Is there any way that I can tell if my Android has been "roto-rooted"?😉
It's getting ridiculous at this rate with the level of privacy intrusion exposure risk with modern technology. I feel like going back to the old school Nokia 3210.
What does it mean, when you text someone, and it says, message blocking active? Did that person actively block you, or, is it a default message, that your calls or message didn't go through?
Just subscribed. Ty! What phone & OS is best for avoiding big brother?
1. Checking for increased mobile data usage neglects the possibility of increased wifi usage. 2. If your gmail account is set to forward incoming emails to someone you didn't authorize, you should also change your gmail password, which was presumably compromised.
I miss life without cellphones. Those days were priceless!
i miss life without smartphones. for me that would be 2000-2007 i miss my childhood😭
Not for me, as a teen, we had a party-line and the busy-bodies would listen in on our phone calls... not cool.
What's stopping you? Nobody is forcing you to use a phone. You're choosing to use one.
Man those were the good days
Funny how nobody knew this was going on when in those cell phone contracts you signed to let them do it. Thas Y they always rush you and "help" you when it comes to setting up cell phone account.
Scary stuff! I wish I could just get an old school flip phone that only makes calls. Life was so much simpler back then.
@Magni Nina yeah but they don't work well....many carriers won't work it.
Look into jitter bug phone. Made for older people
Couldn't be more right.👍
Madeline del Valle So,..... get one. Quality flips are out there.
@@spikespa5208 any carriers or brands you know of ??
Awesome content! Clear, concise and devoid of unnecessary waffling. Thank You!
Here's another HUGE tip guys: Never allow anyone to sign in to their Gmail (or KZhead- same company!) from your phone- even if it's confirmed they signed out, because afterwards they may be able to track your phone's location from their Gmail account . It's how I caught my ex lying to me by accident. I was curious to see my locations and I found a bunch of new places I'd never been- then I realized even though her Gmail was signed out on my phone I was still able to see her locations!
Lol, same here
Excellent work Sherlock 👍👍 She belongs to the streets;) Mtfbwy
I'm so sorry people. Finding out people you trust are liars is just plain old painful. 2 Timothy 3:1-5 Signs of the last days... are wicked traits: unthankful, disloyal, no natural affection, etc.
I signed into my KZhead on my son's father's phone and all my contacts synced to his phone...and although I signed out...my contacts still on his phone
@@catherinehanson1106 Yep. Google and KZhead are owned by the same company.
GREAT, GREAT INFO! I had no idea all this could be done. You guys rule!
This was super helpful and greatly appreciated!
I'll make it easy for you, as a former federal agent in two different agencies (FBI and DEA). All phones are being tracked, all the time. That doesn't mean anyone is actually reviewing or using the data, but they are always being tracked.
Which is why mine get shut off and bagged, when I go out. Security Bags are useful. Can't Track, what isn't getting signal.
@@davidjames1063 you actually can. Someone did a man in the middle on their own phones. They put them in airplane mode and such and carried them around. When they reconnected they sent a ton of accelerometer data that showed the movement from last known location. They could figure out where you had gone. Based on accelerometer and compass they can guess we'll enough.
@Thesunroseatmidnight okay same goes for computers. They get hacked all the time..
@Thesunroseatmidnight okayAgencies have their ways of activating them at will. The only way to be sure they are truly off is by physically disconnecting them and using external pluggable devices.
I just left a new comment in regards to this same thing. There is no way to turn off tracking on any device.
WOW MY FRIEND YOU ARE TRULY AMAZING !!! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SHARING THIS WITH US !!!
Really good information you guys, thank you for such a great information to keep us safer 🙏🙏 I suscribed and liked your videos.
Thank you very much for making this video, im now putting more security and disabling some suspicious stuff!
Appreciate both your non intrusive/ distractive vocals. Thank-you and for the good advices
Wow guys, this video is packed with useful information on keeping you safe from someone trying to track you. Great job!
Thanks for making this easy to understand. You guys did an awesome job.
Thanks so much, Liv!
@@PayetteForward hi I have a A13 android. and I have a question for you guys? On my phone where it says data background, should I turn it OFF???
Very useful information 👍🏻 thanks to both of you.
Don't know if you will ever read this but.... a big thank you from the Silver Surfers oldies in my group and family. Thank you for making all that information so easy to follow that, even in our 70s, we have been able to follow your instructions. We have subscribed and will enjoy watching more of your very helpful videos. Wonder if you have one about cookies. Cookies sound nice but it might be better to get rid of them too.
Mind blown! This was a doozy! Thanks, thumbs up and subscribed!
Thank you so much from sunny scotland (😂) for this info and the effort you put in to make these understandable for those of us who don't understand tech-talk 😊
Did you ever meet bon Scott?
Thank you so much for sharing your technical knowledge with us normal, and esp "OLD" people who didnt grow up with this technology. 😁
@Bee Rich, "old?" I'm 67 and don't have any issues with smartphones. I also have a background in computers and electronics. As an over-the-road driver I'd be sitting somewhere bored so I started going into Settings and Permissions to see what's what and basically taught myself how to set up and turn off things I didn't want on. A lot of young people probably couldn't handle using my phone because I've turned off so much crap I consider to be useless or just not needed.
"Old" people know that they are not that interesting for someone to actually care enough to track...
@@denisemiller9921, 🤣😂😅

