Not only did Daniel Jones have a bad situation (Zero true offensive playmakers, bad o line, bad coaching, bad front office), he was bad himself when he had a chance to make a good play (missing wide open targets, checking the ball down, misses targets with a CLEAN pocket, staring down recievers)

I think you can make a legit case to classify Mahomes as a "steal." He was 10th overall, yes, but the 4th QB taken. Looking at his body of work, that's what you want out of Pick #1 (or at least, the first overall QB taken in the draft).
He was the 2nd Qb taken.

Lucky bastard though is worth 100 mil and young enough to enjoy that youth and money for a long time so good for him from a IRL perspective

Would it be a stretch if Patrick Mahomes was considered a steal? Idk what his draft value was before the Chiefs drafted him. But considering that other teams before KC were QB hungry yet didn't select Mahomes, and well the Superbowls that cane after, Chiefs got themselves a gem.

Trey Lance? The 49ers traded up to draft him. He stayed with them for 2 years, didn't accomplish much, was severely outperformed by Brock Purdy, and then traded away
I wouldn’t call a massive bust, definitely disappointing. Stats similar to T Law, but thats ignored and T Law hyped up as a Top QB potential. Plus, I don’t think the Giants were the right team for him, and I don’t think many will succeed here at the moment. The o-line still sucks despite all of the draft capital and money thrown at it, plus little explosive talent at wide out. the best receiver the Giants have had over the past few years is Darius Slayton, a number 3 option for most teams

I really don’t consider Rosen or Jones draft bust. Rosen was giving the raw deal in Arizona. He was playing for a franchise with zero talent around him combine with lack of coaching. Then replaced after one year to go to MIA another dumpster fire franchise at the time let go after one year. Now with Jones the Giants gave him zero weapons and a horrible O-Line. WRs are a bunch of role players. No real TE threat. Dam give the man some weapons actually build around him. Most QBs who are successful it’s because the team builds around them with talent. Caleb Williams is walking into a very QB friendly situation.
Fax I get that Jones needs to play better in certain situations but he really had barely anything to work with besides Barkley and he’s gone now

Manziel is a clear pick. Mitch, Daniel jones and sam Darnold are actually no where near busts lol. They’re just guys that haven’t lived up to their draft position. They were underwhelming. Rosen and Wilson are busts though. Lynch, Johnny M, Jamarcus Russell, Ryan Leaf. Like those are busts. Like RG3 isn’t a bust but he never lived up to being 2nd overall.
And that’s not what bust is. A bust is like you completely came in and were awful and was basically out the league in less than 2-3 years. Rosen, Wilson, Kellon Mond, Trey Lance(incomplete) are some clear recent busts. Matt Corral also ig even though he never played a nfl reg game
I will say They have been bad though (Mitch, Jones, Darnold) but not to the point where they’re busts lol.. not even close. Like you can’t even make an argument for any of them being a bust. That’s how sure I am.

Daniel Jones was never really in a good situation with the giants that being said even when he did have time he still made mistakes and costed his team in moments they needed most so I don’t think it’s all on him but it is partially his fault

I been with the Niners, ever since the 3rd game of the ‘81 season. So, I figure I can speak 🗣️ on this. Purdy picked the wrong uniform number(#13), in honor or remembrance of Dan Marino. Nothing against Marino, but #13 is an unlucky number. Marino didn’t win Super Bowl XIX, nor did he ever return to the Super Bowl. I think Purdy needs to change that #13 to #9 or #6. Or ask Joe Montana if you can rock his #16 jersey number. I’m just saying.
