🥩 Red Meat vs 🐔Chicken. What's Better for Fat Loss?
Which s better for fat loss? Chicken or red meat?
The quick answer to this is red meat. A lot of people will disagree with me but here's why.
Ruminant animals have four compartments within their stomachs, each possessing a variety of processes for digesting and absorbing plant material which is high in polyunsaturated fatty acids. This cumulative digestive processes allows them to turn polyunsaturated fatty acids into saturated fatty acids, which is a good thing and why beef is high in saturated fat.
Chickens have one stomach and aren't able to perform this conversion like cows and as a result, they end up storing more pufa in their fatty tissue, which isn't great. And people in the US are consuming more chicken than ever - about a 4x increase since 1965. www.nationalchickencouncil.or...
But we should really be trying to reduce pufa consumption. Ultra-processed foods are the main offenders when it comes pufa consumption, but high chicken consumption probably isn't helping much either.
This is the biggest reason why I prioritize beef consumption over chicken consumption. It also tastes 100s to millions of times better. And give me a follow if you want to lose weight without counting calories
White meat and red meat are basically no different when it comes to cholesterol as well - pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/31161...

Bros got beef with chicken💀 (pun fully intentional)
😅😅
Underrated
Pun keeping you big as hell 🔥🔥🔥
This guy sounds like a salesperson for the beef industry. Of course chicken is unhealthy when it´s breaded and deep fried in vegetable oil. But grilled chicken breast and thigh are the best sources of lean protein, unless you want to spend thousands every month on filet mignon. Use cheaper, fattier cuts of beef, and the calorie count goes waaay up.
Making your own filets with rump isn’t too expensive, but it tastes awful after a while. Also idk if i would say chicken is the BEST protein source. Lean Turkey breast and tuna are arguably just as good, but beef just lacks compared to them. Better than pork, at least lol
Not true, the fatty acids in chicken meat are terrible. The omega 3 to 6 ratio in humans nowadays is already terrible and chicken contributes to it.
If you eat fatty beef to satiation and zero carbs, you will loose weight. How do I know? I tried it.
U really picked an expensive cut like filet mignon as an example 🤡
@@GDN_Dan Because Filet Mignon is the only cut of beef that's comparable to chicken or turkey breast when it comes to macros. Other cuts are either hard and chewy, or are too high in fat.
So pufa gives you a fupa? got it
Exactly
Overconsumption and lack of daily exercise causes fupa, polyunsaturated fats are still better for you than butter, and saturated fats. Still best to reduce all fat intake as much as possible but fat that stays solid at room temperature isn’t healthier for you than something your body can process with liquid then sweat or piss it out. Saturated fats are much harder to burn off.
right 👉🏿
@@ToffeeTango1Saturated fats are full of nutrients like vitamin E, pufas are just toxic
Lolol
You didn't even address the fat loss aspect haha. This video should've been titled "Which animal has the most stomachs? Cows or chickens". Because that's the only accurate bit of information. What is better for fat loss...? Being in a calorie deficit! Stop overcomplicating it with jargon, you're not making any valid points.
This. People gotta stop being fooled with unrelated science
Clearly you don't understand the science as well as you think you do...
@@DigitalSteel please elaborate 🤓
@@lanceleefer8175 you think weight loss is no more complicated than calories in vs calories out... but the biochemical processes involved in converting food into tissues and energy are far more complicated than that. If it really were as simple as just 'being in a calorie deficit' then nobody would ever be overweight or suffer from metabolic disease. Calories are a measure of heat energy after burning matter. Its relation to nutrition is practically useless. Average people have gotten this wrong for a very long time because they do not understand the base scientific principals in their full context. Advertisers love to promote the idea that it is all about calories and nothing to do with what you are eating... and it is why people are still fat and sick, and regularly getting worse over time.
