Wassup Everybody!! I’m finally back with BRAND NEW tutorials!!!!! Today’s video is STANDING HANDSPRING breakdown. I went a little more in depth with this one in comparison to my last one. With five phases in total I have included drills that can help athletes seeking to obtain their handspring.
The five phases are sit & swing, the jump, creating an arch/turnover, transition to handstand, and the finish. Each are important in their own right, so make sure to really dive into each portion of this video. As always I would like to thank you watching and hopefully it helps 😀

  • We are going to start doing these one step at a time. My daughter has been stuck for almost 2 years on her back handspring and she's becoming frustrated. I don't think she is comprehending the movements or shift quite yet. But we will take it one step at a time.

  • PheNOMENAL breakdown. Clear, specific, succinct. And VERY helpful. I will be replaying and studying this video some time this week. 💯 Maybe I overlooked it in my brief 1-play of the video, but how do you help athletes learn the *snap* of the hips? I don’t know what drills to use, nor even the word cues, to explain the snap of the hips for something as basic as a handstand snap-down, which is why I realized it’s definitely not a simple ability. 😂 If it’s in the video, I apologize.

  • How do you overcome the fear of not needing a spot . I know that my bod can do the standing bhs but once no one is standing right beside me I get scared .

    • You can do it. Just keep trying you got this! :) We taught ourselves a bhs at home we used our bed at first then started doing them outside on the grass. We're 6 years old. We're still practicing trying to get stronger at what we do. We know you can do it one day!x

    • Try doing it with someone “safety spotting” you ( standing there without actually spotting you) and you can have them step back every time This works for some of my students but everyone is different
