  • It is so refreshing & cool to see you reacting to Maneskin’s new album like this. Many so called Italian fans have said the nastiest things about wanting to revoke their citizenship bc they’re not dropping a full album in Italian. I’m Italian and hate the way we treat our own artists. Mexico and the US tend to embrace them so much more kindly, and Maneskin is special. They’ve always sung in English as well. Damiano has said it’s a new challenge for him, sound they’ve captured in rush is years above them. This whole album just felt so major and I just know those live performances will be a whole experience.

    • I think the comments come from the fact that the on the first two albums especially the second there were more songs in Italian. On this album it's the opposite.

    • Belle parole complimenti ..

They’ve been very transparent from the start when they went to record in the US that it would be an album that’s mainly in English bc Damiano said it’s a new challenge for him to tackle as he still struggles writing in English more. • Tom Morello only featured Gossip. The great and emotional solo in The loneliest is 100% Thomas Raggi the guitar player. The Italian songs, Cool Kids (great arrangement) as well as the loneliest has been produced by their Italian manager and probably made for Teatro d'ira volume 2. Even the USA production did a great job, Il dono della vita is for me the best and complex song of this amazing album. A real musical gift from Maneskin. ❤ Thanks I enjoyed a lot you reaction. • Maneskin - to me - restores my faith in the future of rock n roll. The band has described their sound as old school rock re-imagined in the modern world (paraphrasing) - but that is exactly what i get from them. And the elements of funk to the sound are also refreshing. The production value of this album in particular blows me away. i've always maintained that recorded music is like adding a spoonful of sugar to help the medicine go down. Live music is full by nature - you have volume, presence, background noise of the crowd - no added effects are truly necessary. But to recreate that in the studio, the production requires filler so that a song doesn't lag or experience dead spaces. This album is masterful in that respect. Where there are dead spots - they complement the song. It's a brilliant piece of work.

  • Thank you Blake. Finally someone in USA giving this album the praise it deserves. Other reactors have talked shit about this album. Someone fiving 3/5 or 6,5/10. Either they are deaf or stupid. You cannot deny their capability to write wonderful songs and playing the instruments to deliver them perfectly in studio and on stage. The lyrics of Damiano and his incredible voice. The skills of Victoria and Thomas. The precise drums of Ethan who is like a swiss clock in the beat. Those who don't praise this album should be ashamed of themselves. I hope it will be top 3 in US and worldwide, but unfortunately it will be difficult because of the bad commercial music that most of people are used to listen. Ciao from Italy. PS: Gasoline is a song already performed in 2022, after the start of the war in Ukraine. The song is dedicated to Ukraine and against Putin (Gasoline is referring to gas, petrol that Putin was selling to Europe). Damiano was also shouting fu*k Putin many times after singing this song in various concerts and festivals. Ukrainians love this song and praise Damiano for it and for the love he showed to Ukrainian people. Finally, the guitar solo in The Loneliest is by Thomas. For Gossip the first guitar solo is from Thomas, the second from Tom Morello who appears also in the music video as the security guard.

This album is not even that original sounding or experimental tbh, I like his voice and some of the collabs but it’s basic pop rock with some old influences at the end of the day. Not saying there’s anything wrong with that. I see why they have their appeal. They have good presence and energy and u can easily connect with the grooves. But if u really wanna listen to someone who’s pushing the envelope with rock and heavy music that’s not the case… try bmth for example, they always innovated and been trendsetter for rock and metal but still maintained a distintive and original sound. They experimented with all genres from deathcore to pop and edm and even made mainstream pop artists like Ed Sheeran and Halsey get into metal lol. • the reason to why there's a split opinion on this album is because a lot of their older fans miss when they used to do most of their songs in Italian. Their songs in Italian were so gorgeous, the instrumentals and lyrics were phenomenal. Now that they've got a lot more English-speaking fans, they are doing a lot more English songs, and less Italian ones. To me, their English songs are beautiful, but they're missing something that the Italian ones have. I will always love them, even if they only do English songs in the future. However, their Italian songs are what made me fall in love with them, like "Torna a casa" and "Coraline". To me, their Italian songs will always be special because I feel like there's a deeper meaning to them. I still however love the RUSH album, I even went and saw them in concert a few days ago, and I saw them last year in 2022 as well. They truly are a beautiful band all round and will always have a special place in my heart.

