    @josephwalsh988@josephwalsh988Ай бұрын
    • I use a Hawkeye fish/depth finder on my kayak. Got it from Amazon for the purpose of knowing how deep the water is. Outside of that, I agree with you 💯!!!

      @jakebryan955@jakebryan955Ай бұрын
    • I definitely would be cool with it getting banned. I'd even be cool with side imaging getting banned. I will also agree that it changes the fishing aspect of it. Feels more like ice fishing than open water fishing. However, to say there is no skill involved, I will respectfully disagree on that.

      @RiverCertified@RiverCertifiedАй бұрын
    • I accept that. I may have been a bit hyper-critical saying that there is no skill involved. One of the issues I have with it is being used in tournaments (bass, catfish, etc.) is because it's definitely an unfair advantage. This is the same reason I don't hunt over bait for deer or bear, and I don't agree with sight fishing bass off of a spawning bed. It removes a bit of the requisite skill set for actually fishing. This is just my opinion and if anyone wants to use FFS that is perfectly fine with me, but I will stick to depth finders and water temp, moon phase, time of year, and a little luck to help catch fish. I mean no disrespect to anyone using FFS and have several friends that use it, it's just not for me.

  • Don't know about you but it just seems like anything you eat on the river or creek bank tastes 10 x better than it does at home in the kitchen. Great video bud.

  • Awesome video! He said that the flathead was a little too big to eat. Why is that? Do they taste bad when they are big? I’ve never caught flatheads.

    • You wanna keep the fish in the 5 to 15 lb range due to the amount of fat, toughness of the meat, and also mercury levels in the fish.

    • Glad you enjoyed it man. For me, they take so long to get big I don't like killing the larger ones. Plus, the older they are, the more contaminants they tend to have.

  • Live scope is so fun. You literally can throw some baits out and play with the live scope on the side. I watch lake trout guys use this tactic. Pretty fun.

    @droningharry@droningharryАй бұрын

  • Many moons ago I was out with my dad on his friend's pontoon, parked over his friend's favorite Channel Cat spot. Same bait, same tackle, almost the same vertical presentation, except I was jigging just a little. just a tiny bounce that the Cats loved. Maybe moving the bait an inch or two. Our Captain demanded to know what I was doing different. I am laughing on account of he is right there watching what I am doing, so as a joke I told him no. He really got pissy about it so I just flat out told him to learn how to catch his own fish. Now, the whole time he is watching me catch fish, could plainly see what I was doing, but "if had been a snake" couldn't see what was in front of his face. Long story short, he told me that I was permanently banned from his boat and I laughed about it which made him even more mad.

    • That's a little funny and a little sad your dad's buddy was that insecure about fishing. I've only seen it happen a few times where somebody gets upset about getting outfished. I try to stay away from those people.

  • I think you're far enough south where you're gonna want to be super vigilant about the tick bloom. We call them "seed ticks" in the spring, and you can wind up with hundreds of them the size of a pinhead on EVERYTHING. Invest in some permethrin.
