Sabalenka 0 double faults. What an awesome improvement! Shes playig her true level finally.
thats how you win tournaments
She is so consistent right now.
Agree.
And she still needs to, or has room to, improve her serve. I love my girl so much.
the AO win really gave her that confidence booster. In my opinion she might end this year as number 1.
🎂So sweet of Sabalenka to remember Coco's birthday and gift her a nice tasty bagel.
Lol
Idiot..😂
😂
Hahaha

Gauff's main strength seems to be good movement and consistency, which has got her into the top10 to be fair to her. But she has a tendency to be a bit predictable. Against the best players she does get blown off the court quite easily at times.
No way she is one of the top 10 players in the game (despite the ranking system) and she proves it again and again. Just as Trevisan isn't really a top 25 player.
looks like a qualifier against the real players
@@johnnythunder196 agree 100% how in the world is Coco still even in top 10. How do they calculate it because it needs an overhall
Weak serve and she doesn't have the swing to blow those freebies down the open side.
She is consistent in being a crappy player.
Love the dominance from Sabalenka. Nice to see top players reach their potential. Hope she remains consistent
Grand Slam Champions keep advancing and that's great
Not just Swiatek who hands you bagels Gauff.
Sabalenka is a beast …she has massively improved her serve and with that lethal FH …she ll dominate the WTA tour 🔥
she looks like a beast and screams like a beast so no wonder.
are you forgetting that 1GA exists?
I don’t think any one individual will dominate honestly, I think it’ll be a mixture of the top girls.
I think Iga Sabalenka Barbora Rybakina will be top girls this season
She is really a beast
Sabalenka is so elegantly powerful - I hope she wins the whole thing! Congrats Aryna on your wonderful match today - it was a pleasure to watch!
"Elegantly"? Ahh... I guess you enjoy loud screeching and huge moans. To each his own!
Tbf her strokes are fairly elegant, but other than that,no
Saba was on fire!! Coco is strong but she hasn’t changed her game at all in 4 years
She has made big improvements on the serve, on the backhand and on the movement.. forehand has been looking a lil bit better as well but yeah definitely need a few changes against such players
I watched Coco this year during the early rounds and in practice at IW. Her forehand technique is so bad, that she tends to hit it off the back foot. Her FH grip and the big wind up are technical flaws that her team need to fix before it is too late.
@@beaglesrfun5896 I've been wondering why they haven't addressed it yet.
So, you're saying that Coco is still playing tennis like she was when she was 15 years old? LOL
@@beaglesrfun5896 I love the social media coaches. They have all the answers. She is obviously doing something right with her forehand grip to be in the top 10 of the WTA. Gimme a break.
So Coco strategy was to outhit Sabalenka😢😢😢I would have loved to see her slice more keep the ball low and angled away from Sabalenka Strike zone or even chip and charge
yah few times Cocoa came to the net she got good points. its like MLB players who only want to hit home runs and not bunt
Sabalenka on 🔥🔥🔥. If she keeps up this form, even Iga will have problems.
Aryna won against Iga on their last encounter, hopefully they clash on the final this time, they both are in great shape
@@lowroar5127 Hopefully it's Aryna vs Elena in the final. If Iga gets by Elena, then we will likely see Aryna vs Iga, even though Kvitova (if she beats Maria) can give Aryna trouble. I can't see Cirstea giving Iga any trouble.

After Sabalenka hired that bio mechanic guy to help her serve and forehand, she has turned into a completely new player. With that kind of consistent serve, she can compete with Iga now.

Sabalenka became my new favourite female player..she's humble, respectful and her improvement are amazing I saw many people focused on her screaming part and I think that those are the ones without any respect and clue about what Tennis sport is Keep it up Aryna Support from Italy!
The most Dangerous Top WTA Player - Aryna Sabalenka 🇧🇾🇧🇾
Gauff has benefited hugely from soft draws in almost all tournaments thanks to her high ranking, which allows her to regularly reach a QF or SF which in turn gives her more ranking points. The Year End Conference also gave her ridiculous number of points, even though she lost all her matches. It's a system designed to keep those already at the top at the top, with little chance for the lower ranked players to move up. Gauff regularly beats easy opponents like Bonaventure or Bucsa in the early rounds, then loses the minute she faces a real top 10 or even 20 player. At 19 she just doesn't have the power to keep up with fully grown hard hitting women like Sabalenka, Rybakina, Swiatek, Ostapenko and the likes. She has to rely on them to have a really bad day to beat them, like Kvitova in Doha last month. Still, it's very impressive that she went to 6-4 in the first set.
This...right....here......
It reflects the current disparity of players in WTA - to me the top 4 are Swiatek, Sabalenka, Rybakina, Krejcikova and then the rest are some distance away. So it becomes easier to reach the QF if you dont meet any of the top 4.
@Andrew this is very true. Yall preaching in here!
just like with Nascar the name of the game is to accumulate points. Don't hate the player.... I'll let you finish that sentence. Coco doesn't make any rules or draws. 2nd You compare her to the other players in the top 10, what standard are you using to gauge her progress? Coco literally just turned 19 three days ago. Sabalenka is 24 just got her 1st slam win, Ons Jabeur 28 no slams, Jessica Pegulia 29 no slams, Elena Rybakina 24 only 1 slam, Maria Sakkari 27 no slams, Caroline Garcia 29 no slams, Belinda Bencic 26 no slams, Daria Kasatkina 25 no slams, Iga is will be 22 in May & has 3. Two of which came in the last season. So when you suggest that those other players are better than Coco right now and have to have bad days for her to beat them well until today she was 3-1 head to head with Sabalenka. Thats a lot of "bad days" against CoCo.

