How to make the Quadcast sound better - HyperX Quadcast and Quadcast S sound settings and tweaks
In this video I'm talking to you about how to make the HyperX Quadcast and Quadcast S sound better. The settings you need to tweak on your Quadcast or Quadcast S, within Windows, on the mic and in the software in order to make it sound great.
There are all sorts of things you can do to make the HyperX Quadcast sound fantastic and these are some of them:
1 - get it on a boom arm and get it close to your mouth
2 - reduce the gain as much as possible
3 - set it to Cardioid pick up pattern
4 - download firmware using Ngenuity
5 - set the mic to 48KHz/16-bit sample rate in Windows sound settings
6 - Make sure it's selected as the default communication device
7 - Apply other settings in OBS
In this video I'm showing you how to tweak sound settings in OBS too, including adjust bit rate and sample capture in sound settings, applying filters, using the monitoring to check the levels and more.
I'm also showing you how to use @NVIDIAGeForce Broadcast to apply AI powered noise cancellation to your mic as well. This will help too, assuming you have a good quality RTX graphics card.
I finally show how to use noise removal in Audacity to get down noise there too.

Dude, I was unaware about the "normalize" feature in all the softwares, I was blaming basically many mic brands because their sensetivity was too low and almost inaudible until, thanks to you today, I discovered and used that feature editing my videos and the result is a whole world of difference... thanks... Greetings from Colombia 😁

Heads up to anyone with a GTX card, Nvidia Broadcast will NOT work on your system + the original Quadcast does NOT have the support of Hyperx Ngenuity (only the S version supports it). Neither of these facts are mentioned.
It's mentioned in the description and more importantly on both of the manufacturer's websites when downloading. Always read the fine print. =)
@@manikmykie its not mentioned in the video
If it's not mentioned in the video, the thumbnail or the title... Then it's not mentioned anywhere, because that's the content. One does not check video descriptions for information that we don't know the video is missing. OP's comment is perfectly valid and useful for the audience.
can use Nvidia RTX voice instead, name is misleading I know but RTX voice works broadcast does not.
For some reason NGenuity doesnt recognise that ive got my quadcast S plugged in, so i dont know how to connect it?
Detailed and instructionsvery clear now I sound very crispy with minimal background noise..thank you!

This has been the best video i have ever seeon for the hyper x quadcast honnestly amazing Thank you!

Thanks man, this video was really helpful a lot better than those videos where they make you download a shit ton of apps for viruses and stuff. Had quadcast S and always got clowned on for background sound and it sounding muffled, now it sounds really clean and smooth.

What a quality in depth video! 90% of the videos on KZhead about this mic are all just people wanting the publicity of the brand and hype of the look to get views, and they don't offer much more.. will go and do all this and hopefully get rid of the background noise im getting (prolly my pc vibration and my fan noise.. which I never noticed until now how loud the fans are lol)
Good luck! Let me know how you get on 👍
Thank you for the video very helpful ty again
I like how you mentioned that the QuadCast (non S version) isn't compatible with NGENUITY. Really saved me hours of troubleshooting why it NGENUITY didn't pick up my device. Thanks for that...
I didn't know that at the time of making the video. But thanks for the sarcasm. Have a great life.

Thank you very much! The Quadcast S is my first ever standing microphone so I am very thankful for the super detailed explanation. Sadly the nvidia tip won't work for me as it requires at minimum an rtx 2600 which I do not own but other than that it was very helpful.
Glad to help. If you run AMD you can now use noise cancelling sound options via their drivers.

I want someone to make a settings video for this but for people that play scary games and are loud cause some filters on audio mess up with these recommendations.

