How rice is made
Do you know where rice come from?
I visited my family in Sultan Kudarat, Philippines. It's a rural area where most of the land is used for farming. The main crop grown is rice, and during my visit I was able to observe rice being planted and harvest.
It takes 3 months to grow rice. The land is prepared by plowing, harrowing and leveling the field by machine or the traditional way of using a carabao. Usually one paddy have rice seeds planted to grow into seedlings, which are later transplanted. The rice seedlings are then planted in a straight line.
While the rice grows, the paddies are repeatedly flooded to 1/3 of the rice stalk height to prevent weeds from growing and drained when fertilizer is going to be sprayed.
The rice is ready for harvest when the grain yellows and the start to drop. The water is then drained from the rice paddies during harvest season. The rice is harvested by cutting the rice stalks. The grain is separated from the stalk by a mechanized thresher.
The rice is then dried. Once dried the rice is taken for milling which separates the outer layer. The end product is white rice, which is then ready for distribution

Damn, rice farmers are hard workers. The next time I eat rice, I will stop and think about how hard someone worked to harvest it. I feel thankful.

You know some rice is produced in factories, right?
I was just thinking the same lol
King Kenny yeah but if they didn't do that then you wouldn't have rice
Travis M. I tried it, I’m officially cinderella
To everyone complaining about the man stepping on the rice: the rice was about to be de-shelled, meaning that the outer layer (which came in contact with his foot) would be removed; secondly, before you cook rice, you wash it several times to remove starch; and thirdly, cooking rice involves heating it in boiling water and steaming it under pressure. By the time the rice reaches your plate, it wouldn't matter if the shelled rice had been poured on the floor of a public restroom, the end product would be clean and sterile.
That's why I wash my rice🤣🤣🤣
Can you plz tell how rice grows
@@amiiraahmed8673 Nigga watch the video
Get this man some rice
And besides, the rice is grown outside so who knows what else has touched that rice... mud, bugs, etc... it's not a big deal just wash, cook and enjoy😂😁
I want to thank those farmers who work so hard so that I can have my daily delicious bowl of rice.
I hate how people say eww his feet touched my rice and blah blah while those people work their butts off growing and selling rice to you guys.

Respect, West Indians use rice as a staple in almost all their dishes, interesting to see how it's harvested. Respect to the workers actually anyone who harvests our food that shit is no joke. Went strawberry picking for a day to get some quick cash when I was 13, I couldn't sit down or bend over for two days lol back breaking work..
wow!! I thank all the farmers around the world that provide my family with delicious rice! Much respect!!

Backbreaking work as a rice farmer...
This is why you wash rice thoroughly before cooking.
There is no water-borne bacteria's that can survive the process of boiling, steaming or frying. People care more about the filthy hands that touch food, but not the carcinogenic compounds of the chemicals used to destroy the gnats and fungus in the soil.
Rhys Plant actually there is. These bacteria (archaebacteria) are called extremophiles. They survive extreme environments like hot temperatures, freezing temperatures, and extremely toxic environments like sulfur in deep sea vents. I doubt that any potentially deadly bacteria would be on the rice however you should still wash it prior to consumption.
@@kimberlynnewatkins7688 the only bacteria that are on raw rice is bacillus cereus

i don't like rice enough to understand all this effort. man it's amazing to think about the person who figured all this out and somehow kept it going.
Lol sounds like somebody who is really uneducated and American
Multiple people from various parts the world figured it out dumb dumb
Nowadays with all sorts of grain options, it is understandable to think that but rice has been a sufficient food source in my countries for centuries that it is understandable the amount of effort. I don’t get how some guy just discovered how to make rice, let alone know it was edible and nutritious! I’m not a big fan of rice either but I suppose in more tropical wetland climates they couldn’t grow wheat, rice instead. Absolutely fascinating!
I eat rice everyday and to finally see the behind the scenes of how it's processed is amazing ! Thanks for this!
Luar biasa kawan mengingatkan kembali ketika masa remaja hidup dikampung. Jadi inspirasi. Very like.. 🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹💓💓💓💓💓

Yes it looks like a long process. Farmers are also very dependent of the weather. However, it seems that the technique is different in some parts of the world. Good Luck!
