Pokemon Black and white brought a lot of new features together in the Pokemon series. We got new pokemon, a brand new and excellent story, and the gen 1 mechanic of only being able to use pokemon native to Unova. I will be blunt, I used to hate most Pokemon native to Unova like Garbodor. Oh a piece of garbage, yeah my old self was dumb with certain pokemon choices. Nowadays, I love Garbodor and Trubbish. Lately, I have been able to really appreciate gen 5. So today I wanted to go back in time to show off my original team in Pokemon Black and White. Some Pokemon I loved on that team in Pokemon White in fact they were the only pokemon from Unova I could truely appreciate at the time. However, there are a few pokemon I hate on that team too. Alright, I am done now. Let’s hop back to the days of Pokemon Black and White to relive my journey.

Honestly out of all regions it's easiest to make a team in Gen 5 at least for me I've played BW&BW2 so many times and always had a different team and used almost every unova pokemon and the teams always work brilliantly
Yes pokemon black and white 2 have a lot of diversity This helps the Replay value your team is never the same there are many combinations
No no black and white 2 have horrible team building. They’re my favorite games but I can’t deny it. Yes, there’s so many amazing good Pokémon but soooooo many of them come in really early or really late.Lucario, Arcanine, Vaporeon, Magnezone, Crobat, etc come in before the 3rd gym. Not only that but there’s a lack of flying and water type Pokémon. Whenever I have to make a team in Black and White 2 my head starts to hurt.

@@goatinnabox5776 the only pokemon game that has bad team building is heart gold(many johto pokemon are weak, lack of diversity) and platinum (bad pokemon distribution) and lack of new pokemon many of them were new evolutions of old pokemon

My team was: -Samurott -Archeops -Sawk -Chandelure (definitely my favorite of the 6) -Galvantula -Krookodile I gotta say, I really like that you can ONLY get new Pokemon during the adventure in B&W. It's very refreshing. I'm soooooo sick of Gen 1 being everywhere in every game. It's always Pikachu, Gengar, Charizard, Pikachu, Gengar, Charizard..... so boring. Sun & Moon is literally 60% Gen 1.
I gotta say MU, you reinvigorated my love for pokemon. Your videos showed up in my recommended videos a while back after I decided to check in on KillerNacho and I haven't regretted checking a video since! I've been going through the series again and actually started doing randomized playthroughs for the first time to spice things up a bit. I really do wanna thank you for revitalizing such an integral part of my childhood that I long since thought I abandoned.
My First Unova Team: Samurott Unfezant Zebstrika Sawsbuck (Replaced w/ Musharna) Beartic (Replaced w/ Mienshao) Haxorus My Most Recent Unova Team: Samurott Excadrill Scrafty Sigilyph Chandelure Bouffalant Actually played through BW recently, it's surprisingly kept up quite well for me. This was my 3rd generation and, honestly, I think its underrated! My first team for BW is, to be honest, the earliest team I can remember crafting in a playthrough without outside help (trading, waiting till post game, etc.), so it has a bit of a soft spot for me.
I’ve got to be honest I really did like bw when they came out I’ve always played through them when I get a chance and I didn’t understand why people hated them so I’m glad to see people finally appreciating them
Gen 5 really came through with how TMs weren't one offs, so you were less limited in making movepools for your team.
Gen 5 is the only generation that I've had more than 6 Pokemon in rotation for my main team cause I love so many of their designs and couldn't choose between design and practicality.
Emboar, Simisage, Excadrill, Jellicent, Beheeyem, Braviary. Simisage is actually really decent for a Unova playthrough. Seed Bomb - Rock Slide - Acrobatics - Brick Break? Works like a charm.
I’ll never be able to really appreciate Gen 5, but it definitely offered you a wide and interesting variety of new Pokemon. Had it been like White 2 and Black 2 from the very start, the game would have been more enjoyable. I’m glad you choose Snivy tho, I love that starter. Galvantula is easily one of the best mons in that region too.

Overall great pick (Especially Snivy) but you should get Sigalyth since it’s actually good (Would say Braviary but you get him way in late game which is depressing cause I love that freedom bird) and change Scraffty to Throh. That guy is a freaking tank. It can take a lot of punishment and dish out some insane damage. But Scraffty is still a great pick as well.

