    • I agree. I mean, despite what Oikawa says, he does end up giving advice to Kageyama. I was so surprised to see Kageyama go to Oikawa when he was having trouble. And he followed his advice till the end. And Oikawa never hesitated to point out that Kageyama is an immaculate setter, even though he is obviously bitter about it. He even warns Ushijima about it. Even Iwa-chan calls Kageyama his student. I wish he would have mended relations with Tobio in the end.

  • I can really understand where Oikawa is coming from. He wasn't naturally gifted, he had to train every single day to get where he is and the person who looked up to him also became the one to overtake him. You literally cannot hate anyone in this series

    • i agree, except kageyama had to train every single day too at a much earlier age than Oikawa (which could explain some of his genius talent), which oikawa obviously couldn't know.

    • Yes, when you read the final chapters of the manga you see how much Kageyama trained. A lot of people say he’s talented and lucky but he had a lot of determination from a long time.

  • Middle school kags was so pure and innocent wtf so cute💘💞💖💕💓💗 Its so sad how his life carried on after. His parents who are always busy to the point of being neglectful, his sister who left him for university, his closest person in his life his grandpa kazuyo who died and his idol oikawa who tried to slap him, it all affected kageyama's life very badly and im mad how his teammates at time didn't even consider asking him why he was so different. Ppl don't just change like that without reason.

  • kageyama used to looked so amazed by oikawa, everytime he sees oikawa, his eyes is full of sparkle and he really adored oikawa. now he looked at oikawa with an emotional gaze, intense and full of anger but deep down he always adore him like he used to.

  • Wow. Kind of surprised that there are some (if not a lot) of people who dislike Oikawa. Well for me I kind of relate to him because I’m competitive and I really hate losing. Especially when you know that you gave it your all yet you were still surpassed by someone. Yes, he attempted to slap Kageyama but I think that scene just shows how frustrated and pressured Oikawa is. Anyway, for me Haikyuu is one of those anime where you really appreciate EVERY character. That’s just how great this anime is and that’s why it’s one of my favorites 😊

  • At first I really disliked Oikawa but the more I got to now him the moreI started loving him and I know how he feels he had to train his whole life to be as talented as those who were gifted , he was really nervous about losing his position since he loves wining and is competitive asf ( honestly I can relate to him ) as for Kageyama , I don't think they hate each other I just think that this is a way of them testing each other . they admire each other abilities and strength , volleyball is a competitive game after all :)

  • Tooru had inferiority complex and he was jelous of talented and gifted players like kags and ujishima.....he tried so much just to play in the nationals but couldn’t...he almost bullied kageyama due to loosing his cool bcz of his boiling frustration... Ppl hate him for that, but nobody sees his side of the story🙂...i am egarly waiting for s5 where he will face all his enemy in olympics...

    • Yes but it's not like he hates them so bad ..He just sees them as rivals ..Even he agrees that kageyama is a better setter ..it's just that he worked really hard for where he is now and players like kageyama are somewhat gifted in the sport

  • i hate oikawa. he tried to slap tobio there is no justification to that. he is literally the reason that tobio became the egotistical king of the court he was. all tobio wanted was for his senpai to teach him how to serve. tobio LOOKED UP to oikawa and HOW does oikawa respond?! TRYING TO SLAP HIS KOHAI. thankfully iwa was there to stop him. lovely iwaizumi hajime being a good senpai and saving tobio with those GODLY ARMS (im sry im a major iwaizumi simp) anyway back to the point of that (be prepared for a lot of oikawa slander) oikawa is an egotistical, bratty, self absorbed, fangirl surrounded, flat, b- im not even going to complete that word he- i hate him so much try to change my mind
