  • You've quickly became one of the best content creators out there for Newcastle. Another top quality video today. I've heard from a couple of people that the Gallowgate use to be the former away end back in around the 50s/60s not sure if it's true though. Keep up the excellent content and have a great chrimbo and new year ⚫⚪⚫⚪

    • That’s a very good question but I’ve never heard that before… especially as the Gallowgate had always been the larger stand. Hopefully an older supporter will see this and respond. Thank you very much for the kind comment! 🙏🏻

    • @@TynesideLife Aye the Gallowgate was indeed the away end in the 50/60's and early 70's, the main home support was in the Leazes end. An example of this was the cup match against Nottingham Forest which was abandoned following fans invading the pitch, spilling out from the Leazes end.

    • @@malcolm3370 I’m a bit baffled as to why the away team would have the larger stand? Was that particular match not just due to it being a cup match and of high status at the time?

    • I can remember the away fans being housed in the Gallowgate, early seventies. Leazes stand was the home fans, singing end.

I think that might have turned me off doing it at the time because I did the Vicente Calderon one before it was demolished the year later or so and I seem to remember it was affordable, like 10 euro or something whereas the bernabeu one was like 30 euro ? was a quality tour at the old atletico ground, very well done . They rejoice in their club being sold to a brutal, genocidal regime, where beheadings of dissidents and LGBT people are commonplace, and the slaughter of a journalist was carried out before the international community. We have a corrupt government in the UK, which regularly profits from arms sales to the Sauds, so we cannot rely on it to take them to task, which means it falls on the citizens of this country to do it. My Dads got Jackie's England badge, are some hilarious stories of Reg (was my Aunty's husband, my Grandads's sister on my dads side as both Betty and Reg arent alive anymore).
