Dustin Poirier KNEW he needed an INCREDIBLE KNOCKOUT vs. Benoit Saint-Denis | Daniel Cormier TV
In Daniel Cormier's most recent check-in interview with Dustin Poirier, DP told DC he NEEDED to put on a big performance in order to get himself a title fight with Islam Makhachev. And Poirier RELIVES getting knocked out by Justin Gaethje. Plus, don't miss why Dustin "The Diamond" wanted nothing to do with fighting Benoit Saint-Denis at UFC 299 when he was first offered the bout.

Dustin poirier just keeps proving me wrong 😂 props 👏
Dustin is such a nice guy, not to be cocky or boastful... Humble fighter❤
DC and DP we love you !
Nothing but skills and grit. What a warrior. ✊💎
Dustin Poirer is a legendary man, just like DC 😊
Poirier is such a massive contender. I just dont know if he can match makachevs dagestani wrestling. Kinda cool he looks like he hasnt fought, not a mark.
How can you not love this guy 🙌🏾
The creole guy and the cajun guy talking about the french guy
That final right hand, as it turned out of that wild exchange, looked so f+ckin' painful! Of course it dropped the Noble Frenchman! Anyone would've crumbled under that!
LMAO 😂😂 DP said " he got a silly whippin"
Why post old vids
We love Tio Danny
Hey, DC! Dustin! LOUISIANA, baby! 🤘 Also: Doesn't Livvy Dunn go to LSU? Respect!!! 🙏🐯
Can’t loose a bunch of title fights and after 1/2 wins get a title shot
Just remember what khabib did to this man and gaethje and what they are doing to the rest of the division 4 years later.
Dude stfu. Dudes been gone for fucking years.
@@albuquerquehotspot7835you mad cuhh?
Khabib married his cousin.. be quiet
That was a lucky win by weightbully Khabib. So he quit without fighting any rematch
Styles makes fights. By your logic khabib would knock Saint Denis out. Lol
His resume alone is insane, imagine if he KO’d Islam, became champ and rematched Gaethje to finish the trilogy.
Imagine the amount of copium you will smoke after he gets finished by makhachev
How do you put DP in front of Gaethje for a title fight after being finished in the second round by Gaethje. Who does DP fight to earn the chance at the belt before Gaethje gets a shot at it if he beats Halloway?
@@MidgetPunter Justin is known for not fighting often because he likes longer preparation time, Justin is fighting in April. Islam wants to fight in June. Justin won’t do a quick turn around for the title shot knowing this is probably his last chance at fighting for the title. Charles and Arman are also fighting on 300. They won’t do the quick turn around either. So the only option is DP, or the laughable choice of Benny. Either way I’m not saying DP absolutely deserves it, he’s just really the only viable option. So chill.
Might be closer than he thinks. Islam is calling for him in June.
He is more than one win away and he has got to fight contenders and stop ducking obvious fights that he sees as dangerous.
What contenders has Dustin ducked? His last fight similar to Gaethje fighting a guy lower ranked wasn't to just beat up on some young kid that didn't belong in a cage. Imagine if a higher ranked guy doesn't fight any lower ranked opponents....there would never be a fight. You think Dustin ducked a contender but chose to fight Gaethje because Gaethje was seen as a warm up and easy work for Dustin? I agree Dustin shouldn't be fighting for the belt if Gaethje beats Halloway, if Halloway wins then Dustin would easily get the title shot but I think you're a fool if you believe Dustin is ducking contenders. The guy he just beat is a problem for most of the other 155lb fighters. I'm still curious who Dustin is ducking.
@@MidgetPunter You must be a serious casual not to know. He ducked Beneil, Arman and Gamrot.
@@lukemurray4950 Dariush and Arman aside, would he even fight Gamrot? They're teammates. Gamrot's even said the only reason he would ever fight Dustin is for the belt.
@@alessandragonzales8190 Because he is one of three top contenders he is ducking. Okay fine you can have one of the three but you can't duck them all and claim your not ducking. That's my entire point. You can't make excuses or say "put them aside. The guy is just making excuses.
@@lukemurray4950 No no, I'm just saying to leave Dariush and Arman aside because we already know he ducked Beneil (as in the fight was actually offered and he said "nah" because it "didn't excite him"), I was just curious if you think he and Gamrot would actually fight if that was offered.
old af content
Justin is next sorry
Nah. He won a close fight against Fiziev, is 1-1 against Dustin and fighting max next, a guy who Dustin beat twice
He shouldn't fight Max and then he would be next. But since Islam doesn't want to wait and DP is available, DP is next.
@JopJio except you leave out the fact Gaethje finished Dustin early in the second round and when the next available fight for the belt comes up both Gaethje and Dustin would be available. It's not like Dustin fought 3 months prior and would be fighting for the belt a month after ufc 300 when Gaethje fights Halloway. Dustin takes fights with a 12 week camp, Gaethje is good on an 8 week camp so you could wash the fact Dustin fought a month prior to Gaethje. I could agree with you if say the ufc wanted the 155 fight for the belt in May but that fight likely isn't gonna happen until June or July. If Gaethje beats Halloway like he did Dustin Gaethje would have zero issues fighting 2 to 3 months later for the belt. Imagine if Dustin beat gaethje in their last fight and people were saying Gaethje should get the next fight over Dustin, you'd be losing your mind simply because your a bigger fan of Dustin. The business side of it is that the Gaethje Halloway fight on a Tuesday at 3am will sell better than Dustin fighting Makachev. I dont believe beating washed up mcnugget increased his fan base versus what Gaethje does when he fights. No one can name a boring fight that Gaethje has been in besides when he made Vic look like a damn fool in the first round.
Him and Max are gonna beat the hell out of each other, no way Justin is ready to in June when Islam wants to fight on the Saudi card.
I apologize to anyone reading this I'm a weird guy, Im probably an idiot for saying this but its my life goal to be an actor & model even though I'm a 23 year old in nursing school (I make no sense as a human) If I ever do achieve my dream and make it I would love to eventually write a script and its going to be inspired by the fight that happened between Eddie Alvarez & Justin Gaethje (The Most Violent Man bout) . For some reason that fight in particular is very special to me. Looking back watching the buildup to that fight watching their interviews back then and who Justin & Eddie were in their careers at the time for some reason I just find it special. It's NOT going to take place in the modern world as that's been done before many times. It's going to be in a made up imaginary world but it’s still a world of "human combat" per se. Again I know I'm an idiot for putting this out there but I never said I was smart to be fair. I might be a coward and delete this later I'm also sorry for that. What’s does this have to do with what DC is talking about I have no idea and I also apologize for that! But what does anyone think about that does anyone have any fights that is special to them?
