  • I worry less about four legged animals than I do two-leggers nowadays.

  • This is the paramedic in me but you are forgetting one vital piece of equipment for safety man. A HELMET!!!! You can't call us for help if you are suffering from a TBI man. Its the one thing people forget that will actually save your life! Love the video as always. This wilderness ones are really fun to watch. Protect the melon.

  • Matt I been watching you for years man and just your whole demeanor of being calm collected and relaxed is so infectious on my worst days when I pull up one of your videos my whole mood changes and feels like I’m kickin it with an old friend. I’m in the bay too hopefully I can run into you one day. Keep doing you man

  • I officially nominate Matt for a guest appearance on the Meateater podcast. He brings a different prospective to the outdoor/hunting & fishing world; a city boy just trying to relish in what mother nature provides. And while producing great video content.

  • Great caliber choice!! Many people are not familiar with the the 10mm cartridge but this caliber is a powerhouse round that falls into the Magnum category. My Glock 29 is my EDC (Everyday Carry), my Glock 20 is my backwood gun, and my Glock 40 MOS is my big game/dangerous game hunting gun.

  • I use the Hard Cast Flat Nose rounds in Idaho while in the woods; Hollow points may work on a bear without a fat layer (such as right out of their den in the Spring) but otherwise the hollow point will splatter the fat layer and may not not penetrate into anything vital... and it really aggravates the bear! I really like the copper Lehigh projectile that is loaded by Underwood. You have the best cinematography of any KZhead sports channel... your layout and angles with your drone are the best. Thank you!

  • The blood line you reference is actually the kidney of the fish. I've spent over 40 years romping through forest and wilderness areas in the West and have never felt the need to carry a firearm for safety. All of the bears I have encountered have tucked tail as soon as they realize you are there and the only lion I've seen is when it crossed the road in front of me. I'll carry bear spray in some areas like in Grizzly country. I only time I carry a gun in the woods is when I hunt.

  • Let’s all appreciate how hard he works to give us good content by making footage from every possible direction from even under to car from aerial view

  • I have a G22 .40 cal that I take with me into the woods and at night on the delta. Partly for wild animals like bear and mountain lion, but people too. It's definitely a necessity when you go into remote places alone. Just another tool in the bag.

  • What is bad about protection? Nothing! It’s smart and a right. And, when I was living near the Shawnee National Forrest in southern Illinois yrs. ago when I was fishing for big bluegill I always used crickets. Chirp chirp.

  • Once again another great video. Only suggestion is to wear a helmet when cycling terrain like that. One wrong rock will send you flying resulting in head trama. Your family will appreciate the helmet to protect you.

  • Nice. I have been watching your videos for over 5 years now and I am so glad and relieved to see you arming yourself to protect your life in the wild. You can never know if or when a 4 or 2-legged creature is out of its mind, bent on making you their next kill or meal will be just around the next bend of the trail. It's better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.
