Hoover Institution Director Condoleezza Rice discusses the chaotic state of the international system, citing the reemergence of great power conflict between the declining disruptive power of Russia and the rising power of China. She also discusses the additional challenges posed by new technologies like cyber, synthetic biology, and AI, as well as the weakening of globalization and the international system prior to these great power disruptions.

  • Well. The American exceptionalism comes out all the time. 'We are sitting with, we, we we' ....That's part of the problem we have today. America grow up. The World is changing. 4 - 5% of the World population cannot dictate to the World..The US should top to be so arrogant.

  • Was Ms. Rice not the Secretary of State when the US invaded Iraq for the search of "Weapons of Mass Destruction" that never existed ? Which has caused the life of thousands of people for no reason, including the extinction of the governments in Iraq and Lybia which has caused destibilization and an uproar of terrorism in the Middle East like never before ? So this is wise statesmanship ? Well, I understand now why the world is as it is.

  • Catherine wasn't "Great" to Putin, not because she was a woman, but because she was not Russian born. Condi messed up on a number of historical facts, sad. "The Ukraine" was once a region in the Polish/Lithuanian Commonwealth which was not an "Empire". While right-bank Ukraine belonged to the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth until late 1793, left-bank Ukraine had been incorporated into Tsardom of Russia in 1667 (under the Treaty of Andrusovo).

  • Last attack in US soil until 9/11 was the attack on pearl harbor in dicember 7, 1941. So the last attack is not the war in 1812. Unless you don't consider Hawaii a US state.

  • Condoleezza Rice appears not to understand that Eastern Ukrainians are culturally Russians first and Ukrainians second. The obvious solution to this issue was to give Eastern Ukrainians autonomy within the Ukraine, Just as Scotland and Wales have autonomy within the UK. Likewise, there are autonomous regions within The Russian Federation. The US refusal to allow this is what led to this war. Why? because the US, for geopolitical reasons wanted to initiate a civil war in ethnically divided Ukraine that would lead to a proxy war with Russia.

    • Today the premiere of the modernized FAB-1500 took place. The Russian Aerospace Forces have been waiting for this product for more than a year. Russian scientists, engineers and designers managed to solve this problem. The problem was that the bridges and other structures in Ukraine were built by the Soviet Union. These bridges and dams are of colossal strength and are designed for war with NATO. No one imagined in those days that they would have to bomb their “own” bridges. The Russian Aerospace Forces did not have high-precision, powerful and cheap ammunition. Now it is. Mass deliveries were planned for October, but the Russian military-industrial complex had already accelerated and was 2 weeks ahead of plan. FAB-1500 today destroyed a bridge and two Ukrainian Armed Forces crossings. And today the updated Lancet hit Ukrainian planes 70 km from the front line. This is a record. Previously, ammunition of this type could reach the enemy at a distance of 40 km. Now 70 km is not a problem and maybe this is not the maximum possible. Russia is building up its strike weapons. And of course, captured samples of modern NATO weapons provide new ideas for this. Looking forward to ATACMS and F-16... :) 36 Reply

    • As a whole planet! But we have not followed Christ. We have gone after idols and turned our backs on God, and even let the schools our children go to get taken over by those who hate our God. and what happened when Israel did that in the past? They ended up in slavery. And that short of a MASSIVE world awakening, and God's own intervention to fight for us, is where we are headed. We are headed towards slavery to a new world secretariat like a planetary politburo that will have total control and effectively turn the world into its slaves. So pray and speak out while you can. God bless you and protect you.
