Very educational 👍,really like the Spanish breed. Is there much of a difference with kikos?we are in Canada just wondering if I should cross with cashmere for a bit more winter insulation?
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed! The Spanish are somewhat similar but I don’t think I personally have seen any kikos with the cashmere genetic. That genetic definitely pops up on a lot of our Spanish goats this time of year. We would definitely recommend getting some in your heard if that’s what your after.
So are you doing so.e rotation within that 40 acres? Or because of winter stockpile not rotating? Time of year is also part of it right?
We have a good winter stockpile in this pasture that should last a month after kids are born. After that we will continue our normal rotating patterns into the spring, summer and fall months. We also go out once a week and supplement with 1 pound per head with alfalfa pellets or coastal hay while they are in this pasture.
Is 5 goats ok for 2 acres ?
