In Minecraft Java snapshot 19w13b the illager raids were rebalanced. Higher attack waves are now much harder with the attacking mobs using highly enchanted weapons. In this video we defend an open village on hard difficulty with bad omen effect level 5, currently the hardest difficulty raid you can get in survival. Enjoy.

Just some advice for some people but, wolves are really helpful in raids especially in high numbers because they follow you around, unlike golems

Boy, that looks pretty hard even with fully enchanted diamond armor, considering the fact you almost died a few times... Still, that gives a great overview of what to do/what not to do during a raid.

Suggestions for defending a village during a raid: - Bring some dogs, not all of them of course, they are going to be risking their lives for this, and bring some meat to heal them up. - Of course, Iron Golems - Build a small outpost with a good view of the house entrances, maybe close to the bell for better scouting. -Bow and Arrow is probably your best weapon during this raid - Have a cow around, you’ll need the milk to remove potions - have some splash potions or tnt ready for explosive damage (bring water if you don’t any destruction) - If you need some distractions, bring some snow blocks to make snow golems, they will throw snowballs for a good distraction
To my knowledge. 1. Iron golem can sometimes attack you if you accidentally shoot him or attack him. So it risky. 2. Although dog is very good. You still get target by vex because they can go underground and attack you without getting hurt but sometimes. 3. Small post does work and it very good to snipe raiders from tower so you can see them and take care of them easier. 4. Yes, it best. Bow are good to killing a raiders. 5. Yes, it good if you are getting poison or slowness by witches. 6. Although this is good. It's very risky since you might blowing up your village. Splash potion does work but they deal low damage though. 6. Snow golem are good for distraction. It can slow down raiders to go into the village. That all to my knowledge. :P

If y'all are in a Taiga biome tame a lot of Foxes, put them inside a large fence, hit and lure the Pillagers inside the fence and let the Foxes do the rest.
A wall surrounding the village helps.
Plan, you need wolves and iron golems for help, some snow golems for distraction if it is possible in a place, a song wall, good armor, tnt, ghast balls, arrows and tridents effective cannon and traps. Shields and totems, for protection with your armor, effective swords, bows and crossbows

@@scouttf2143, they are useful, tridents' cannons and arrows' cannons, the tnt and fire ball cannons must be with security and just attack for them, and when you make a cannon you prove it, and then when you see the arrows, tridents, ghast balls or tnt, you place a block that can be a guide of the shot, and when you see them in the point that you put, you shoot.

@@scouttf2143 then again your idea would work.. but mine is this.. just put a giant ravine around the village so when they try to get in they will fall right through.. and oh to get out of the village put trap doors around the pit and only put them up when you want to go out when you in the village put them down so anything that tries to get in falls into the pit... its just like the old classic dark age trick when they put huge ravines around castles and filled em with water but no water in this case just a pit or a pit filled with lava would work even better!

@@ZhuyithNuristani Yes, the higher the bad omen level you have is, the greater the chances for illagers to spawn with enchanted weapons (on level 5, basically 95% of illagers will have enchanted weapons), enchanted crossbows for pillagers, enchanted axes for vindicators and (in theory) enchanted bows for illusioners, but these don't appear in raids, (vexes can have enchanted swords, but it only depends on game difficulty, not on the bad omen itself) . Enchantments are usually sharpness 1-2 for vindicators, unbreaking 1-3 and/or multi-shot for pillagers and (in theory once again) punch 1-2 and/or power 3 for illusioners. Sorry if I've written a lot, I wanted to be accurate

I should mention the way I approached defending this village is not what I recommend if playing in survival on a world you care about. There are much safer ways to defend a village. That said if you want to have a lot of fun with a raid and run around like an idiot without the shield, then go for it! It is a real challenge in the higher rounds :).

New challenge: go to The End, build a fake villager house under 3 block from end portal and put villager inside, block the house, then spawn ender dragon, then get yourself a bad omen effect, go to the area of the fake village, you will get a new challenge: fighting ender dragon and raid at the same time.
But also try to see if a Snow Golem can trigger a Tripwire by throwing snowballs through it. Maybe this can have some... technological applications.

Building a high enough wall along with rows of berry bushes below would be very helpful during raids since Vindicators could never reach you and you can just keep plucking arrows down to the raiders.

yeah raiding is very hard if you have an unaltered village. but if you have a high up building with villagers, you can beat that raid easily. i did that, but it almost cost me my life.

It was quite hard to beat the raid the first time round for me, so a few tips would be getting a full set of iron armor and iron sword at least, have enough food to keep your hunger full, and target the stronger mobs first, such as witches and evokers. Pillager's arrows are easily blocked with a shield so best prepare a shield if possible. Ravagers are easily countered by finding a deep pond or river and maybe build like a dirt platform to stand on top of while attacking them, since the ravagers will not attack you in water they will just sit on the banks, and they move pretty slowly so you can target them last in the wave. Vindicators hit hard btw, so try to keep your distance with them. It should be pretty easy if you knew how to fight them unlike me when I first fought them in a raid. Hope this helps 😁

@@pigs4Pigs you're welcome 😀, btw if you're gonna start a new world you can try out this seed 1361003786. I'm not sure whether this seed generates the same world on other platforms but this was a random world I generated while trying new things in creative mode on the bedrock edition. This world was so filled with structures like villages and temples that I went to start a new survival world in it. There is literately a village near your spawn point, a mushroom island right next to the island you spawned on (visible from the edge of the village), and on the other side of the mushroom island there is an ocean monument. There are so much more desert temples, villages and 2 Illager outposts (I found two so far, one of which I used to farm raids in the village next to it) if you continue down the direction where the spawn village is from the spawn point, with another ocean monument right next to one of the desert temple. Strongholds are only around 1000 blocks out, with a second one right next to a mineshaft around 2000 blocks out. There are lots of open ravines as well (fell into one while ridding on my horse, was not fun trying to get out). I highly recommend this seed if you are keen on exploring the new villages as there are so many villages located within viewing distance of each other (going into creative first can help you locate them better just in case you miss out on any generated structures). Again I'm not sure if this works outside of bedrock edition but it was exciting to get such a good world through random generation.

If you have put a 4 beacon with 4 tier blocks 1.Resistance II 2.Strength II 3.regeneration I 4.Haste II Plus conduit for extra melee speed put it in plains covered with water when your conduit is off just swim neared to youre conduit so you could get conduit power and also can damage enemys. Thatsy bonus to beat it so easily but hard to loot.
Actually Haste II + full conduit power = Haste IV increased mining speed and melee speed.
