  • I almost regret playing early access because it’s so good but just not enough content! But you can see how painstakingly detailed all the content is. Such a massively ambitious game. I get stressed out just imagining if I was one of the developers of this game because of the work that’s been done and the work ahead. This game has the potential to be one of the greats overtime.

  • Good news, as of the time of this comment, they've added crafting from chests and a "add to similar" key. They also are adding the ability to use weapons that you don't have the stats for (a la Dark Souls) with very diminished effectiveness. They've also made it so that until you beat the first boss, the blacksmith will repair your stuff for free. I'm in love with this game. The world exploration, the player agency in combat, the story and world building, the art style. Just awesome and only more to come

  • I think a cool idea regarding item management would be taking inspiration from Guild Wars 2's "Material Storage". To those who are not familiar with this: It basically allows players to send all of their looted mats directly to a seperat stash with the press of a button, this frees up your inventory and you can craft directly out of your material storage.

    • I agree. I see all that people that played the game for 2 hours and refunded. Or people crying after 10 hours the story end and there is nothing to do. The game has it's issues, but I think most people just do not get really into the game - also because there is no respeccing at all. Or they should change str/dex/int/faith - it's a stupid system yet if you do not know the game and requirements for a casual player (even though it's not better in any souls game). Just seeing that hammer throw ability wants me to try a playthrough with that weapon - maybe change my "cleric tank". But the game changes so much once you have build enabling items (e.g. for focus generation on hit etc.) which makes something like bow playstyle with no costs available etc.

    • Is it a really hard game? Like Dark Souls hard?

      @Mockturtlesoup1@Mockturtlesoup129 күн бұрын
    • @@Mockturtlesoup1 its way more forgiving than dark souls. Especially since theres plenty of healing available. Its not DS hard but its also not mindless combat like diablo or poe. You have to memorize attack patterns and know when and when not to strike. Position is super important as well.

      @ALYXC7@ALYXC729 күн бұрын
    • @@Mockturtlesoup1 Not really. I personally do not like Dark Souls or Elden Ring, but mainly because of the bosses or mini bosses. Not a big fan of this "try again" while I think the general fighting with some more difficulty is fun. NRFTW does actually this: Sure there are a couple of bosses, but the main focus is about fighting normal enemies and grind for loot. I think most people underestimate how game chaning gear can be. Especially early weapon upgrades are multiple times more important than early leveling. Some gear is even "build enabling" for builds like caster or bow is not playable full ranged without some gear or gems. People complain about it just because they do not understand the gearsystem. You barely know the game after 10 hours or just playing the story. There are more than 50 different skills on weapons which may deliver a complete different playstyle. Something like % focus on hit on a spear (or any other fast weapon) completely changes your ability to use skills etc. There is a ton of depth. The game is not perfect, but the main issue about the mid rating is that you are not getting hold by hand and it takes a lot of time to get into it. Also because there are no 1000 guides for builds on the internet like in Elden Ring - while in theory it is the complete same system. If you know or read nothing about elden ring you may also think: yeah sword and shield attacks are everything in theg ame.

  • Great summary, man, and good comments on needed fixes. The stamina was my biggest gripe starting out. Was too punishing early on. Later in the game now, they definitely need some QoL in the inventory management side of things. I'd take crafting from storge before anything else. Then, I'd take sorting storage and dumping the same items into storage when they are in your bag. A search or filter option wouldn't be bad, but if they added a sort and auto stack button, that'd be great. I've fallen asleep two nights in a row moving inventory. I dont mind managing the inventory to a point, but right now, I'm only in tier 2, and it's already getting out of hand. A respec potion or something akin to that would huge. I got a legendary greatsword off the first boss in the game, and after a couple of hours, I went all in on strength. Not having a way to change out of this weapon without just starting all over is pretty dang rough. They can make it costly for all i care, so we can't do it often, but it should definitely be an option.

    @Splincir@SplincirАй бұрын
    • Yeah I agree, but the early game without gear shall be some complete different experience I guess. The main issue is that people do not get deep enough into the game before making bad reviews. I also think that some aspects need to be removed (e.g. real time counter for building, daily or weekly quests make no sense currently / they should another form of activity to do permanently or "level" additionally, everything for inventory or rings should be unlocked from start - it also does not make sense because you can grind them on creating additional realms which is a chore doing the first boss and two weeklys over and over again). Respec should be available maybe at least once after story. Having three agility rings for example completely changes the stamina issue for melee builds. Having 3 focus rings + 6 points in focus + 10% focus cashback on legs + focus let you start with almost 700 focus as caster at level 3 and every ability/rune you use give you 70 focus and let you spam ranged attacks. A bow build can play full ranged with a main hand with focus on hit and ranged etc. 90% of the players do not know that early on and the modern gamer is not able to discover it himself without existing guides. QoL I absolutely agree. Respec could also be able via an XP flasks alternative. Second chars are fine, but horrible implemented (e.g. no unlocks/coins shared between chars, no housing/building status shared beteween all local realms, new char cant play on original realm etc.). Currently it is mediocre fun and does not really fit in the design. You can easily create a second char with gear from main and Xp flasks (4 tier 3 = level 11). In the end the only reason you play another char first is to try out another weapon. Nothing else. Most gear is the same with ANY build (may rings can change). But it is a bad solution currently. I think the str/dex/int/faith should be reworked, mabye cap to 50 but let us level it endlessly independend from character level by using weapons etc. So you can have a class with all 50. It does not really matter because the attributes have only affect on the weapon you use - so what is the point anyways. Having multiple characters is not a solution if you have to regrind everything only to try out a tier 3 weapon. Setting up points just to do not like them (e.g. a tier 3 weapon of the same type has maybe a complete differen animation as a tier 1 weapon of the same type - not only ability.)