Really Really Appreciate the informative information guys. THANK YOU BOTH!! KEEP POSTING!
Thanks guys, you have really raised my awareness of what your phone can do behind the scenes without your permission. The ph. manual does not include your expert knowledge. 👏👏👏👏👏👏 It is so much more than just a tool to make phone calls and check emails etc . I have hit that subscribe button.
Maybe you covered this topic elsewhere, but if not, it's important for people to understand what Android backups do and do not save. My #1 beef with Android is that you can't do a real complete backup without root.
@vibrolax, that's what I miss about LG phones. I could backup the phone to my Micro SD Card, do a factory reset and then do a restore to put my info back or to just change LG phones.
Thank you for making this video 👍🙏
This was such a joy to accidently find and such a superb layout and presentation. Consuder me subscribed❤

I did the Developer Options route as well... turning off all sensors with a click of a button is great. 👍
Privacy & security is imperative in these nasty , ugly times !!!! Bottom line , do no business over your phone !!!! Or, TRASH CAN , your smart phone !!!! Don't depend on your phone for all that you do !!!
Thanks guys, ive just sub'd. Great info. Cheers.
Thank you for posting this!
Good old corded phones with rotary dial. I miss my commodore 64 computer. Life was so much easier before answering machines, internet, and all that modern stuff.☮️🧘♀️
Nice video and review 👍
There are so many things that you're addressing at one time and going so fast it's hard to keep up and and use them. Do you have a book or a pamphlet or something that someone can buy that we could use? That would be so wonderful. Thanks
thanks for the great tips!
At last! A simple, up to date, thorough and relevant video showing me what I should be doing. Without any unnecessary twaddle or boring bits. So helpful. So concise. So, thanks oodles!
I Agree! Well Said!
These guys are Awesome! I check in every once in awhile to make sure I'm not 'comprimised' on my android phone. I'm all good. Thanks for the update.
GREAT WORK !!!! THANKS FOR HELPING THE AWARENESS .
Thanks, guys!!!...I'm having ALL kinds of issues with this topic!!!...this helps!...God bless!
Stop using as many Google apps as possible. Disable all of them and replace them with better apps like Signal for messaging. Stop allowing permissions out of "convenience".
You mean like google play apps?? Then what do you use ?
SIGNAL IS A TERRIBLE APP. TOO MUCH TRACKING. 😎
I hope my enemies track me down so I can eliminate them all in one setting
Thank you I'm just picking up on this slowly thank use your beautiful channel is so amazing, going to check it out I got use install in my library thank you 😊
thank you for this topic! very helpful! is there a video for security for Moto phones? I noticed you used Samsung in you demonstrations..
Google tracking is automatic even when you don't want to accept any of the settings when their updates come take a notice that it after an update what happens to that setting and many don't know they don't need your permission to try Q have you read your terms and conditions of your own mobile plan
Thanks for unraveling this OS. Its getting more challenging everyday!
Yes. This whole phone thing has become down right stupid beyond all sense. Not only are we missing our real lives, but we are putting ourselves in perpetual danger. Also, we are enabling criminals, even raising them like little kids who are learning how to harm ppl and thinking its cool instead of learning the useful tasks of living. BTW, these are federal crimes. It's time we stopped.
THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU DO! You earned my sub.
Thank you for the information.

Really really getting close to throwing this phone in the creek.
Time was when this happened w wristwatches. Long before Apple. They kept adding more and more functions. Eventually, ppl got fed up w spending all their time putting everything on their watches and watches went back to just telling the time and being an item of jewelry. I think we all fell for a major and very, very expensive scam either by govt or companies or both and one day, when y'all are old (I'm already there), young folks are going to be amazed at the stupidity of our era.
Thanks to both of you for this info.
Very useful information. Thank you very much guys🙏☺
My old phone used to randomly go to the lock screen, or turn the volume up or down without the buttons being touched. It scared me into wiping my phone to factory settings and it stopped

The efficiency of this *usespy online is next level.* To juggle walk throughs of various angles on the topic delivered to-camera, differnet content per topic from various folks underneath the umbrella of the track list of the larger big band concert itself is engaging and refined. wow our phones are a mindful of info about us most people including me are totally unaware of...Ill be able to do these things on any app installed...just takes a lot of time...Thanks for all the info👍
Good video to let me know where my blind spots were. I'd already discovered a lot of this stuff just exploring my phone, but some stuff I didn't know about. The Apple detector thing could actually be really useful, as I just bought a new car I'll be using for Uber. I already have a tracker installed in my car that lets me know if anyone removes it from my geofence, but it would be handy to know if anyone else, like a passenger, is trying to track it.

Eye Ain't got no geofence... But mine's electrified.
The problem is, after you change the settings how you want them, when you restart your phone many of them return to the default.
Really? That's soo grimey. Ty
I've never had that happen. And I run my battery completely dead so I'm restarting every charge.