Speed is not enough. Coco needs at least one more weapon. Sloane was just as fast in her prime but she also had a killer fh. Coco needs an additional weapon.
Agree. Her backhand is better (sometimes) than forehand. In general, she has no powerful weapons against top players.
Yes, she like David Ferre Men tennis
@@mingwu4331 Coco's backhand is waaay better than her forehand all the time. Not just sometimes. Her backhand is actually one of the best in the game. Until today Sabelenka was 1-3 against Coco. This has been one sided alright, but not in Aryna's favor. Coco does need more consistency & power on her forehand side tho'.
I don't know if Coco and Sloane are good comparisons. While Sloane similar relies on her foot speed and defense, at her best, she is a better tactician, smoothly mixing up tempos and unleashing that topspin forehand
@@briankeith9584 Sabalenka was 1-3, but with the fixes to her serve and forehand Aryna is a different player. Those three losses mean nothing now.
Love me some big Saba!! Always happy to see the back of Gauff.

What a match for Aryna, great form. This will be her year 🔥

@@joannab7403 It already is. She’s the AO’23 GS Champion, and it’s just the beginning. How can anyone be so mean to a humble and hardworking athlete like Aryna? Just choke with your envy, poor loser
Nothing personal against except for the unbearable screaming. That's unacceptable from the opponent's point of view. One day I'd like to see WTA come out with some regulations. It's not only her but still...watching games muted? Not the same.
Good tournament Coco! Hold your head high teenager in the top 10. Keep progressing you are amazing. Sabelenka was just too good this day. Let's hope she can keep that same energy and level in the next rounds.
Coco only in the Top 10 because WBm stripped all the points. Rybakina is just 1 rank under Gauffs now and should actually be up in the top 4 with the WBM points
@@kevinpatrickcarey3741 Coco is 2-0 versus Rybakina. So BBQ Rybs is sooo lucky she hasn't run into Coco much or her ranking would be even worse. So count your blessings dude, and pray she continues to avoid Coco.

Coco looks so helpless when playing an elite player…she is young but it feels like she has plateaued. I think the real advantage of her age should be taken in a way where she takes some time off to completely chance that forehand. Her return game looked bad too but when your confidence is low everything else falters. I just think it starts with the forehand.
I agree with you 100 percent, she has reached her plateaued.

Totally agree. Moreover, nobody around her has any idea what she needs to progress. She doesn't have a tactic other than waiting and hoping somebody shanks up a short ball. She has #1 potential but the clock is ticking and her point construction is kinda maxxed out right now.
Time for a new coach/team.
Too much firepower for Sabalenka.

