Philippos of Greece weds Nina Flohr in Athens

(23 Oct 2021) The youngest son of Greece's former King Constantine II wed a Swiss billionaire's daughter on Saturday in a ceremony in Athens.
Philippos tied the knot with Nina Flohr at Athens' Orthodox Cathedral as large crowds gathered outside the venue.
Several foreign guests including Spain's Queen Sofia, the UK's Princess Beatrice and Denmark's Princess Benedikte attended the wedding.
The couple had wed twice before Saturday's ceremony.
They first exchanged vows in Switzerland in December before holding another wedding in the UK months later.

  • Rest In Peace Your Majesty🙏 I have followed your life since you were the Crown Prince. I couldn’t imagine what it would be like to be such a young king. I’m seven years younger than you, my birthday is June 2 also. I was sad when you had to leave your country but hoped you’d regain your throne. Perhaps one day your people will want a monarch again and ask your family to return. May you rest and be happy in heaven.

  • Former King Constantine back in his home country to celebrate the wedding of his youngest penniless son. I remember Greek governments that would not allow him back in the country (not even for a short sentimental visit) that he (thought he) had to leave after that childish 'flush' of disobediance of his towards the then Military Government under PM Georgios Papadopoulos in December 1967, who didn't even take this infantility seriously. The former King ever since has suffered from his self-inflicted wounds, it is as silly as that I'm afraid.😕😕

    • He's the youngest son of King Constantine, the last King of Greece. (Constantine is the old man in the wheelchair.) This was newsworthy because it might be the first Greek royal wedding in Athens in more than 50 years, when the family lost the throne and went into exile.
