Marc Marquez has talked about how he's still getting used to riding a Gresini Ducati.
His high-profile departure from Repsol Honda implies that one of the major teams in MotoGP will be replaced by a lesser outfit.
Not only has he upgraded his bike, but he has also brought on additional crew members for the back office.
Marquez was questioned about whether working in Japan was different from working in Italy.

  • Alot of years on one brand. Alot of adjustments to make to himself and the bike. I believe it will come. He's a professional. Good luck to whole team

    • His lap times are already there: in the test sessions he was very consistent and up with the top Ducati and Aprilia riders in lap times. The only thing he still can't/won't do is qualifying laps. He says he doesn't have that pace yet, but it could be that he is holding back for fear of crashing, because he needs as many laps as he can get to adapt his racing style to the Ducati.

  • This is a very good decision in all manners. The sport will benefit immensely with increased volatility in dominance, and from a market perspective it will also all the manufacturers the chance to have the spotlight for at least 1 year! I’m all Ducati, but i wanna see the other teams and pilots fighting for victory every race

    • Agreed, and it IS kind of ironic that Ducati is complaining, because THEY reaped maximum profits when they got concessions. So now THEY are the dominating manufacturer they b*tch about Honda and Yamaha getting concessions?

    • Yep, I saw that one coming a mile away. He works his magic riding the front, but that does not work on the Ducati. Its a completely different style from riding the rear. So the bike essentially neuters him until he relearns how to ride like most other riders ride. But then how will he go faster than them? He will be tempted to ride the front in the heat of the battle and that's where he will be re-introduced to the gravel trap. This is going to be very entertaining this year

  • I’m sure Marc will get there,& probably a lot quicker than Lorenzo did, I’m sceptical of his motives on this move to Ducati, & wouldn’t be surprised if he returns to Honda after they get their bike sorted, & maybe with a few new ideas that Luca hasn’t blabbed about..😂 What I am sure about is you’d be a fool to write him off .. Come qualifying we’ll all see his previous sandbagging was just that!!

    • @@Ninj1959 Yes read about that too.. I remember reading that he told his Honda bosses he shouldn’t be accepting his salary as he was unable to race, when he was off injured.. But if I remember correctly they did anyway.. I’m guessing it was for tax reasons ( joke ) 😂

BEcause honda bribes dorna and delerious honda fanboys cry/whine how the euro manufactures win every comparisons over the japanese for the last 16 years strait . Japanese bikes are now inferior to euro bands in every aspect ......the fix is simple!!! ...Japan= Stop building inferior bikes !!!

  • No Rossi was at the end of his career when he came along just like MM93 is now. What goes around comes around and MM93 is finished as a gp contender that's why he's riding in a satellite team and Honda let him go a year early. A factory team would have snapped him up if he was a contender ,they have ways and means

  • The Honda bike is dam fast ,but because of the inline 4 power delivery it lacks traction out of the corners. If Honda changed to a cross plane crank then that would be a massive upgrade to their performance. Ducati continues to show the way because they are not afraid to be innovative in their engineering designs.
