  • I boxed as a kid at brendans. But when I got kicked out of school and turned up to the gym at 8/9am on Monday when I should of been at school. Brendan gave me a litter picker and a bucket and told me to do my footwork while cleaning Newman road. If your not in school you can't box. Someone who truly cared about people and taught boys how to be men. ❤

  • I loved that…Came down to the gym at 10am and there was nobody in,it was wide open…yeah it’s always wide open doesn’t get vandalised…That sort of respect is desperately lacking in communities all across the country..Fair play for those who live in that area

Sad times. Roll back the days where everyone knew your neighbours and could leave your back door unlocked.

  • Can learn so much from Brendan Ingle's life. Sadly there's not many community men around nowadays. I think more needs to be made of Brendan's example of having side hustles to bring in more income whilst working his day job on the building site. But the big one to emphasise is staying away from booze. So many lads having been destroyed by booze or really hurt themselves socially, mentally or professionally because of the devil's drink.

  • Brendan had a huge impact on my life, I wish someone would compile a little book of all his old sayings, stories and philosophies, combine it with some tales from the gym and a bit of a back story of Brendan’s life, that’s a winner. One good memory I’ve got from gym is been about 11 “sparring” with Ryan Rhodes, who heard some change jingling around my pocket (I think my grandad had given me change to get a drink from the drink machine), so Ryan tipped me upside down in front of everyone and shook all my coins out.