@@kasiaxxx8141 Pożyjemy, zobaczymy.
Gauff fans can talk about her next serena but she doesn't have the forehand and her serve is not always lethal. You can't become atg without a forehand. Even if she wanna win multiple slams, , she need serve and forehand of osaka
She herself has admitted forehand is weakness, but she says it's improved and happy with it. So far this year, hasn't evolved much, still glaring weakness being taken advantage by opponents. She needs new coaching, you right, defense is getting her near finals, but when she meets top ten player, forehand is exposed.
@@masibee she isn't going to win battle against iga topspin, or power of forehand of sabalenka
Any Serena fan will say Gauff is nowhere near her level so idk where that claim is coming from. If anything, Gauff's style is more like Venus. But still, probably not her successor either.
how do you feel about her forehand now?😆
Gauff’s forehand is constantly being attacked for its unpredictability. She should improve and make it as her weapon. Her backhand is outstanding
It is seriously flawed technically and requires extensive retooling. That's a big job. Fixing it would require an enormous commitment and a lot of courage on her part--a willingness to lose matches and ranking while redeveloping the shot, with no guarantees of success. I hope it happens, as she has the tools to be a number one player, if it wasn't for that forehand.
I hope Gauff isn't too disappointed. What can you do against Sabalenka when she's in a good day ? Honestly...
i dont think she's too dissapointed. Shes beaten Sabalenka before but now shes a GS Champ so it's not a surprise that she'd play well on hard court. Gauff is changing her playing style from being a defensive baseliner to being an offensive baseliner I think Gauff's career will look a lot like Venus who won her first slam at 20.
Not get bageled in front of her home crowd is what she could have done. She's getting worse not better. The most overhyped played i've ever seen should have been out against the crap qualifier Peterson in the last round. Sabalenka took out the trash.
she should be thats how you DEVELOP. if your not disappointed you LOST and ended up look like a scrub yourself might as well hang up the racket
@@alexpiper1115 dont see it
@@johnnythunder196 yep only the woke fans of Puffs will never be able to see she is regressing not improving. Coco struggled with low level players and qualifiers the entire week despite being put into a very easy draw. She should have DOMINATED these low level players like Iga does not 3 set marathons
Ive said this since Coco's debut on tour, she needs to develop a huge weapon. Whether it be a huge serve or forehand, etc. She's done well, consistent results, GS finals, Top 10 but to compete with the top elites she needs to have that killer instinct and weapons. Watching her against Peterson and today's match; too defensive.
She can't play aggressively with that forehand and keep it in the court consistently. Her grip and her swing are mismatched. You can't flatten out a western forehand with a long, lateral swing and consistently hit the court with it.
@@charlesfaure1189 and I agree with that completely. I think it would’ve been better for her to start to develop a more continental grip on her forehand. She’s 19, tough to change but not completely impossible.
@@saintAJ219 Semi-western. That's the most-used forehand grip in pro tennis. One bevel over, which would be 'more continental' than full western.
Great playing🥎🥎♻️nice game.
aryna plays electric tennis when she is on fire .. the shotmaking the power even some good handskills here and there when needed just too much to handle for most players .. amazing to watch 👏👏
Go Go ❤
Let’s go, Aryna! Very solid match! And also, sending a huge respect to Coco, you are the future 👏
I like Aryna more now, than in the past. She definitely changed - mentally. But I don't like that she often mentions that the crowd was rooting for her opponent, not her. I mean - who's fault it is? Fans have the right to decide who they want to support.
She's changed mentally because she brought in a biomechanics consultant to fix her serve and forehand. You can't be confident when you can't count on the two most important shots in tennis because of fundamental technical flaws. Her lack of confidence in them was entirely justified then--not fundamentally emotional issues at all. With the technical flaws now fixed Aryna is showing what she can do.
@@DJC67 finally someone with guts to say it
Great control of the match from Aryna, and it was great to see Coco make it into the QFs here.
Sabalenka can take this title. she stays calm, great first serves ....hope she gets it! 🏆
She can afford to be calm now because she brought in a biomechanics expert to fix her serve and her forehand--a great move by Aryna and her team. What had been thought to be a mental/emotional problem was in fact a technique problem. It isn't possible to be mentally strong when you know you can't count on the two most important shots in the game. Now she can, and it's wonderful to see.
Sabalenka is strong, Iga will have to fight hard when it comes to the match
Just a diff level from these elite players
Sabalenka is definitely on a roll....always had the shots, but in the past lacked the emotional tools to be consistent: not these days. Look forward to seeing her vs. Swiatek
Sabalenka is a beast and playing like this, will be hard to beat here. I love Coco but she seems passive sometimes, and her grip on the forehand, players zero in on it.
what was the score on the noise monitor for Sabalenka? God ...
Aryna is on fire this tournament. I would love to see her win it
Aryana sabalenka is a beast❤️🔥

