    • First bad move by having Ritter on he is a Russian simp and convicted child sexual predator, so very classy on your part. Second how do we know Russia hit anything with their "missile attack" they could easily show satellite footage or done footage of this happening yet they never do I wonder why? could it be because the only thing they can hit is apartment buildings?

  • For Russians the bridge is not a simply bridge. During Soviet union period that was the project to build the bridge between Crimea and the land but that project was refused to build because that was too complicated and they conclude that soil is too unstable. All the time after Soviet union collapsed , majority of Russians believed that it is impossible to beat that period in building infrastructural projects. So, building Crimea bridge is a symbol of unity and proofing the Russia ability to build even bigger project than Soviet union was able to build.

When the Ukrainian ppl wake up & realize that they’ve been used to delay Russia while NeoCons & Israel carve up Syria for a pipeline then they’re justifiably going to hate us.

  • Crimea was transferred from Russia to Ukraine by Krushchev in 1954. He did this in order to help himself become president of USSR. During the 1953 power struggle he was losing support in Ukraine to his political opponent Malenkov who was more popular there. In order to win the support of more Ukrainian delegates he offered to transfer Crimea to Ukraine despite the local population being Russian not Ukrainian. The plan worked and Krushchev was elected first secretary of the Communist Party in September 1953. Crimea was transferred to Ukraine in February 1954. In the finest communist tradition Malenkov was denounced as a traitor and exiled from the Russia to Kazakhstan in 1955.

By standards of European and more especially Asia disputes 250 years is nothing. The Czars also owned Palaces/Holiday homes in Finland, Germany, Poland and after one of them was made Grandmaster of the Knights of Saint John he probably had a nice one on Malta as well. Sadly unable to find a Czarist holiday home in Alaska would access to a hunting or fishing lodge do as well for a modern claim to why Alaska should be Russian?

    • @@rainieresguerra-uw7onnd what proof do you have it is going so bad for Russia? 2ndly Scott Ritter was proven wrong by Putin when the war started as everybody thought Putin would wipe Ukraine of the map. Now it was not and still is not Putin's intent to destroy Ukraine. Lets look at the goals for Russia in Ukraine. No 1: demilitarize Ukraine No 2: denazify Ukraine So Russia has spent time since last year building its defences in the easter and southern Ukraine, Russia strategy is for Ukraine to just throw bodies in the meat grinder, Russia does not have to take ground to accomplish their goals, they just have to keep on doing what they are doing, kill Ukraine army and western weapons till there is nothing left and Nato war mongers finally see that they cannot defeat Russia. Ukraine maybe has 150k troops left from 600k that was trained and funded by the west and Nato. Russia has 750k troops behind the defensive lines, You do the math... People should stop reacting emotionally with Ukraine being attacked without understanding the full history and why this SMO started. Take emotion out of the equation and do research and see for your self when the facts reveal themselves as to why this SMO started

There had to be many feasibility studies, soils (foundations) investigations, and detailed designs as time went on. A competent engineer would have gone through these studies and analyzed them in light of modern techniques. With available money, there would be very few surprises with the finally chosen design. Unlike the three gorges dam, this was a patriotic undertaking. I imagine that the inspectors were actually inspecting and there were few, if any, shortcuts.

Best example of this is the fork dam in Pennsylvania. Built by great engineers, eventually maintained by rich fishermen looking for a place to relax. Until the dam broke and 2 thousand people died for their negligence in Jonestown. This is a repeating element of human history from which the oligarchs of the world seem to never learn.

    • @@soulsreaper7145 Look, I understand that propaganda is not only something in the East, we have a crapload of it too. But when Russia invades Eastern Ukraine and forces an election on people, many of whom have left their homes for fear of their lives and property (and thus, were not even there to vote), it does not take a genius to realize that it was not a fair election. Also, many Ukrainians who stayed there were so against the invasion that they would not acknowledge that Russia had any right to force an election and so they had to refuse to vote. To vote would have been an acknowledgment that Russia was truly offering a legal and fair election. Now, if Russia pulled its military out of Eastern Ukraine, (say in a negotiated peace talk) under the stipulation that all residents of the occupied territories could return to their homes, and then offered a fair and transparent election, even then, I would not agree with you. A foreign power has no business entering a sovereign nation even if the people of Eastern Ukraine asked them to do so. For example, I'm sure that many Cubans would love to be American Citizens and escape their regime and the resulting poverty. Yet, it would be an atrocious act for the US to invade Cuba and annex a part of it EVEN IF THE PEOPLE of the annexed part were in favor of it. In my 70 years, I can only compare this iteration of Russia with Nazi Germany. Russia's atrocity is small in comparison to Nazi Germany, but it is cut out of the same cloth.

  • Two little items of importance that I noticed in the first six minutes. First, Crimea became an autonomous region after 1992, as part of the Russian/Ukrainian agreements for Crimea. Second, Russia stopped using the bridge for military purposes once it had established a land connection precisely for the reason Scott states, that it will then be a legitimate military target.

  • 1:59 absolutely correct...it became the end of the world not just for the russians living in Ukraine but in other Soviet republics, especially in the asian and baltic sea regions...they had to leave everything behind and run for their safety.. Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania weren't physically violent towards russians, and it was a different story in the asian region.
