Sarah Jakes Roberts Shares How God's Love Moved Her From a Shy Teen Mom to a Powerful Mogul | Ep. 10

There are few things more powerful than the narratives we believe about who we are. When powerhouse pastor, Woman Evolve Founder, and NYT Best Selling Author, Sarah Jakes Roberts experienced trauma in the early stages of her life, the story she began to believe about who she was led her to a period of guilt, sadness and shame. But, she slowly started to listen to the inner voice that asked her to stop defining herself by a moment and to start seeing herself how God saw her. That choice not only changed her world, it would also change the world for millions of people who would experience God through her viral sermons and impactful presence.
How will changing the narrative you believe about your story, change how you show up in the world?
Listen as Sarah sits down with Gia for an intimate one-on-one conversation as she readies the release of her new book, “Power Moves.” Find out how she moves in the major calling on her life, and how a shy teen mom gathered all the pieces of herself to become a powerhouse faith leader.
Get your journals out, this is going to be good.
Sarah’s new book, “Power Moves,” releases on April 30th wherever books are sold. Learn more information about the Woman Evolve conference on WomanEvolve.com.

You see a random person, the Holy Spirit prompts you to pray for them. You get good news you are on your knees thanking God before you tell anyone else. Girl! it is a beautiful life I tell you. I hope this quote helps too "Without God man cannot, without man God will not"

  • The palpability and vulnerability of this candid conversation is so necessary. Love to see my first 1st Lady when I moved to SoCal shining a light on this unspoken, often swept-under-the-rug, plight of preacher's kids behind-the-scenes. We have overcome an overwhelming amount of trauma, trials, church hurt, rejection, naiveté and tribulation to rise to the call of God on our lives and flow deeper in Yahweh's anointing when we surrender to his process and choose healing over hurt. Jesus, self-awareness/accountability, and therapy go hand-in-hand. There is so much power in the cross/blood ofJesus, transparency and testimony - "And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death." (Revelation 12:11)