When I played Black for the first time I was waiting for Ultra Moon to come out. I freaking loved it! and had seen a few clips from the B&W anime which influenced some of my pokemon on my team: Samurott, Unfezant, Zebstrika, Excadrill, Darmanitan and, Haxorus

gen 5 is my favorite gen still to this day its my fav pokemon games close second is platinum but anyways my 5th gen team was snivy, pidove, darumaka, jellicent, galvantula and liepard and it was super fun using them i have replayed this gen so many times that i have used almost every mon on my team at least for a little while haha but that OG team is the most memorable also the first game i caught my first random shiny in i was going thru victory road and boom shiny durant

@@mannx._1 For Conkeldurr, I would need to trade it from someone who has a DS and is within range of where I live, which there wasn't at the time. For Scrafty, I already had Cryogonal using Night Slash as well as having Chandelure using Ghost Type moves, which covers defeating those weak to Ghost and Dark.
I'm just now playing through White for the first time and I'm really enjoying it! I'm only just past the 4th gym, but these are the Pokemon I've used so far. Dewott Zebstrika Whirlipede Krokorok Sigilyph And I just caught my babies Emolga and Deerling!

My team was Emboar Samurott (yeah i played with my sister, and we breed the starter pokemon for trade him) Zebstrika Krookodile Haxorus Gothitelle
My first team: Samurott - I always loved Oshawott's full line, whereas I only ever really loved Snivy's first two forms. Serperior was...neat and all, but I wasn't fond of it losing its uniqueness for a snake Pokemon: its limbs. Watchog - Yes, I stuck with this guy for way later than I should have. But I loved that it got both Confuse Ray and Hypnosis super early on and to me, it made it a decent Pokemon because of those moves together. Unfezant - Yeah...just like you, I always use the regional bird in my first run of a region. And I...didn't like this one either. But...still stuck with it to the end. Simisear - Yes, I also stuck with this Pokemon. But unlike Watchog, I never really regretted it. I don't really get the hate for its design: I always thought it looked neat. Not amazing by any means, but it was serviceable as a Fire type. Yeah, he's not as good as other fire types, but he did his job well enough and I never hated him. Excadrill - This guy I chose for one reason only: because he looked amazing. Drilbur was great...but when I evolved him, I was in love with this Pokemon. Galvantula - Much like you, I loved this thing the moment I laid eyes on it. And I still do to this day. Although I have other preferences these days, it's the coolest Electric Pokemon in Unova imo, other than the one that ended up replacing him at the very end of the game and for the postgame. Which was.... Bonus: Zekrom - At the end of the game, I replaced Galvantula on my team with Zekrom. And he stayed there. At first, I kinda felt compelled to keep him on my team due to the plot focusing so heavily on you actually capturing and owning him. But as I used him...I just came to love him more and more. I love his design and he was just such a cool and fun Pokemon to use. Zekrom has always been on one of my favorite legendary Pokemon ever since.

Snivy was my first choice in Unova too. I loved its design (especially when it was next to a Cyndaquill I was like Aw twins) it was so cool to make it evolve! My team was composed of Serporior, Chandelure, Zoroark (I got it from a friend who managed to give me an egg in exchange of a Pokémon he couldn't get because he had Black version and I had the White version so win-win) , Braviary, Scrafty and Hydreigon. So yeah mostly Dark types, weak to Bug type and Fighting type, I know... But back then but they looked so cool and I had a great time training them!.. Good thing I still have it! I'm going to restart my game but transfer my old team to the new versions.

I really like your first team. Growing up I always had at least 2 pokemon from the first route on my team and although Unfezant is far from the best, mine served the team pretty well. I think I was one of the few people thst didn't have any problems with the pokemon in Gen 5. I just thought most of them were neat