Арина лучшая.
The Best Sabalenka
Is it me or Saba is turning into Kvitova a bit personality-wise? I really like her overall attitude this season. W/e she's doing, it's working wonders! I've never seen her more consistent.
Everybody needs to calm down on Saba. She still has the same High risk, high reward type game. Where she can go on a roll when the balls are falling in. She's always gonna hit a ton of winners. You just have to withstand them. She's still not that athletic & if you can get her to flip her hips on the baseline winning the point becomes a lot easier.
@@briankeith9584 She brought in a consultant who showed her how to fix her serve and her forehand, reducing risk and increasing reward on the two most important shots in the game. With the technical deficiencies resolved her 'mental issues' have disappeared. (It was bad technique causing the stress, not the other way around.) You might take note also that high risk-high reward describes exactly how Serena dominated women's tennis for fifteen-plus years and was still challenging for majors when she was both old and grossly overweight. Aryna is not the same player she was six months ago.
@@charlesfaure1189 I'm not denying that she is playing better. It remains to be seen whether her mental issues have "disappeard." Yes she won a GS but we're not even halfway thru the season. Anyone can keep it together in Spurts Sabelenka IS NOT & WILL NEVER BE SERNENA. I Can't even beleive you fixed your lips to even make that comparison. 2nd the difference is serve was the best ever. While there many who hit the ball as hard, there's noone who places their shots better along with the disguise in her toss. 3rd Serena was an exceptional athlete. If her high risk game was off. She was athletic enuff ro remain in matches ne playing great defense a run down almost anything. Conversely saba mives okay. As I said she lumbers around the court. If you can get Saba to flip her hips & run parallel to the baseline or even moving towards the center, the net the point is yours. 4th Serena has 14 GS Doubles titles. She was awesome at the net.
Gauff is good but simply not good enough to win Masters 1000 or Majors
yes. yes. yes... sir. you are so right about that

Well done Aryna 👏❤️
Coco got baggled today. Sabalenka was unmerciful to her opponent
Coco unfortunately doesn't have a flying attack plan (like Raducanu). Not aggressive enough! She finally played the game of Aryna who is full of confidence... So the verdict is final. But congratulations to both of them for the sportsmanship they showed on the field..
Gauff still needs one more stage of devs development. She’s close.
Coco weakness is well known to everyone on tour, her forehand, it's really bad. She has barely improved it. Her defense and athleticism can get her to quaters, but once she meets top ten player she gets beaten.
her forehead is so weak
It's too bad, really. That she wins as much as she does tells you how good she could be, if not for that fundamentally flawed forehand.
@@charlesfaure1189 that's what separates the elite from the middle of the pack players. The Elite have big weapons and some weaknesess. Coco is just average and has one major fault (forehand).
@@t1.5 There is not a single player on the tour who would describe Coco as 'just average with one major fault.' That major fault is what makes her second tier--which is still far above the average on the tour.

can Sabalenka bageled Coco Gauff in the 2023 US Open Finals 🏆🎾🎾🎾
It’s craY because I get frustrated with Coco but I forget how young she is and how much her body will develop. Considering that she’s going to be very hard to be after a good 3-4 years of playing these kinds of matches. If she stays healthy and keeps her head these matches are what she’s needs. She’s cleaning up her forehand as she plays with the bigger hitters. They need to be giving her more of that in practice and I’m not talking Pegula.
dont see it
Dude she has been in tour for 4 years now, it's mental. Less experienced players have win slames these past 4 years
Her forehand is dismal. It’s improved but not good enough. She is hit off the court too. Coco has a lot of work to do.
@@deusexmachina9776 It’s idiotic to compare oneself against anomalies. The only reason we even know about her and that she’s not stuck in qualies is because she’s a consistent winner on the tour. However, this match reminded me a lot of the Emma match. Emma got lucky and had a magical slam. Once players have your number it’s a whole different ball game. Emma said herself she needs to develop her body more to compete week after week. Coco is almost there but I agree she can do some things to speed the process. If she lives the game she has more than enough time
@@ObservingtheMatrix how is Emma and anomaly and Coco is not? 15 year old kn tour is normal? Mmmk. And mind you coco had chances to win at RG 2021, it was wide open. Also the whome everyone having your number, like seriously... that means coco should be losing left right and center since being top ten means being a target
There is only one way to beat a hard hitting opponent with no weaknesses. You have to some degree match the speed (otherwise you will run as a dog) and most important you have to move him move him, you have to move him move him, you have to move him move him, you have to, move him.

I love Coco but to rise to the next level she has to workshop her forehand. Bring in experts and get rid of the slapping and late contact. It almost caused a loss in the quarters to a much lower ranked opponent. And the whole tour knows to attack the forehand as eventually it breaks down or falls short.
with that kind of "victory" might as well have been a loss.....
Thank you I got attacked last week for saying that 😂 it's like she hits it late most of the time & it just loops up.
Coco seemed tired, but was undoubtedly outplayed. Credit to Saba. She's playing the best tennis of her life. She has Iga's number 1 spot in her sights. A good match spoiled only by the dumb commentator, who needed to have kept his personal bias to himself!

Maybe at one point the likes of Gauff and Pegula need to choose what format would they be focusing on. Playing both doubles and singles may not be fruitful in the long run. Both the formats need a different thinking through. I see this only in the WTA that some of these top players instead of focusing on one format plays both.