@@DigitalSteel First, it’s not about what I think it is about the laws of thermodynamics (energy can’t be created from nothing). Second, fat loss is due to calories in vs calories out. Weight loss which you refer to is very different… Many people assume they are losing fat by cutting out sugars when they are actually just losing water weight. We are all aware a calorie is a unit of measure, calories in vs calories out accounts for the thermic effect of food and that calories need to be burned to digest protein. It accounts for all aspects of energy balance including its relation to nutrition. I’ll grant you this much… it is extremely difficult to accurately track calories when labels can have variances up to 20% and activity trackers are not accurate BUT that doesn’t mean calories in vs calories out is incorrect, it just means it’s harder to track and why metabolic ward studies are the gold standard. People are still fat and sick, and regularly getting worse over time because they are over consuming calories, sleeping poorly, living a sedentary life and abusing alcohol and other drugs. You can pretend it’s all a marketing ploy but you’re wrong.
But doesn’t chicken (especially breast) have barely any fat? So the storing of the PUFA should be minimal bc there is not much fat to speak of… what am I missing?
You are not missing anything, chicken has less calories and more protein. And who TF getting fat because of PUFA in the chicken
this guy is fucking tripping. stick to chicken breasts for cheap and lean protein.
Isn't PUFA good for health
I get leaner when I eat chicken then beef
opposite for me weird.
@@NadaTheyLivesame for me too. Red Meat for the win!
I feel this guy is completely wrong here. If you eat friend chicken you will eat lots of sat fats. But lean skinless grilled chicken is the ultimate in protein and virtually zero fat. The theory of what a cow eats and how it digests is all not physiologically or biochemically correct. But he presents himself well and people will listen to him.
This
That's a fun sounding feeling you have there, but its both bizarre and wrong at the same time.
@@DigitalSteel keep trying 🤣🤡
@@lanceleefer8175 I don't need to... I have already succeeded. Bet you can't say the same. But feel free to keep beating your head on the wrong ideas and never meeting your goals if that is what you want to do.
@@DigitalSteel you make a lot of assumptions! I have succeeded also, by being in a calorie deficit 😉 Your anecdotes are proof of nothing... But the funny part is that you achieved your goals through a calorie deficit without even realising haha. You have absolutely no idea about health and nutrition yet you think you are smarter than the average person. Provide evidence disproving calories in vs calories out if you are so smart. I'll wait...
In the US, they wash the chicken in chlorine. US chicken is illegal in other countries because of that. So, thats another reason to avoid it imo. 🤷♀️
It's so weird basically everything related to food in the US is banned in other countries lol

Guys this guy's logic is blowing my mind. FYI, there is a reason why PUFA are called good fats. Go figure.
Great information! I eat a lot of beef and bison but I still like those chicken thighs cooked in butter! I only eat chicken 1-2 times a month now.
every time i eat skinless chicken breast i gain weigh the next day, i dunno if it's the weight of the food or the gmo feed etc.

As a poor man, chicken is better for fat loss
There ain’t no way!
I agree.I eat baked chicken almost every day and my weight is normal.
Yes finally someone who explains instead of just saying it’s good / bad for you. What is your take on pork, fish & seafood?
He's wrong though - he's so general and vague, everything he says is both wrong and right. What part of the chicken and beef is he comparing? Grilled chicken breast definitely has less fat than a rib eye steak, but fried chicken drumstick has more fat than a well done tenderloin.
@@1970rscits like he's picking and choosing points that align with his persepctive while ignoring all other factors that are even more important.
If cows turn all plant food to saturated fats, why is grain fed beef not recommended as healthy? To my understanding it means all corn and grains that cow is eating will turn to saturated fats anyways right?
Don’t quote me on this but there are other garbage things in the grain feeds, some feeds have been found to have microplastics which as I’m sure you know is no good thing. There isn’t much of a nutritional difference between grain fed n grass fed/finished though
If you are very tight with money, is hard to buy good pastured raise Meats 😢
5 bucks for a lbs at Walmart. It’s good enough
@@geekspeak1066 that's expensive brother
Exactly and with the president we have everything has gone up three times. Nobody knows where the next meals coming from so you try to purchase some thing that’s good for you chicken has protein. It also has magnesium so he’s just a salesman for beef.