I was so dumb when I first played white. I released my starter by accident and then just used timbur and it’s evolution for the rest of the play through until I got Stucked At the elite four. And for my defense: I was around 4-5 years old and couldn’t read. Cool video
(Im 13 bout to be 14 quick note and i dont remember how old i was when i got this but i have played older pokemon games) pokemon white was my first introduction to pokemon and ive loved it since, i got it a few months after it came out and its a big reason why gen 5 is my favorite, it has a weird story so buckle up😂 i got a used copy at game stop and didnt know how to reset it so i just went in, i started at clays gym with only a axew, nothing else on my team or in my box, i proceded to go back in the game and catch a few others(i grinded A LOT in this game) and caught a litwick, polywag, magnemite, sandile, and a yamask, grinded all them up to clays excadrills level and demolished him, went through the game and to this day, haxorus is my favorite pokemon because of this, he looks amazing and he destroys everything😂 when i looked up how to reset the game i did and used the same team exept i traded yamask for a pidove and polywag for snivy(i like all three starters but snivy is my favorite) and i loved it, black and white arent the longest but definitely my favorite pokemon games by far(naganadle from gen 7 fights against haxorus as my favorite pokemon though) chandelure, krookodile, and magnazone im still huge fans of, the others are ok or with cofagrigus pretty cool. NOICE, galvantula is one of my, if not the, favorite Pokemon ever made. If I remember correctly my first team was Samurott Zekrom] Trubish something something something (I still had a poor grasp on how to build a team properly.)
Serperior, Excadrill, Zebstrika Haxorus, Vulcarona and Teratuga line. A later playthrough used Scoliped, Gigalith and Stoutland, but don't remember the rest of the team. My last playthrough and the team I have the easiest time remembering is Serperior, Samuroth, Emboar, Eelektross, Braviary and Hydragon.
I remember I had a Genesect named Larry and A keldeo named Jerry, Then my game got stolen, good times...

My Pokemon White Team: Emboar Unfezant Basculin (RIP) Krookodile Emolga Haxorous I actually wasn't expecting to have Unfezant on my team. I had taken it out of the PC to fly somewhere, and was at the last gym. Near there were towers where u fought in double battles. All of my team was knocked out except for Pidove. The enemy pokemon had 2HP and I beat it. Somehow Pidove went straight to Lv. 38 from Lv. 14. It was near the level of my team so I added it. R.I.P. Basculin. I traded it to White 2 and deleted my save of White 2 Forgetting it was in there.

My first team: Samurott Zebstrika (Replaced by Galvantula later on) Haxorus Excadrill Darmanitan Braviary Excadrill and Darmanitan are by far my favourite pokemon in this region.
My first ever team I beat the game with was Emboar and Krookadile, and later Walrein bc I needed a good water type in the post game. Krookadile, Emboar, and Walrein were the perfect core for me as I tore through the post game. Kyurem later became my MVP.

Really liked this video, man! I played Pokemon Black a long time ago and I also didnt know about any of the pokemon in particular. Here's my team- 1. Tepig-Pignite-Emboar: Because I am a fire-starter-taker guy 2. Sawk: Its design intrigued me 3. Tympole-Palpitoad-Seismitoad: I was really surprised by the final evolution and loved it. 4. Ducklett-Swanna: Needed someone for flying and in the end, I loved Swanna. 5. Blitzle-Zebstrika: I absolutely loved the fact of a zebra with electric stripes. I immediately caught it once I saw, and helped me out a lot 6. Stoutland/Hydreigon: I caught Lilipup at the beginning but I started disliking Stoutland, so finally at the victory road I caught a Deino and boom! Ground that guy up to a monstrosity!! I loved this team, thats why I remember it.
Serperior Unfezant Simipour Krookodile Galvantula Chandelure (Krookodile definitely was the mvp in the league, Galvantula was op, serperior pretty much carried the team until Krookodile got to higher level, chandelure was good, Unfezant was okay I guess, Simipour was the boxing bag lol)
I used to be the kind of player who only mainly used my starter pokemon and random pokemon that would help out with a certain gym (then immediately bench), but when I got my ass kicked 10× by the elite 4 thanks to having an OP samurott and a level 40 something vullaby, I restarted the game and made up an actual team, which consisted of an emboar (which was female and I wasn't even trying to get one, and I named her Bakugama after the brush god from okami) female unfezant (I like female unfezant and she put in work throughout my playthrough) krookodile (nicknamed Wani) gothitelle (Nicknamed Psylocke) Leavanny Male jellicent. I murdered everyone with this team. And I nicknamed all my team member, but this was back when black and white just came out so I don't remember all my poke's names

Snivy (favourite starter) Liepard (want to try it, I don't think it gets enough attention) Darmanitan (never used it) Sigilyph (second best unova flying type imo) Emolga (favourite Pikachu clone not counting mimikyu) Carracosta (never used it before)
My first (and only) Unova team was Serperior, Stoutland, Excadrill, Jellicent, and Mienshao. I had a Musharna and a Zebstrika, and I also used a Sigilyph, but they kinda rotated around until I forgot them in the daycare and used Musharna to beat the E4. Then I did like 50 solos with Volcarona to get Fiery Dance at level 100.