  • Great video! I'm loving this game sooo much! My personal fav game this year so far. They really need to group all storage and allow you craft from storage. That would solve a lot of the annoyance. But yeah inventory is annoying. Also they really need descriptions on runes or a spot you can cast runes for free to try them out. Not on the Crucible. They said there will be 8 different ones at launch, but only one is available now so there will be more variety eventually. Also haven't heard anyone mention that your games and characters are all separate so you can have 10 characters in one game moving it forward or five games for one character. You literally beat the first boss and then instantly go new game plus with a new game and your same gear.

Despite the fixed camera, exploration is great and even goes a step further than Dark Souls by including proper platforming mechanics. Combat is rewarding and the art and animations are superb! I'm surprised to see some haters for this, which would be understandable if it were based on performance because that needs a lot of work, but the game itself shows so much promise. They were probably expecting Diablo because of the camera. Can't wait for the next big content update.

I absolutely lose interest in the typical arpg when it becomes 'spam the screen with abilities and kill a million things'. I have zero interest in that, so this makes me very very happy someone is finally sticking to slower more calculated fighting. Good to know you can't de-level. I'd probably still avoid those until max, seen one already (lv 10 now). I'll take these 8 or so distinct bosses over 144 which are actually only 6 who do the same boring predictable moves and aren't really a challenge any day. Plus, the overall variety of the non boss minions seems really great from what I've seen so far.

I only just finished the quest to get the house last night so I didn't realize you could buy more storage chests. That will be useful at least. I started out day one with some unlucky gear drops and was thinking I wasn't going to like this game but with that first update early game weapon and armor drops seem so much better it has been great since then. So far I've found this to be just the right level of aggravating to learn new content and fights but sooo rewarding once you do. I'm not a Diablo 4 bad person. I think it is fine for what it is. But I found myself wishing that D4 had some of the really fun exploration and combat and difficulty that this game has. But more annoying are all those who have been wanting it to be a different game (Diablo V) when the devs have no intention of regurgitating tired old tropes. So that should be a good example of how long it takes to complete the current content with one character. That being said, while I have upgraded a lot of the town I have not fully upgraded it and have barely engaged with furniture at all. It would take me quite a bit longer to get all the resources to finish upgrading the town.

You have the loot (as well as the expected loop of running levels many times) like diablo, has the general 'feel' of V-Rising and combat mechanics like DS. It's not something I would have ever thought of - and honestly, it's genius. The game is amazing. Can't wait for the rest of it.

  • You can reach the first boss in 2 mins. Which is a fantastic icor farm BTW. On a main character you make a new realm, start on beach and run past the fire into the keep. Continue north to the stairs slightly to your left, jump through the window to the water behind the keep and swim east (right) to a ladder. Run a little right then down to run through a passage to another ladded. Climb that ladder, run north to activate the lift. run east again jumping off the ledge into the glade. Run down following the path to the first boss. If you never stop this takes about 2 mins. If you stop for the 3 large chests you will pass it takes about 3-4 mins to get to the boss. Kill the boss, skip cutscene, roll into the city (don't wait for the bridge to lower, you can walk ahead while it lowers lol). Run to the Rookery, skip cutscene and get an icor powerup. Run back through main square to the bounty guy, take the "within the walls" bounty. Run to the war room and defeat the leveled mini boss for a second icor (this one you can place into the shared loot chest.....) After you turn in the bounty for the xp and silver you leave game, select realms, go to the new one you made and press select, or the little button left of start. (us nintendo guys call it select) and reset the realm to the first restore point to do it all again in another 15 mins. All of that takes roughly 10-15 mins for 2 icors and 3 large chests. The XP is surprisingly good esp if you turn in the bounty. Even better if you rest in the Inn for 4 hours before you do this. 8 icor 12 large chests and 8 silver per hour excluding boss drops. The first boss drops a unique 2 handed sword fairly often and a lot of other stuff.

Then in the future, you can select ANY chest and hit store all. It will then propagate all the items to their appropriate chests based on where you were storing things, done! In terms of crafting, It just looks at all your chests as your player inventory, perfect!

As you use your resources on each attempt, then end up having to do the fight with none, which makes it harder still. Amazing atmosphere, with incredible detail really draws you into the world. • I can see this isometric view being much more comfortable for those folk who might usually have a hard time with the timing and positioning precision in third person. Not everyone bounces off soulslikes because of the difficulty demand, some just experience an extra layer of difficulty for that reason. So for them this game will probably scratch the same itch as the 2D side scroller equivalents.
