Hell, i had to pause the video and check the wiki to confirm that indeed EVERY character only has 4 fingers because of the cartoonish style they are drawn in.

    • Finale turn one could be a solid play though, nuking the backliner of your choice easily. Even if Jester gets a lot weaker for it, he's rank 4 and unlikely to get hit

  • I like to put some accuracy on vestal, and then people always seem to forget that judgement also heals vestal as long as it hits. 9/10 times when I need to have vestal heal herself, judgment is the most efficient way to do so.

  • Gunslinger's buckle does reduce riposte by damage by 10% though; that's actually not that big a deal since that translates to only about 1 damage less, I'd say the -5% crit is almost more significant. Against bosses where you know Riposte is going to go off consistently because of their AoE's I wouldn't run the buckle, for hallway fights I think it's fine, but he has some INSANE trinkets (CC set and Crystalline gunpowder namely). Another point in buckle's favour is it makes grapeshot a lot more reliable.

You'll know exactly what supply items you'll need and can drop stuff you don't need as you go. You can also do the backtrack in darkness, which gets you better loot, just be weary of random hallways fights popping up

  • I have been starting campaign after campaign in this game because I can't stand to lose Reynauld, Dismas, or the first Shieldbreaker. The first two are iconic and the third is the character that the game makes you form the biggest attachment with through her backstory. I wish I could play this game without my autism interfering and making me obsessive over random things. I've already beaten it multiple times, you'd think that I would be able to to keep a few specific heroes alive, but always, ALWAYS, one of those three dies! If you ever make a video with more tips on how to keep casualties to a minimum, I will definitely be subscribing to this channel because I need some help. As amazing as this game is, it still sometimes makes me want to smash my console!

  • I wish HWM's grapeshot worked more like suppressing fire. The debuff is incredibly valuable, but the accuracy on it is absolute donkey cheeks. I wish that they had made the accuracies the same and just left grapeshot as a single stat debuff rather than two like supressing fire. I can understand having a three-rank cleave move not apply multiple/major debuffs, but it would be nice if I could get it to hit more than once every three dungeons. edit: I know this is likely mitigated with gunslinger buckle, but I always wind up not being able to get it until late game when my HWM is generally already better kitted for melee by that point. Maybe next save file I'll get lucky and find it at a useful time (or when I'm actually feasibly ready for the dungeon it's in).

  • You know, as I started this game I found that all of my favourite classes were various support classes, usually more fit towards the backlines. Soon after I came to appreciate stuns for allowing me to bleed and blight enemies, and spend that extra turn. As I quickly realized, stress and displacement hurts and is annoying, and is almost always done by the enemy backliners. The result being that I strongly prefer reach over raw damage output. The thought process further reinforced my preference for control and support focused characters.

  • the "no dance team" advice on graverobber just gave me flashbacks to this awful team i built just yesterday. i got abomination just like you suggested here for the blight but i made one fatal mistake. you see, i didn't have a plague doctor for rank 4 and it's the start of the campaign and i'm low on money, so i bring an antiquarian, she also has blight so that's great. and i like using antiquarian defend me on high dodge highwayman with riposte, so i was really excited that i've come up with a great team, until i got into my first fight. i can't explain what possessed me to put abomination in rank 1, but turn 1 of fight 1 started with the abomination going transform because he didn't have anything else to do. sign of things to come. i eventually settled on abomination on rank 3 and highwayman on rank 1, hoping that abomination goes before graverobber for a blight and graverobber goes before highwayman for the lunge so highwayman can also get his riposte going for the defend me. needless to say i don't think there was a single time i pulled it off the entire combo without an issue. during the run i found a +8 first round speed trinket and if i could put it on abomination maybe i could have him in 2nd rank and graverobber at 3rd rank which is the only way i can see this composition working, ensuring that abomination goes first in the first round every single time.it's crazy. it was probably one of the most frustrating runs i've ever had lol

  • Great tips! I find myself using more and more of the tips and tactics in my own battles. Using Abom for the stuns and blight is such a nice thing, the support that gives and the fact that he can self heal both his hp and stress means he is very low maintenance on the rest of the team. Got some good runs with two hound masters, one in the back and one in the front. That way the one in the front stuns and marks while the other can focus on doing damage. Something I would like to learn or hear more about are teams without much dedicated healers or self heals. Basically, how do you build a team that uses food and some self heals and do they work for higher levels or only intermediate and lower? Also been having a lot of fun using Profane scroll on Vestal, any tips for what trinket or team would work well with that?

