When I had a depression in 2021 I went to my guitar lesson and immediately started to cry in front of my teacher. He threw away the plans for the lesson and just played and sang that song with me to cheer me up. It was one of the best moments I had in my life. Even though he'll never read this comment, I just want to thank him for all the great times we had and the skills he taught me over the years

I remember when this song debuted. It was so wonderfully unique. I have since read that Bobby McFerrin once said, years later, that he was sorry he had written it....because he was tired of people coming up to him & saying the title. That broke my heart a little, even though I also understand it a little. I just hope Mr. McFerrin knows this song has SAVED a lot of people's lives.....literally. Including mine.

My husband and I have been using this song to end fights and cheer each other up for the entirety of our near 20 year relationship. When I had a depression in 2021 I went to my guitar lesson and immediately started to cry in front of my teacher. He threw away the plans for the lesson and just played and sang that song with me to cheer me up. It was one of the best moments I had in my life. Even though he'll never read this comment, I just want to thank him for all the great times we had and the skills he taught me over the years

I remember when this song debuted. It was so wonderfully unique. I have since read that Bobby McFerrin once said, years later, that he was sorry he had written it....because he was tired of people coming up to him & saying the title. That broke my heart a little, even though I also understand it a little. I just hope Mr. McFerrin knows this song has SAVED a lot of people's lives.....literally. Including mine.

My husband and I have been using this song to end fights and cheer each other up for the entirety of our near 20 year relationship. One of us just randomly starts playing it or hides somewhere and plays it near the other person or just ambushes them. Today he was down and when I played it he smiled.
