This all is fine.... I feel a better approach is to update your mosfet with 081 drivers. Run 2 step colder plugs and then a full kit like pure stage 2 or better yet single kit like a borg warner efr single kit. Yes you can make 500 horse (more like 430) with a 1500$ kit and then experience alot of maintenance issues. You will blow your stock turbos quick , and may bend rods and tons of headaches , and end up with a blown motor or a closed deck cylinder. In the end do the mods I listed , run pump gas and get around 550-700 wheel and do it in the end at about the same price or cheaper in the long run. Run ow-40 royal purple and change it about three times at 500/1000/1000 then mobile 1.
I think you forgot to mention first you're gonna have to fix any boost leaks. So first a smoke test, then spark plugs, coils and injectors. Those are basically mandatory otherwise your car will either get a misfire or boost leak codes along with limp mode. I know because I had the same problem on just stage 1 MHD.

This is an OKAY video. Really depends on a ton of other factors. Maintenance is huge and above all. The condition of the stock turbos should always be taken into account when dialing up the boost or they won’t last very long. The octane of fuel should be considered as well in order to reach that high hp goal. Ethanol will require a few additional models as well. Then things like catch cans, upgraded pcv, oil cooler for non sport models etc. without any of these things you will never see 500hp. And if you live in CA catless dp aren’t really an option unless you thro them on for smog and take them off.
So negative
@@nightmareuwu..8788 how so?
@@kevinsinor2821 Not negative at all mate! This is 100% facts. Fair enough, u might get those 500 HP for a day or two, until one thing after the other starts failing and ur in the shit. Maintenence allways comes first. You should also upgrade most plastic tubes along with the things u mentioned. So yeah this video is as u say "Okey" cuz yeah it is 500HP for 1500, but just for a day. Do u have any other tips? want my next car to be the 335i, but i dont know too much yet. And i want to install a single turbo kit for it. Is there like a list anywhere to all the things i gotta switch/upgrade before i start? So far i got ignitoion coils, spark plugs, intake vales, chargepipe, airfilters, injectors, suspention. But what other tubes and stuff will fail at 500-700HP?
@@bravadoplayz630 thank you for the reply I appreciate that! Other than the things that have already been mentioned, and since you are looking to snag a 335i, I would def say take your time. Have some money set aside for the right one and from the right owner. It’s easy to cheap out and buy someone else’s failing clapped put 335i but it’s harder to find one from someone that has properly maintained one. If you’re thinking of going single turbo, the best advice I can give is to do your research, what it’s going to take, how much to spend, too mount or not etc. then look into things like what fuel are you running? Is this car a daily? Upgrade fuel pumps? It sounds like you are in the right track though! These cars are much simpler to work on than people give them credit for. There isn’t anything that happens that is just pure magic or something, it’s just nuts and bolts lol Oh also, regardless of N54 build, crank pulley guard, valve cover gasket, boost solenoids, bms vacuum canisters, all new vacuum lines
There are hour long videos on how to make 500hp from an N54 if you're interested