@@FH500. I feel for your arteries, but if you eat 5 pounds of beef everyday that is expensive, think about other foods like legumes which is like 50p for a pound - works fine for me
I had been eating steaks for a few months and had to take a break cuz of the costs now back on chicken for a couple weeks
As someone that just lost 30 lbs ‘and counting’ chicken is 100% better for fat loss. Maybe not overall health, but if you want to lose some serious weight. Chicken is the way to go.
This
Bro has never had black chicken
He's just genuinely wrong
Great information. I didn't know that What is pufa? You are the GOAT
Me and my dad are about to go on a 22 day beef and chicken diet. I can’t wait to see how it goes.
My dude some of the top atheletes and strong men in the world live on chicken.
This is pseudoscience, if anything the extra saturated fat in beef will make weight loss more difficult. Ultimately, the choice of beef vs chicken is a rounding error compared to all the other dietary choices we make each day.
Chicken is shit I’m with this guy.
Also, can you do a whole video about the organ meats?
Literally every professional bodybuilder, Yknow the guys paid to be as big and lean as possible, would entirely disagree with you. Red meat is more calorically dense, end of story.
Body builders require a lot more protein tho. It makes sense they'd opt for the lower calorie/cost option.
Calories are not important. Lean protein creates an insulin response, which is useful for recovery for exercise. This isn't new science. Beef is FAR more nutrient dense than chicken, and some of the best body builders who ever lived lived on steak and eggs.
What do they know about being lean and muscular? Burmaster knows better, he has 20 lbs of muscle total
@@keithqueen352wrong almost every bodybuilder eats mostly chicken and less beef or red meat.

so why do aaaaaaaall these bodybuilders eat so much chicken then, so hes telling me suddenly out of nowhere he knows things that the bodybuilding industry doesnt?
My problem is, it doesn’t taste better.
What do you recommend if you have a beef allergy?
How about lamb, organ meats, fish/seafood? Can you do an order of favorability among the meats? Thanks
What is the best cut though? Is there one you prefer over the others?
This lends a curious question, what about red predatory meats, while not commercially available, how do they stack up ?
The info seems solid just want to know what the gym Bros always eating chicken?
I feel a lot better when I eat red meat.
Hey are you still eating red meat? How has it been going?
Technically, cows only have one stomach but it is split into four distinctly separate compartments: the rumen, the reticulum, the omasum and the abomasum. Each compartment has a different role to play in the efficient digestion of food. The question is, does that really make a difference in nutrition?
Agreed💯lost so much weight on ruminant meat!!!
This guy would never be caught in an actual debate with an actual expert.
This dude misinforming the general public about food health on a daily basis.
How is it misinformation?
@@Ricatonniisasavage8854chicken has way less fat and calories which makes it ideal for weight loss because you are less likely to overeat.
It's all about eating lean chicken. Sure, if you are gobbling pure chicken fat you will have a problem but overall chicken is better for fat loss than beef (Which is sad because I love steak.)
I weight more after eating a skinless chicken breast the next day which i find weird compared to beef. After exercising my ass off. Weird, this has happened enough for me to limit my chicken, unless its an heirloom chicken.
@@NadaTheyLiveyou disproved your own argument. You don’t gain fat in a day. It was most likely judt water because your body weight fluctuates a few hundred grams every day.
@@NadaTheyLiveyou really think you’re gonna gain weight from a day.’s worth of chicken? That weight gain whatever the reason was not the calories from chicken my guy, maybe the form of chicken you were eating was high in salt, which lead to water retention. If you want to gain less fat than lean cuts of free ranged chickens is a much better option than any red meat, maybe not as nutritious, but much leaner, it’s as simple as that
Which cuts of meat should I go for that have the lowest fat?
What is all the antibiotics in the red meat?
