20.2.2024 And thats a wrap. I've now sold this house. You can see the outgoing video here if you like...... kzhead.info/sun/fcdsprubip6ga3k/bejne.html
This is beautiful. The fact that whomever owns it respected the history of this home and didn’t make it “modern”, absolutely was a brilliant move. It looks so much better.
Thank you, exactly the look the owner wanted.
"whoever," not "whomever," please
Agree, it’s beautiful
@@cbwilson2398 ☹
@@cbwilson2398 thank you word police.
Warmth and history emanate from every room of this house and love the squeaky floorboards. So nice to see an old house that hasn't had its guts ripped out and painted grey.
I couldn’t agree more.
You’re right it’s not painted gray…….. it’s painted brown tan and beige.
Agree!
Yes, what is it with grey at the moment, the most drab flat colour 😶
@@sallyanneotton4348 as an agent dealing with lots of interesting spaces, it’s been refreshing to see more people going bold with colours. I think grey might be on the way out.
I am besotted, speechless, infatuated. Never wanted to own a home til this moment. Light years out of my reach, and I'm ready to cry, but this vid has given me great enjoyment. May its owners cherish it.
Lovely comments thank you very much 🙏
Used to work on Brick Lane & it was so sad so many of these types of houses being converted & modernised to point of soulless so glad to see a building been honoured such a dream home & beautifully kept.
Absolutely. Hope it brought back some good memories for you. Thanks for your comments.
The way the owners listened to the house and responded with respectful sensitivity is to be applauded. The use of natural materials and timeless colours seem to straddle so many eras. The walls literally whisper with history and I love it. Thank you for showing us this magnificent house.
Absolutely! If only walls and floors could talk. Thank you for watching
P E R F E C T I O N ! I have never been a money oriented person, it doesn't control my life choices (it sometimes should) and I generally have little respect for fortunes and those who have them BUT suddenly I would like to be rich enough to live in this incredible house that looks exactly like a home I would have chosen and curated! Thank you for allowing me in for a little time.
That’s so nice of you to say. It definitely has that feeling. Laid back and sophisticated but not showy.
How refreshing to see an authentic Georgian townhouse "dans son jus"! Oozing character and charm - so unlike the modern renovations that strip everything away. Thanks for this tour.
appreciate the comment. It's perefct, right down to the squeeky floor boards...
My partner’s ancestors were Spitalfields Silk Weavers, this is wonderful to imagine the space they would have lived and worked with their big families. The Owner did a great job, keeping so many authentic fixtures and fittings along with adding sympathetic wall colours.
A lovely home with loads of character! I am glad that they kept the character to this 303 year old home. Older homes have so much beauty of the past and creative design. Thank you.
Many thanks 🙏 appreciate the feedback
Stunning , respecting history 100% but yet so contemporary. Clever and incredible .
Many thanks! Its a pleasure walking round this incredble home
Took my breath away. Thank you so much and to the owner for sharing his beautiful home with us.
Glad you enjoyed it
Over 300 years old, it's spectacular! I love it! I could cry when I see the soul of an old home destroyed to "update" it. This one is almost untouched. It's a treasure! I'm in Canada and very few houses remain that were built prior to 1800. Saint John, New Brunswick does have a few but a huge fire in 1877 destroyed most. Our house is 100+ years old with original floors, windows, woodwork, and fireplace. I love our creaky floors, treadworn stairs, and wavy bubbled window glass. It's old for Canada but would be considered almost brand new over there! Thank you for the tour.
Thanks for you comments. Your home sounds fab. Simon
My favorite. The paint colors are exquisite.
If you are the type of person who has a great imagination and decorating comes naturally this could be turned into a really warm and inviting home. I wish I had those skills. Thanks for the tour.
I totally agree! thanks for the coment
If you could afford the house, you can afford a decorator.
Such a Wonder to behold, now I want to see all the Neighbor's homes! The one across the street has a Garden on the street-side balcony!
Love the heritage colours, and the simplicity.
Thank you. I'm hoping to get a follow up video on this house next week. I've sold it and i get to explore it when it's empty. Best wishes, Simon
Wow. Stunning home. You can feel the history of this beautiful townhome
Thank you. it's been lovely seeing how so many people here appreciate the warmth of this historic home. Glad you liked the tour
Thank you for the amazing tour and a bit of a background history on this place! The house is incredible
Thank you. I’m delighted you enjoyed the tour.
Enchanting!!! I appreciate the wonky stairs and the sound of footsteps on the original floors.
Honestly one of the most atmospheric homes I've been in for some time. Thansk for the feedback
This is one of the most beautiful, ethereal homes I have ever seen,,,if I had 4 million it would be mine. x
Well, I will keep my fingers crossed for you. Thank you so much for the feedback
Love this authentic, historical home. Just love it🥰
What an amazing space! If only I could afford it I would snap it up in a heart beat. A piece of history that works well for modern day living in a great location. So much natural Beauty and character with no pretence. I have to say this is probably one of my favourites. But then again I say that about most of the properties you show 😊 Thanks Simon
Thank you for the feedback and I'm delighted you enjoyed the tour. More to come......Thansk for sticking iwth the channel
Thanks for showing this very beautiful home. A warm sophisticated vibe is definately felt.
Thank you for you kind feedback, Linda. Simon
I grew up in Hanbury Street in the fifties...as a child I remember the beautiful windows of the old silk weavers houses...
I’d love to hear more about this area from those days. I’ve worked there since the late 90’s and it’s changed unbelievably since then. Goodness knows how it’s changed since the 50’s.
I can imagine it in the 1700s, with looms in the loft, silks for sale in the ground floor, designs tacked in a workroom, and someone cooking in the basement. I also have Huguenot ancestry, but they skipped England and went to Ireland for a couple of years and then to the colonies.
It’s a little piece of history. Thanks for your words.
Speechless, I feel at home, so much homely old time character, dream home .
It really is. Thanks for your kind words
very interesting for me as my family descends from Huguenots in Spitalfields
Very cool! Thank you for the comment. If you're interested in finding out more, you musy visit this place, dennissevershouse.co.uk/ it's even more historic that this house!
Gosh, I love every inch! I am a descendant of Pilgrims, still living 20 miles from Plymouth rock, love this house😊❤
Thank you. Isn't it lovley to see something left as un-touched as possible.
It is because it is a Memory within you! :) Cellular Memory is very strong in a Family Line! Such a Blessing!
So interesting and a beautiful house tastefully curated by the owner. Thank you
if I was a person of means I’d buy that in a skinny minute. Incredibly atmospheric.
Thank you. Glad you liked it. Who knows, one day......
Watching from USA. My ancestors were Huguenot refugees. That Georgian house is lovely.
Hello from London, thanks for your comments. Glad you liked the tour.
Thank you for showing us around a beautiful historic home 🏡
Glad you enjoyed it
Love seeing that some of the house is "raw" and the rest is exquisite. Reminds me of the row houses in Savannah, GA USA. I am past negotiating the stairs, but really enjoyed this presentation.
Really appreciate your comments. Thank you.
Reminds me so much of the homes in Society Hill in Philadelphia where I live. Beautiful house...the floors. fireplaces, woodwork. Would love to live there. Thank you for the tour.
And thank you for the comments. Society Hill sounds interesting. Best wishes, Simon
Perfection in every room👌