    @victorhelm6515@victorhelm65152 жыл бұрын
    • For a team that uses little to no healing, bring good damage and reach to make sure you can hit priority targets obviously, bring stuns to stop the big damage dealers from making your day worse, bring a guard to save someone if they get hit super hard, and make sure your camping skills are all in order. Have a selection of healing and stress healing camping skills. Also, bring a recovery charm on someone, so you can switch it out between your party members while they are eating, gives them +40% healing received which makes your limited food go farther.

      @t-e-a6752@t-e-a67522 жыл бұрын
    • I like arbalest/bounty hunter/vestal/hellion for profane scroll use. You still get stuns, control, and reach. It's pretty solid.

    • @@ShuffleFM Profane scroll is really nice, the other day I was levelling a new group of heroes with Vestal being the highest level of them, put the profane scroll on her and proceeded to have her Bonk the whole run. It was really surprising to me how high her damage could be, it was in the ruins so that helped but still. And with the increased prot and healing you can use the group heal and be fine. In the group you suggested I can see how arbalest can be a great secondary healer for when you got some time to stall, in general a very good team.

Is it feasible / better / more enjoyable to go for orange and red missions asap?

    @DagarCoH@DagarCoH2 жыл бұрын
    • It's a bit difficult to answer that, but I'll try. Regardless of what difficulty you play on, the best time to start champion missions is when you have people that are level 5 with max gear/skills. The reason for this is because the jump to champion is pretty steep so you need every advantage you can get. You don't need best in slot positive quirks with all the bad ones purged, but you need to be mindful of what you have. Don't take someone with "fear of beasts" to the warrens for example. You will most likely lose some people in champion if it's your first time until you learn it, because the additional enemies added are big checks to see if your team has enough damage/control. They aren't frequent thankfully.

      @balckdwarf2@balckdwarf22 жыл бұрын
    • For stygian you need strong fundamental skills like target priority and stalling for extra heals. After that it's about making strong teams and being efficient. If you're having a lot of trouble in the early game that's normal since the first 10~ weeks are the hardest part of the game. Vestal/jester/hwm is strong but it lacks reach. Vestal/jester need to stall to be the most effective and hwm is not a good stall hero because of riposte. Hard to say more than that without more information. If you want you can join my discord and ask around, or if you want to record an expedition and send it to me I can review it for you.

    • Sometimes it is. There are a lot of enemies that don't care about getting moved, and some that actively punish you for it. It takes some trial and error to figure out. With that said, moving some enemies is absolutely devastating to them

      @ShuffleFM@ShuffleFM2 жыл бұрын
    • I'm fairly a newbie myself, but I noticed that there are indeed quite some enemies that just can't perform certain actions when moved away from their designated positions. For example, the cultist with armblades (German potato, don't know the og name there, sry) is reduced to a forward step attack causing no bleedings and debuffs anymore, until he gets back to position 2. Also you have to consider the damage output of your group - where can they hit the hardest?

  • Hey Shuffle, this is off topic from the video, but I've heard conflicting info about this and I wanna know if you know the answer. When it comes to journal pages, do they take up the slots of normal loot when reward pools are rolled? I've heard it both ways with people saying you should always take journals just to remove them from the pool early so they stop taking up loot slots, and I've heard people say that journals are rolled separately as a bonus reward so it is safe to ignore them. Do you know which one is correct?

One mistake I have made is developing a party order for an expedition and sticking to it religiously and never changing it and rarely changing skills. It's a hard habit to break and takes an extra layer of strategic thought to get right when deciding a party for expeditions Edit - ah you already covered the HM point :)

  • When you think about it, enemy accuracy reduction (like enemy damage reduction) is a fight long cc almost. You cripple a high threat target permanently unlike with stun which effectively is only for one round. It's not guaranteed but combined with good dodge stats the enemy would be hard pressed to hit you. I'm curious about how a fight with a single large boss would go if you had an antiquarian spamming flash powder eg the shrieker or countess or swine king. Once she gets up to 3 stacks and maintains it, that's a huge accuracy debuff which doesn't just reduce damage, but stress attacks also. Choosing when to do that or vapours spam I guess depends on the fight. The destealth is a great utility too in higher levels

      @ShuffleFM@ShuffleFM2 жыл бұрын
    • @@ShuffleFM eh, of those the only real thing I think is important is the scouting, generally speaking SOMEONE on your team is gonna have trap disarm, and diseases generally are uncommon enough and not debilitating enough to need someone in your team to get rid of it immediately(exceptions for if your current expeditions goal is curing previously acquired diseases) and while the 4th position attack is good, the sheer difference in the quality of the rest of Sb's combat kit is far too much to worry about that, plus, once you get through the nightmares (which aren't that bad imo since they're one of the few battles that you both know is going to be there and what composition it is, plus the rewards are def worth it) she gets a fairly sizeable buff just from camping
