  • As an author, my biggest tip is to write everything. Do not stop when your creative juices are pumping! Free writing is amazing. Then, after writing the entire manuscript-COOK THE BOOK! Let it simmer for about a month or two. Some will do this for even a year. Then, go back to your work, and that's the time when you edit it. You'll see so many things to fix, adjust, add, or delete. This method has worked for all the books I have written. I wish everyone good luck! Good luck with writing, Jack!

  • Love how he moved to Seoul because of ✨literature✨ Many people move to Korea because of business, Korean entertainment culture and technology. It’s rare to move there just for literature but it’s actually a bliss. The country’s book culture; literature, libraries and book cafes are literally the best ones. You can’t experience it anywhere else. Most people would figured that if I ever move to South Korea, it will be because of the Korean entertainment culture. Don’t get me wrong, I love K-Pop and KDrama but it was never because of that. My love for books is beyond and South Korea feels like a dream for bibliophiles. So happy for him to live the dream

  • I don't want this video to be over!!!!! The music, the views, the editing style, EVERYTHING was sooooo amazing! Also, I'm not sure if this is possible, but for the place that you are writing about you might be able to watch some vlogs from people that went there? Maybe they took a tour of an old building you are writing about, or they talk about the view from a certain point. Anyway, we need more video's like this!! Good luck.

  • I did not know Paju was known as Book City. I remember going there back in 2017 to visit an outlet mall (best highlights for me there were the Johnny Rockets restaurant and the Marvel store!), but knowing how close it was to the DMZ and North Korea actually scared me, because on the drive to and from Seoul, you could practically see North Korea’s “Fake City” from across the river and there were watch towers along the shore (on the South Korean side obvs).

I hope you'll have a great time writing and publishing your book

  • This was a great video! Loved the setting, the guest house looks amazing!, the insights on your writing process…but the thing I connected with most is when you’re talking about musicians after a concert and the come down. I’ve been involved in music my whole life, and the struggle is real. Sometimes I’m really glad I’m not a full time professional musician, because the seasonal concerts are enough of a challenge. I usually have the benefit of several hours after a concert where I can wind down, but I’m always a wreck the next day. Sometimes even a really good rehearsal will do this and you just can’t get your brain to shut down. I like that you’re trying meditation to help with your come down from writing. I’ve recently taken up knitting, and I find there’s a certain meditative aspect to it that I think is helpful as well. I can’t wait to find out who your book is about!

  • Hi Jack! Advise from someone who published her debut last year, for your first draft, don't worry too much about fact checking things as it can ruin the flow. The biggest thing is to get all the words down on a page and as much of the plot. If there are any words you want to use I usually put brackets around them so I have a note to replace it or a note to check this later. When you do your 2nd and 3rd draft you can do a lot of the fact checking then.