Thanks ! I had no idea 😮
Pixel phones don't use Gallery, they use Photos. There are some other differences in the Settings menus as well, so you might have to dig around a little to find all of these hacks if you aren't using a Samsung phone. Also, phone heating up - yes, take a look at your apps, I found that there was a radio station streaming app that was continuously running in the background. Once I changed the background settings for that app, my phone cooled down and the battery life returned to normal.
Good info! I had a library app that did the same thing.
I went through every single app and was surprised to find that the vast majority of them were using background battery and data I shut all of that off and I never had a problem with my phone overheating since although it did take a long freaking time
It doesn't matter if you turn that stuff off or not. There was a news reporter who took a phone that was activated and one that wasn't all over Washington DC throughout the day and then analyzed the data at the end of the day for both phones. The one that wasn't activated was tracked and shared just as much data as the other one that was activated.
I remember that! I'm not too worried, cuz I truly don't care. My kids say I throw off this "F" with me vibe that scares people away from me. Then I was raised by a crazy "faded away" Marine. How many civilians, (do you know) can be upside down, blindfolded, break down any gun, clean it, re-oil it, put it back together correctly? Well, I can, so again I'm not too worried!!
@@tacticalmustache5016 well you really shouldn't have to rely on that skill when it comes down to it seeing that you have a tactical mustache. So as long as you're packing that you should be undetectable and untouchable.
Why do i get notifications of girls saying "I'm free" like for real nobody cares if you're free all i want is to focus
@@CajunRed I had an older brother that sounds like you. He first served in the Army, then afterwards reinlisted in the Air Force, finally retiring. I had a question, though if you might know, where I live my cell service barely works, and in my house, there's nothing. So I was thinking about checking into a satellite phone. I see them in uses like over big waters. And I wonder if and who might track them. Companies that sell them are tight lipped when asking questions. Thanks for any advice, and THANK YOU for your service. We need men like you in the leadership of our armed services and getting rid of all the wokesters.
@JamesJohnson: wish I could help you. But my Dad was in between 58-63; I don't know if they had that type of technology back then. I wasn't even born then. I have no idea what a satellite phone even looks like! Sorry!!
This was a great video. Thank you.
"if you see Spy Tracker 3000" lol I'm dying
It is so disturbing that all our privacy can be invaded so easily now, thru our cell phones. I've been suffering with this problem for years. I guess we need to be careful about who we give out our number to and definitely not ex- boyfriend's!! But, can our cell phone number now be easily found on the Internet? 🤷🏼♀️
I will always respect this video. I am greatful for another blessed opportunity. The complaints to my first phone service and even I tried to get a Attorney.

For people like me this vid was so very useful, but people like me need a little more time to get to the details perhaps you could slow down just a bit. You are going at the speed that others who already know these things would follow easily . But not a 70 year old, still thanks so much for this it was really helpful .

Intresting, thank you for sharing this.

Rooting is really only good for recovering data that was deleted on an old phone no longer in use. In order for a data recovery app to be installed and to actually work . .. it's usually required that the phone be rooted first. At this point, it doesn't matter if the phone loses its ability to be fully secure because it's been abandoned and replaced for a newer model phone anyway and the only reason it's being rooted is to recover data someone intentionally deleted data on. Law enforcement and or detectives use such tricks to reveal leads in unsolved cases. Sometimes its used by a significant other in a relationship to discover unanswered questions about the activities of their partner after the phone has been replaced and left in a drawer someplace.
Big Tech, creating so much paranoia in the world, and increasing it all the time..
Thank you very much.. you really don't understand how grateful I am to have stumbled across your channel. I've literally never had anyone to help me with various things with android and really anything so Thank you.

Good for you, Andy!
Ok, All these steps for phone security precautions are greatly appreciated. And I pretty much did them step by step. For some reason, I don't have any apps in my Samsung folder so I couldn't do that one. Also, I did the google data backup. But I didn't do the last step, to do a Factory reset, because I was not ready to have to re-download all my apps, and I'm not sure how to get all the data and pictures back that would be wiped. Need more explaination there about how that's supposed to work. Since "all else fails" doesn't apply, I won't worry about it.
3:24 Number 10 is an intriguing trip down memory lane for me. Late last century when phoning a family member who was in Germany we would always hear the clicks that you mention here. They were so obvious that we were in two minds as to whether they were because of a spate of fundamentalist terror cells from Germany in particular coming over to London, attempting to carry out an atrocity and get back before both countries' security services had cottoned on to them. Or if we were too paranoid, especially as they were so audible ~ maybe on purpose as a sort of double bluff. The situation has since calmed down considerably and the clicks are a thing of the past. Unless they've got better at it. MI6 I mean!
How do we know for sure that any of these actions actually work? For example, using incognito mode, do you really trust Google not to be monitoring your history then?
Even IF you do all of these, google pretty much knows everything. They will know your device type, your ip address (so your physical address) etc. Go read google privacy policy.
