High tops cut off your legs. You want to combat this thru matching the color with your skin or tights, or go with platform high tops. I suggest pairing them with something closer to the color of your skin or tights if you’re wearing that. Let’s say you’re wearing black tights under a dress (I know, this style is a bit dated), if you pair black high tops with those tights, it makes your legs look longer and leaner. If you’re fair skinned, a lighter colored pair (think cream, pale pink, white, tan, beige) will make your legs look a bit longer (there’s a reason why Chanel ballet flats are a cult favorite) and vice versa for our darker skinned friends. Another option would be to wear platform high tops because it makes your taller (thus giving you length). Hope this helps!