Get an mhd custom tune on top of that jb4
for me, the biggest change were the inlet pipe kit
Are you in GA? Did you have any emission issues when you let the cats out of the bag?
And at the end you should have said.., “ most important.., “GET ANOTHER TUNE “ because with all the changes you have made you will definitely need a re-tune..😉
If you put new wipers on you can gain an extra 25hp. Add some extra LEDs you can gain up to 60hp
tune, downpipe and K&N air filters for 500hp. Ok got it!
Guys dont take all of what he said serious! Yes our man out here did many of us/you a good deed probably and while some things he said are right (downpipe, tune power gain) you wont get around 20hp more from just a different air filter... the stock ones are most of the time more than sufficient for such mild tunes... you would need to go into the 700hp and more to actually gain any HP from allowing "more" air into the engine just from a different air filter... the stock ones can provide even more air than the engine can use around 500HP.. so dont let yourself get fooled into buying too much stuff that you wont need... depending on your expected results. Furthermore a bigger intercooler, while being good for maintaining power over longer periods of time instead of just small pulls, needs to be picked in accordance to your actual flow/air volume that the turbo is pushing. Our man here did say this right.. the reason for it being tho is that too big of an intercooler can lead too a bigger turbo lag because it can take too long to fill and pressurise the system after the blowoff valve releases the pressure. On the other had a smaller intercooler can lessen the turbo lag on the one hand but additionally it would drastically increase intake temperatures, which in turn decreases power output, engine efficiency and make the engine overheat way faster, which again in turn can damage the engine. . . So to sum up: -- Buy Downpipes/High Flow Cats -- Buy a slightly bigger/better intercooler (optional, but recommended) -- Buy a tuning tool (recommendation: MHD Flasher; licence will be bound to the specific car but its A cheaper and B its very intuitive and allows for way easier and more control over what gets written to the engine + idiot proof... you cannot really make anything wrong with it, just make sure to stay honest and if the app asks you e.g. if you have a downpipe installed to not say yes when you dont because it will adjust the values depending on what you tell the app and wrong input can lead to worse driving experience than without the tune... MHD tunes are pretty safe tho. Work like a charm!)
Thanks bro I just have to first upgrade my N52 to the N54 lol

Don't even worry about the JB4 guys, buy MHD and xHP MHD is a shelf tune that can get you up to 500hp easy (Has Stage 1, Stage 1+, Stage 2, Stage2+, E30, E40, E85 tunes. xHP is a shelf transmission tune and that can shave off 0-100km/h times and 100-200 even 1/4. (Has Stage 1, Stage 2, Stage 3, Stage 4 then there's Drag Mode which ignores everything, doesn't grab torque from the engine (Can wear your transmission out a bit) but it makes the car shift AS fast as possible.
bro, i have a N54 E92 328i. It doesn’t come with those lil turbos:( do you still recommend me adding all this stuff? slap a single turbo on it?
Would just a tune package bringing the car to 400 be okay on its own. Or would you still need to get the inter cooler

Awsome video, makin me wana sell my 640d GC and buy a convertabe 335i 😂
Thanks a lot and a 640d is really cool though 😂
great video but 2 questions man, can you just replace the charge pipe with a blowoff valve? and do you need a turbo to have a blow off valve?
All N54s already have twin turbos.
What if I don’t have e85 in my country? Best I can do is shell v power 99 or Ron97
By changing only those things you can make 500 HP. For a few thousand miles and for a couple dozen full pulls. And then something is going to be toast. With those mods what you're looking at getting is something like 420-440hp, which is still a very, very nice gain which you can daily drive for years while basically keeping a normal service cycle. If you want 500hp, then you need a 7-7.5" intercooler, not a 5" one. a 5" I/C will be okay in more temperate climates, but in warmer places....nope. If you live in AZ, FL, So-Cal etc...then for 6-9 months of the year your 5" I/C will just give you knock problems and either your DME will retard timing of you'll actually get a CEL for misfires. Turbo inlet pipes: they won't really give you more power, but they will let your turbos deliver the same boost AND flow with a lower RPM, so they will live a hell of a lot longer. 500hp is dumb if you need to buy new turbos every 5000 miles. That kind of expense is only really arguable on a drag or track car and then you'd be looking at a 800-1100hp motor, not 500. Unless you can get 95 Octane/102 Octane in Europe, then you need to run E40 to E85, which means you need to add more flow to your LPFP. So for a 500hp car that actually works properly, you need more like $2500 because only a custom tune will give you that. The Cobb, JB4 and MHD will all top out at 420-440hp on their off-the-shelf tunes. Oh, and then factor in that the N54s are now pushing 12-15 years...and you need to fix all the normal issues related to ageing. So...as they age and the need to do more extensive maintenance becomes unavoidable, the cheap tunes on those engines make less and less sense.
