Oddly satisfying footage shows a string full of balloons being popped by slow-burning paper - as an alternative to Chinese firecrackers.
The fascinating idea was dreamed up by Pham Van Huong Diep who tested it outside his home in Hanoi, Vietnam, on March 3.
The video shows dozens of inflated balloons are hanging from the ceiling after being fastened to a strip of paper.
Once the paper is set alight, the flames rise and burst the balloons before distinguishing itself at the top.
The effect resembles the distinctive sound of controversial Chinese firecrackers which are lit at festivals around the world - but have been banned in certain areas.
Pham Van Huong Diep said he is proud of his great idea. He said: "I invented this myself to meet the needs of everyone whose firecrackers were banned by the government.
''I am sure that it will cause less pollution to the environment and it's a lot more fun to watch. It's good because people can decorate their homes with balloons then use them for firecrackers, too.''
