  • The brass pieces are folding tabs to ensure that the nuts don't back off.

  • Tony I have to say I did laugh when you mentioned the wheel build. I was so relieved when I finished my wheels 32 rim bolts, 32 wheels that were in 2 half's making 64 plus tires🤣🤣 I'm at the same point you are at I literally dry fitted all my suspension yesterday and thread locked everything. I have a build log on the forum, I must admit I have had to ask for a bit of advice along the way. Interesting to see you have built your wheels to the hubs I've left mine unbolted to make painting easier. Loving the build going to look cracking when it's finished.

    • Thanks Gary, yes the wheels! never thought I would finish them...just seemed endless at the time and I only had to build 16. I decided to build in this way as thought there would be a lot of masking to do to prevent paint build up. I was able to prime and paint the inside of the rims with no real hassle but before installation to the axle...relatively easy as the paint keyed perfectly for me. Sounds like you are making rapid progress with your build...did you go for all the option packs as well? I know they were struggling with supply on some of the electronics...hope that is now resolved. I will check out your build log on the forum as well...Happy New Year to you and your family and thanks again for your continued support, it means a great deal to me...

    • @Tony's Workshop I have gone for everything except recoil as still on the fence as I don't think it works as well as it should. Panther us different from the tiger as you need to build most of the suspension first before you can build the lower hull around itif that makes sense. Going to build some smaller sub assemblies today regarding suspension bump stops so I can get it all ready for painting next weekend hopefully. Should receive the packs in the next month or so. Hopefully you can persuade the boss to let you have the M26 the turret casting looks cracking, I see they have got most of the lower hull assembled. And Happy new year to you and the family I love the fact that you get them involved in the project.

  • Your doing a grand job with that kit Tony, you seem to have the right mind set for the job. Still not convinced about the quality of that kit though, any CNC machine operator worth his salt would remove swarf and coolant build up after the machining process. Apologies for the negativity but I would expect better quality control from a kit at that price. Look forward to the next installment.

    • Thanks again and I really appreciate the supportive comments. No need to apologise, I don't see it as negativity just constructive observations and yes for the cost of these kits they could improve that side as well as providing a list of fixings and components required for each stage, rather than having to study the diagram. Hope you continue to watch.

  • Turning into a family affair build with your father in law help .Good thinking to label different size axels Tony . Are the wheels solid or is there a rubber band inside like the real wheel has?

    @steve1315@steve1315 Жыл бұрын
    • Hi Steve, Thanks yes he is a great guy..time served apprentice carpenter and I have learned so much from him...The wheels are solid, however they simulate the ridge where the rubber cushioning inside the steel wheel would be on this late variant. Kind of glad as that would have added another 20 mins on the build of each wheel 🙂

  • Watch out for the hubcaps jamming on the thread of the hub,i had to buy a tap to clean them up

    • Hi and thanks for watching and your comment. I had a similar problem, but got round this by cleaning, cleaning, gentle sanding and more cleaning..kind of went down a rabbit hole with it...I should have bought a tap as well, but in the end they worked out. Thanks again for watching my videos...