❤ Awesome thanks 🙏
This guy tell every time the exact opposite of what nutrionists and people who studied this for years say
I already knew this and tried to explain it to someone and they caught an attitude so I stopped wasting my time. With that said, its not always red meat. It really depends on the background. Grassfed beef is better than farmed raised chicken just as organic raised chicken is better than beef with GMO and antibiotic.
Finally someone with Brain , don't worry people will not believe you because you're saying the truth
How can he stand here an make a video that claims saturated fats are healthier than polyunsaturated fatty acids. Blows my mind. You want to know why you quote on quote lose weight from saturated fat which he claims which is horrible for you but he supports it. Because pufa is healthy reduces fat and increases muscle mass which guess what weighs more then fat. Absolutely insane
For heart health reasons I’ve turned away from beef as much as possible, but what seems to have given me the heart health concerns was a lengthened period of time when I exclusively had steak every single meal as my only source of protein. During that period, I did manage to lose 20+ kg in ~3 months through this diet and consistent HIIT exercise and low heart rate jogging while looking much more muscly than ever. Based on my experience, what is presented might be true but there is a huge risk to only consuming red meat. In my case, my cholesterol level was higher than the majority of those in their 80s even if they have had a typical unhealthy lifestyle all their life. Besides genetic reasons, I personally believe having beef as sole source of protein had a huge part to play. I’ve started another round of weight loss, after gaining 30+kg due to a lengthened period of stress and lack of sleep. This time, beef is not my choice of protein. To achieve both health targets and protein consumption targets, I’m having almost exclusively fish, shrimp, and chicken thighs (sorry breasts are priced way too high where I am due to the hype), with occasional beef steak that I cook with sous vide (also the reason why I’m not doing it that often as it takes a looooong time, despite the perfection in taste).
I can definitely tell you, Beef is not what was causing your Heart Health.
the beef guy is back
All true. However. Chicken thighs cost 1.49 a lb. Ribeye Steak costs 12.99 a lb
In terms of fat quality, ruminant meat and fatty fish are clearly superior to poultry and pork products, with pastured or grass-fed products in every category being far more nutritious than their conventionally produced counterparts. Eating american chicken is basically an indirect way of eating seed oils. Chickens who feed on primarily bugs have a much better lipid profile.
Now we know. We eat more red meat and eggs
Where do you get your information from? You need to back up this up.

Doesnt take a genius to look at macros of all the junk foods and see that they have 1 thing in common. High saturated fats. This guy is a genius, not on this round earth though, this guy is definitely a flat earther.
As a percentage, this is true. But it conveniently glosses over how chicken is significantly lower in fats overall. Chicken is easily better as a weight loss option.
American pork/bacon is also high in Omega-6 an has a lot higher fat% than chicken.
I think the chicken consumption has gone up because of Costco‘s and other markets, rotisserie chickens. No doubt in my mind.
How is saturated fat a good thing?
Yes! We only eat chicken or pork 3 to 4 times a month. Beef, Bison, Venison, Lamb, and goat for the win! Ribeye 😋🥰

I don’t comment very often but he’s got the wrong take on this one. The PUFA he speaks of is poly unsaturated fats which are associated with a decrease in the bad cholesterol that builds up in our bodies versus saturated fats that increase HDL which makes bad cholesterol begin accumulating in our cardiovascular system. This is not a great take @TimBurmaster
But because of the prices I have to rely mostly on pork and chicken. Guess I'm screwed
Red meat should definitely be eaten rarely. If you meat healthy meats, stick to wild caught fish in moderation. I mix my meat consumption to 40% fish, 40% poultry, 20% between beef/goat/pork. And when I want protein with a lot less meat involved, I add plant proteins.
Plants don’t have protein. Stop believing the media and do your own research!! The easily most digestible, most nutrient dense protein on Earth is Red Meat. Think about it, why isn’t chicken? Why not fish? It’s solely Red Meat. Have you researched what is actually in Red Meat?
The key is to just stop worrying about fat loss lol
