of narcotics that got a lot of people physically addicted, my mother included. Not only this, but anyone who couldn't focus or was a bit hyperactive could get a doctor to prescribe them methylphenidate, Ritalin, or Adderall, which she had, but when the doctors stopped giving them to her she got her kids (me) to wiggle and talk just a little bit too much in the psychiatrist's office to get them prescribed to them only so that she could empty the capsules out for herself before she gave them to us. Unfortunately, my mother overdosed on heroin and methamphetamine a few years ago, but fortunately my father is now back in my life and we're both employed, thank God. This is all a long-winded way for me to say that although I've felt helpless and angry many times in my childhood, not wanting anything to do with religion, I've felt guided from one religion to the next and I've spent a great deal of time reading about shamanism of different varieties and every religion and philosophy I could think of in hopes of recieving the essence of something that is true and altruistic and I've tried how things fit into what I've always felt in my heart to be something (God) that is above all things and cannot be described... that everyone at their very best can only point in the direction of. I have been very lucky to have made it this far. I'm a father now - I can't even describe the joy I feel in my heart to see this child grow up - it's amazing, but if I've learned anything at all it's that the greatest wisdom I can carry is but a mere fraction of infinity... something infinitely greater that cannot be described whose wisdom is such that all of existence is but it's thumbprint, as it were, but not the thumb... as if all of existence is being held together. Again, I feel humbled. I'm so lucky to have opened my heart to Islam. The connection I experience contemplating what Allah's word means for my own life and for humanity today, even while I work and am listening to videos like yours and while I'm learning Salah, especially in terms of clarity and fulfillment, this feeling is so much greater than anything I've touched before and, in fact, I'd argue that all of THAT was preparation for this... and it's all being reinforced in-part becasue there are so many arguments that I'm used to having that are being addressed in a manner that is so fluid and logical in the way I consider to be natural, that I'm honestly relieved. Thank you for your existence. I hope to continue my study of the Qur'an and Salah so that I might be a good example for my child(ren) so that they might hear, love, and speak the truth and also to bow, reverence, and stand before Allah's judgment. Allah is the Greatest!

However, in Somalia we used to live in Mogadishu and honestly it wasn't bad (there was gunshots and occasional explosions, but the latter never occurred near our house Alhamdulillah). At the least learning wasn't expensive there cause I used to go to school, ma'had (a school for Islamic studies) and dugsi (a place where they teach Quran from 7am to 5 pm on non school days), all that used to be less than 50 US dollars. People there, especially my classmates, were very engaging and many of them were smarter than I was. I honestly miss those days lol

    • kazakh mustang it's because many Somalis decide to flee from the county, then when they give birth in other countries their children don't want to go back to Somalia and help it because of the problems occurring within it. Running away from a problem doesn't solve it, inshaallah we Somalis will all come together one day and fix our nation together

In fact, every good person/thought/idea has resistance to it, much like Gandhi mentions - 'First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight with you and then you win'.

Wallahi brother, You have speaked about the topics I had been thinking since long. Indeed, every preecher needs to speak regularly on topics like that. You are Masha Allah doing great Sadaqa. May Allah accept your hardwork.

  • May Allah bless brother Nouman. I couldn’t disagree with anything he had to say. Even though i was told not to listen to him. I suffer from anxiety. My life is so stressful and nobody could ever tell me something that would take that stress away. I found 2 things to do to relieve my body and soul from stress. The first is to make sojood and do tasbeeh and when i pray i bonder in the meaning of (Allah Akbar) that we say in the salah so many times and i remind myself that there is nothing more important to me than Allah. God is greater than everything else. However this doesn’t last long. So i looked and searched and came across a thing that if you do it you feel relieved and your fear goes away. It is a kind of worship that is done by the heart. All you have to do is believe and have trust that Allah will make whatever is bothering you the way you want and it is all going to be alright. To have faith in Allah that everything is happening to you is because it is better for you. In Arabic it is احسان الضن بالله. The solution to all of our problems is just at our finger tips but we don’t realize it.

  • The problem with myself is that I'm filled by criticism. People's taunts, judgments, thier warnings and etc that now i even criticize myself a lot. Like if I'm skipping nafil rakats so my mind tells me that you don't pray nafil and you want help and mercy from Allah, you don't recite tauz tasmia again and again before reciting ayaah and you want Allah's mercy? Like these kind of little things turn so big for me and that makes me uncomfortable with practicing Islam, either i follow everything or i just leave everything.... This lecture helped me with that matter and hopefully that won't happen again with me. Pray for me May Allah help everyone who is struggling with their mental health problems, Ameen

  • No matter all hate comments that have been spread about NAK, I’ll always listen and follow him because he has been the tool Allah SWT used to bring me ‘home’. NAK is a HUMAN BEING. He is bound to commit sins despite his preaches and it’s NONE of our business nor our rights to judge him. I’ll always and always love him.