  • Thank you for that intense and amazing review. So many great insights! We saw them in Miami last month. They were SO good, and just crazy energy. They sound great live. Thomas did like a 5 minute solo to introduce The Loneliest. Beautiful band, with an all ages crowd that was into every song. As an old Rock fan they so remind me of when I discovered Queen. The same amazing frontman, great band, and one brilliant track after another.

  • You gotta see them live in concert. Saw them in Miami in December and they truly deliver. The music just explodes through the crowd. It was fantastic! BTW, Damiano recently revealed that, even though he doesn't drink alcohol, he decided to get drunk for recording Kool Kids. That is why his voice is different there. Kool Kids definitely has that Sex Pistols/The Clash punk era vibe. Yup, they managed to transport me transport me to a time long forgotten LOL.

  • Apart from me being a huge Maneskin fan: this was the coolest reaction i have ever watched. I watched many of your other reactions but I have never seen you like this and it increased the fun I have with this album even more! As this was also my first listen with headphones I have a new favorite in Gasoline. Honestly I loved Teatro d'ira but this is so much better. Can't wait to finally see them live in march!

  • I first heard of Maneskin mere days before they did a show in near me. I didn't go, and I regret it so effing much. I suspect that one of the reasons songs like Gossip and The Loneliest sound so confident and accomplished is that they were playing them live before going into the studio. This band hit me like an absolute ton of bricks, and I can't get enough of them right now. Even their debut had all the swagger in the world, but Rush! is kind of Sgt. Pepper experience, in my opinion.

Almost all of their Italian songs have youtube videos with English translations - but the best of these channels are "ItsValeria" and "LaFabi". In fact another great listen/live performance is LaFabi's "La Paura dell'buio" (Fear of the Dark) - which has a magical acapella ending.

From Damiano's vocals to Victoria on the bass, Thomas on the guitar and Ethan on the drums. Ive only been to 3 concerts, all in the past 2-3 years and Maneskin are, by far, the best performers. They're just sound so talented! Its like listening to the record but they're right in front of you!! So glad I found out about them and made all my friends and family listen to them lol

  • Your reaction to "Teatro D'ira" played a big part in me becoming hardcore Maneskin fan. I was skeptical at the first listen of "Rush", because of their management shift. I was kind of expecting for the band to be driven in a very commercialized direction and I was looking for the signs. Listening the album for the second time along with your reaction allowed me to truly appreciate the professionalism behind this creation. To me from "Own my mind" all the way to "Il dono della vita" the album sounds very cohesive. If I were to make decisions for the album I'd drop the last 3 songs, they have completely different vibe. And also releasing these pieces prior releasing the album, esp. "Supermodel", kind of contributed to my skepticism about the album. But it turned out to be a pleasant surprise and I am happy for them.

Anyway, I think it's super fun and anyone seeing them love this year is one lucky person!! Songs I tend to gravitate to are: Baby Said, Gasoline, Feel, If not for you. But it's a no skip album!

    @lara94@lara94 Жыл бұрын
    • Many are very shallow and ignorant, they also lack the sense of humour to appreciate songs like blah blah blah and kool kids. I have seen good reviews around like from Kerrang for example and also the album is charting everywhere so .....rubbish it is NOT! I agree it could have been more cohesive although we all know they had to cater for a very broad range of tastes (Italian, Hard Rock, Pop rock etc...) so that's why this decision to put all sorts in, still looking at every song individually they are singles in their own rights, bangers with Gasoline leading for me!

  • I love reading comments where people say that Damiano can’t do shit with his voice, Thomas has no clue in playing guitar and Vic is basic and can barely play bass because those comments are from very jealous people. One other pearl was that Gasoline is bad and the last 20 secs make it worse by hurting someone’s very delicate ears. And then I get to your video and comments and it’s such a joy. I don’t love all songs but I really don’t hate any of them. PS: they are all super nice in person and Vic is just a doll :)

Mammamia and Supermodel seem like two foreign bodies to me too, but I thought it was due to the fact that I've never really appreciated them. "La fine", as can be understood from the lyrics, was written about a year ago, I think for the eventual "Teatro d'Ira Vol. II".
