    • @@treasuringpricelesstime5962 I like to keep my planted shrimp tanks around 200 TDS. 180TDS is good for many plants to thrive and Neocardinia like 150TDS to 250 but I have seen breeders keep them even near 300. I shoot for around 200 and when it hits 220ish I like to do a slight water change. I don't try to be extremely accurate anymore. Get it close and don't worry about it. • I did this with my betta bowl…. probably about a 4 gallon bowl? I just slowly weaned off from water changing and like a pond it has its own ecosystem the water is crystal clear fish is totally healthy never sick. Like a pond it went through an algae phase and then cleared itself up! ♻️ been almost 2 years! He’s sitting here right now on my kitchen island, iPad is tilted and he is watching your video! As far as feeding him he doesn’t eat every day. He eats what he needs to eat like in the wild. His feedings are intermittent

  • I have a question when it comes to the ethics of bowls. I've seen and heard from many sources that bowl tanks are cruel as they distort what the fish sees too much and hence lead to stress and confusion, etc. I would love to hear what you think, and why! Would love to educate myself.

  • I did something similar with an old 20 gallon fish tank I had. My mother had a pond that she kept larger fish in, but some smaller fish somehow turned up in the tank. She figures the eggs were on some of the water plants she added. Well she gave me about 15 little fish, some snails, and some water plants from her pond and I put the fish tank in the basement of all places. There is a small window near by so the tank would get a little sunlight but not much. The tank had no bubbler, no filter, no light... just a tank. Well we turned out not using the basement wreck room too often and the fish tank was forgotten about. After at least a year I noticed that while the plants had grown quite a bit they had not overwhelmed the tank and when I took a flashlight to look into it and found the water crystal clear and the fish and snails were thriving. The basement was cooler and we did keep a cover over it, so the evaporation was very little. We kept the tank going for about 3 years before we gave everything back to my mother when we moved to a new house. I never even added water and the levels only dropped about 2" the whole time. In the end she got back about 40 fish and way more snails, but she was setting up a second pond in her garden so she figured it would help establish an eco system in that pond.

  • great content! I appreciate it. You could always use something, even a thin white sheet to soften the light. just place the sheet in front of the lights, thanks again for the content! PS. the reflection didnt bother me but I can see you are going for that next level content and work with alot of reflective surfaces so I thought i'd mention it, cheers!

  • You’re amazing! Such a magnificent talent to have the knowledge and skills to do these beautiful little eco systems. I really want to create one of my own but I realize it’s not something you just do without the knowledge of so many factors involved. Excellent content on your channel. 💯👍🏽 Thank you for sharing your talents and knowledge with us. I consider it a privilege and a blessing. It’s refreshing to see such valuable content. If you’re looking for something fun and educational to do with your kids, this is a great idea. It teaches valuable knowledge and responsibility because you have to be diligent in the care of them. It would be an excellent classroom project as well! Teaching children to respect and value every life as they’re all important in our eco system. I have one question. How long have you been doing this? I’m sure it takes time to get all the knowledge you have of every aspect of creating and caring for them. I’m so fascinated with the beauty of these tanks! Ok I’ve gone on long enough. LOL

  • This is so cool! I’ll admit I’m a bit terrified setting up my first fish tank, but this looks so easy! Absolutely beautiful!!

    @BaileyBlurbs@BaileyBlurbs2 жыл бұрын
    • Easy, yes but he also knows the important basics of the science behind it. Things like using old filter media, types of rocks that are good to use for correct water harness, not washing things with any soaps, etc. Small things that are often overlooked by beginners but devastating to the life within the tank sometimes. It's definitely important to do research in this hobby before doing anything you aren't sure about.

There aren’t many tutorials on aquascaping this kinda tank so I was wondering if you could do a video about getting mad height in a tank. 😋