I literally just finished playing White for the first time, and my team changed a few times throughout. I ditched my starter immediately because I wanted a more unique and challenging experience Team until 6th gym: Liepard, Unfezant, Lilligant, Solosis Team until post-game: Liepard, Lilligant, Galvantula, Chandelure, Durant, Cobalion (wasn't a main team member but helped a lot in E4) Post-game: Lilligant, Chandelure, Volcarona, Mienshao, Kyurem I quite liked Unfezant but you're right, it does fall off once you get to around the 5th/6th gym. It really needed to be able to learn Acrobatics. I tried to avoid using pokemon I already knew I loved but I couldn't resist using Lilligant and Chandelure.
When I first played White eight years ago, I was defeated so badly in the post game (with a party I hated: Emboar, Braviary, Golduck, Bronzong, Stantler), that even my love for my 6th party member Zekrom couldn't keep me from abandoning new Pokémon games (and White) for 4+ years. Now in June 2019, I am finally replaying the game, knowing there are actually a lot of great Gen 5 Pokémon,, and making sure I do not fall into the trap I fell into 8 years ago.
Gen 5 is my favorite gen, next to Gen 4 so I'll be happy to share my team on White! Emboar (Roy) Musharna (Lavender) Seismeitoad (Treble) Archeops (Hiroshima) Galvantula (Muffet) Haxorus (Ivory) Any thoughts?

Gen 5 was the first time I actually went through a Pokemon game with little to no idea how my team was going to shape up. For most of the game I had Emboar, Seismitoad, Emolga, Liepard, Vanilluxe and Cofagrigus, but Liepard dropped out in favour of Bisharp before the last gym, and Zekrom replaced Emolga for the final battle with N

Fun fact about the Snivy line: According to it's creator, it's design is based on the french Nobility during the rennesaince and refferenced mainly the Rose of Versailies anime and Manga as main inspiration of thier design...so this pokemon is french.

serperior, chandelure, and scrafty were all on my first unova team too (along with zebstrika, audino, and gothitelle/sigilyph). i had galvantula on my second :)
My dream team for unova Samurott with the moves x-scissor and dig to counter its weaknesses. Seismitoad with the move sludge wave to counter its 1 weakness. Krookodile for the moves the best one would possibly dragon claw and with its stats 117 attack stat. Archeops the flyer and the last 6 moves it can learn are all physical attacks and it’s attack stat is 140. Galvantula because I wanted a bug type on my team and I also wanted a electric so it’s basically pretty good because I get a two in one. First Unova Team: Serperior Stoutland Darmanitan Carracosta Woobat Hydreigon
I think Pokemon White was the first game I started a new region with a grass starter. My Snivy was female and I called her Lilith. I got as far as the Elite Four and defeating the champion before starting over. I remember having a Throh on my team, a Seismitoad, a Krookodile (I love this pokemon, always have one my Unova teams), I think I had Swanna on my first team, it's been so long I've forgotten. My final pokemon was the game's mascot Zekrom.
My First unova team: Serperior Simipour Unpheazant/Braviary (Braviary for post game and it replaced unpheazant) Krookodile Zekrom Rapidash (post game) this team was back when i was in middle school when it first came out and this was the first time I used an actual full team rather than 1-3 pokemon

@@adrianobarbosa2196 That ability is nothing if you use it right, plus a base 140 physical attack, pair that with acrobatics, Stone edge, its a pure machine. Its amazing, never gave me issues.

As far as I remember, my team was: Serperior, Krookodile, Gothitelle, Haxorus, Mienshao/Swanna and Scolipede and damn did this team crush elite four.
