  • Great video. Concerning sql databases, typically the buffer pool caches commonly accessed file system blocks rather than query results. Some databases have a cache of results or even intermediate results (I.e., outputs of parts of queries often run or easily cached).

  • But critical systems have mechanisms to immediately invalidate cache so data is always intact. While ones made by average developer doesn't which can lead to a mess.