Than you for the lovely feedback. Simon
An absolute gem and dream of a house. Thank you.
My pleasure. Thank you.
OMG, that Door could wake the Dead...I am listening in early this morning! LOL
Love the mirror over the fireplace. Love the inset glass cabinets.
Reminds me of the Dennis Severs’ house!
You're so right. Funnily enough we're having a team out to re-vist Dennis Severs house. That place is incredible as well.
An absolute dream of a house in a fantastic area, will be a lucky (wealthy) family that gets to live here.
Even that yard your standing in looks great to me.
What a graceful and timeless home. I’d love to live there!
Thank you. It really is
got quite emotional watching this as my ancestors lived and worked in this neighbourhood may have even visited this house .
BEAUTIFUL ❤️ .
What a lovely home. It would have been wonderful to have been able to see it truly adequately decorated.
magnificient house!
Thank you
Beautiful in it’s simplicity ❤️ & preservation
Thank you so much 😊
The layout and features (esp. in the kitchen) are almost identical to Dennis Severs' House, which by the looks of things, must be very close to this property indeed, perhaps even neighbours. Highly recommend a visit to anyone who loves history, esp. at Christmas time, when they do candlelit tours. This house is its twin!
Absolutely spot on, you clearly know the area. So pleased you like this house. You might be interested to learn that the other house in Princelet Street which was recently used for the, Christo exhibition was owned by the person who owns this house. The style in number 4 Princelet was all his doing.... All the best, Simon
What a gorgeous place! My dream house love the history. I'm a Hugenot, at least my ancestors were.
That’s lovely to hear. Thank you for your comments.

Go for it! Hope to be selling you a home in East London some time soon!
What a wonderful challenge for an Interior Designer and an Architect. What a magnificent property. The best to whoever developes this historic property.
Hopefully not too over developed though. Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment. 👍

I used to live on Hanbury Street Whitechapel end and loved walking along these old preserved streets among the high rises.
How long ago. I’d love to hear what it was like

Absolute pleasure. Glad you enjoyed it
I have the soul of an English person😂😂. I love the entire home!! I can see the history from the kitchen table. I'd love ❤ to purchase the home
Wow! I could almost move to London. Just beautiful.
You should!
Thank you for showing this amazing house. Of course, there's nothing like that here in Australia so I really enjoyed seeing it.
You do have some very distinctive and beautiful Victorian houses though. 😃
Glad you enjoyed it thanks for your kind words
I like the scale of many older homes with good sized rooms and healthy for occupants high ceilings
Exquisite. This is my idea of the perfect home.
wow very vintage! lots of potential.
Thank you. Yes there's sill a few changes you could make, but not too many !-)
My ancestors were Huguenots who made their way thru Europe to America. This is marvelous.
Thank you. Yes it’s been really interesting learning more about this and the Huguenots
Honestly i can listen to you all day long😊
That’s kind. Thank you 😊

Thanks Hugh, hello from London...
Superb Danish design in there :)
Well spotted👌 and thanks for watching.
Stunning. Tour starts at 4.00
Cool
Looks like a perfect place to film a Harry Potter film! Maybe the backstory of where Hermoine’s parents lived
You never know!! 😊
This place is so charming it's painful 🙃
Thank you. Glad you like it!
Incredible. The floorboards creaking were the best! Anywhere to park a car? I suspect not. Just as well. Thank you for this beautiful tour.
There is often some limited on street residents parking, this will cost money, but you don’t need a car in this part of London because public transport is excellent.
Wow. Beyond delightful, and so quiet. I have never seen homes like this. I am from Australia and thought all the old London homes were all dark and mouldy. Good luck finding the perfect owner. Thank you for your efforts.
Thanks for your comments. And hello from London.
