    • Need a second mortgage to have a line of Strymon pedals. I bought the Ultraviolet, darn thing packed up in under 12 uses at home. To be fair, vendor took it back and got it fixed, but that's not the point. You don't pay for a Rolls Royce for it to break down at the end of the street. That dodgy pedal has now put me off from buying any more Strymon stuff.

    • @@chrisdaviesguitarit's an electronic piece. They are subject to just dying. You can't judge a whole brand by one specific pedal(physically) out of the thousands of that same pedal, of the dozens and dozens of product lines.unless you go look on forums say, and see many ppl stating the same issues, over a period of time, with no aknowledgment or fix from the comoamy themselves.than sure, that's a problem. But basing the whole brand on one experience is potentially robbing yourself of sumthing great. To not like a brand from one singular experience is close minded It's like someone not liking you cuz you had a bad haircut once.

For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.“ ‭‭John‬ ‭3‬:‭16‬-‭17‬ Only in Jesus you can find eternal life and joy, because He is the Son of God, the creator and sustainer of the universe. He is the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father but through Him. Despite our rebellion against Him He laid down His life on the cross for us, paying the penalty for our sins on our behalf and freely offers us restored fellowship with God and everlasting life. Trust in Jesus for the salvation and safe-keeping of your soul and you have His promise that of salvation-God cannot lie. The moment you believe, that is trust, in Him you are a new creation and have passed from death into life. He will give you a new heart and put His Spirit within you, and your joy will be full in Him. ❤

  • First and foremost, love Pete’s playing, love the channel, you guys do an awesome job at showcasing these beautiful pieces of engineering. I read a lot of good comments and lots of hate comments on price. Here are my two cents for all is worth (maybe nothing), and it goes more to the industry. Us consumers are the ones enabling these exorbitant prices by buying these pedals. If we don’t buy they need to lower or go out of business. Lastly, to my ears (which maybe those of a deaf) there is a point where a reverb is a reverb and, after that there is no difference, it is the modulation that separates one pedal from another. In this case, carefully designed to make its strengths shine more than showing weakness, which was why Big Sky 1 was a huge hit, sounds where (are) so carefully designed and eq’ed that they sound good no matter what you throw at them, that is also engineering. The hefty price is due to such added value, and again, it’s up to us to decide to pay for how much that cost is.

  • This kind of display is called "dot matrix" LCD screen (or OLED screen, not quite sure), basically each character is an array of dots. The old one is called commonly called 7-segmented LCD, where each character/digits are made of 7 or a few more "segments" (it's actually 14-segments on the old strymon one). I think even the old Strymon process audio in 32-bit float, but the ADC and DAC only support 24-bit audio stream. The new one might have 32-bit ADC and DAC so it simplifies things a bit (albeit having more powerful processor already). I'd love to learned more about DSP stuffs actually.

Love the inclusion of impulses and I hope the editing is good as this will live on a shelf in the studio and collect dust while being used remotely. • For £700 I'll keep my regular BigSky. For now. If ever I need a new one though, this'll no doubt be right near the top of the list. Also Nixie for organising patches makes the big box pedals far more useable to me if you're changing patches via midi switchers all the time. Shame the current non-MX BigSky doesn't give out full midi voltages on the midi output port though. Means you can't power a yamaha wireless midi dongle from the out and wirelessly edit your Strymons with Nixie from your laptop on the other side of the room. :/ Can't win 'em all though!

  • I’m really having a hard time with the $700 price. At least in the UK that’s with VAT I assume. In the states, my state in particular it essentially 10% sales tax so that’s the lion’s share of $800! If you look at what other things you can get for that money, guitars, other multi effects, tons of stuff. I routinely pay ridiculous money for stuff but I’m just not hearing enough to justify that price vs the competition or even the older version which I always thought was pricey.

  • If I were the kind of musician who was recording original music in a studio and releasing albums (what's an album!?😂), I would consider spending this kind of money on reverb, because you want a recording to be as close to perfect as possible. Playing cover songs live in a club, this level of rever is not required and it wouldn't even be noticed in that kind of setting. Sounds gorgeous, though.

  • This sounds great of course, but I honestly don’t think it was a good priority in their lineup of pedals. With their big box pedals, I think the Timeline was due for a refresh first (though I’m sure it’s on the way). The biggest improvement on this seems to be dual engine capability to run two verbs at once, but I personally never have the desire to run two reverbs simultaneously. I’d be much more interested in an updated dual engine Timeline, since I do like running dual delays, and the dual engine on the TL isn’t the best. For a BigSky refresh, I would have much rather seen them put the single engine BigSky in a smaller enclosure with the same sounds that’s designed to be run on a midi controlled board. I.e., something similar to the Walrus M1.