I noticed that when transitioning to red, it only blinks at the bottom and top, as shown in 04:50. This happens to mine too. Do you think this is a manufacturing defect? Thank you for the helpful video.
thank you so much and i cant believe how early i am
Thanks for watching
part of the early squad! may I ask what do you prefer quadcast s or blue yeti x?
It's been a long time since I've used the yeti X. I think that build quality is more premium on the Yeti mics to be fair but the Quadcast S is magnificent.
Great video but the OG Quadcast isn't a supported device for the NGENUITY software :/
same for me, its a struggle but it happens to the best of us.
yeah same here. Why is that not the case? I don't understand
Noooooo :(
It also apparently doesn't have any stand alone firmware updates 🤷♂
just use the voice mod voice enhancer for the noise reduction and voice meeter potato

Would be great if you could make a video on recording using this mic when moving around a lot. For example, when recording my gameplay I will move my head from side to side because I have a big monitor. This means that when I talk into the mic, my mouth is aimed at the centre, the left side, or the right side of the mic, with this position changing. Because I can't keep myself stiff (I've tried), the recorded audio varies in quality. Talking directly to the centre of the mic will sound perfect, but when in any other position, such as the left or right side of the mic, you can barely hear me. And when I say I move to the left or right, these are only slight adjustments, nothing too drastic.
You might just want to change the setting of the microphone to Omni Directional or something. There's a setting on the microphone that registers all the different sides of the mic as the same type of noise and equally leveled. I'm not sure what it's called, but it's one of the notches on the microphone. Should be an easy fix.
I use the figure 8 setting, not the two circles that intercept, it works well for me
Just use a normalizing filter(compressor filter in OBS). Those are meant for balancing the volume whether you're yelling or whispering, so it'll totally compensate for your problem of moving your face away from the mic.
Great video... About to start a channel and I have this mic on its way, but my question is, how would these settings on my PC help me if I'm recording on my phone and/or a camera? Thanks a million and keep up the awesome work.
Did ever figure it out? If I’m understanding correct, if you’re using the mic straight to your phone (if that’s possible) you’d probably just have to use the standard mic settings , you can’t pass your PC settings unless you use your phone as a webcam on OBS and just plug in the mic to your PC like normal, you’d just mute your phone audio so it doesn’t get captured on OBS
I’m actually creaming over the quality of your voice and the deepness right now
Ok
this guys voice👌👌👌👌
:o thanks!
Hope it helped!
i was wondering why all the mics i bought sounded ass and while mirroring the sound i realized i had it too far from my mouth lmao- definitely investing into a microphone stand now.

Hey nice video thanks, im not sure if my mic is broken since ive bought it but when i put my Headset into the Audio slot from the mic they just explode like 5000dzb even in ngenuity on audio 1% , or am i missing something else?
Hi, can I equalize the headphones sound output from the 3.5mm jack of this mic via this software? Or in any case, is it possible to do it somehow?
I really need your input with my issue, how do I make it so that It can pick up loud noises such as clapping or yelling.
🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷👏🏻, One of the nicest USB mic!
I just bought a 14ft or 4.5meter usb-c to usb-c cable for my new “hyperx quadcast s” I have a ugreen usb c to usb a 3.0 adapter so I’m hoping that it will work. The meter or 10ft is just to o short for nice cable routing.otherwise I would need to leave the cable dangling under my sit/stand desk. I’ve bin googling like a mad man to see specs / limitations. Only thing I found was a nice article by audio-technica stating The USB 2.0 specification limits the length of a cable between USB 2.0 devices (full-speed or hi-speed) to 5 meters (or about 16 feet and 5 inches).. but the hyperx uses usb 3.0 so I searched if usb speeds between 2.0 o]vs 3.0 effect speed and the answer was no.. but I bought a high end usb 3.2 x2 cable supporting 20gbps but I’m using a 3.0 adapter haha so that will reduce the speed hopefully to regular 3.0. And I bought a pack of 20pcs ferrite ring ferrite cores for cable noise reduction. I didn’t o now the diameter of the cable so I thought buy a €11 pack just in case to replicate the hyperx cable.. fingers crossed
Thanks for the vid bro but i have a question about when im recording why does my mic cut out when i scream or laugh loudly??
The mic volume of the app is independent from the volume of the mic itself (the wheel at the bottom) so... I should just left the volume in the app at 100% and adjust the gain with the wheel?
Hi, which is your recommended configuration for a PS5 streaming? (I'm using the following settings: HyperX Quadcast on Cardioid mode, PS5 Mic Level 5/24 and HyperX Quadcast on 3rd volume knob), I appreciate your thoughts, thanks!

So I got the Quadcast S today, I’ve tried everything but just can’t get it to link with the hyper X software, it’s strange it works fine but it’s just not acknowledging it’s plugged in, when I try to do a Firmware update it’s saying plug in cable even though it’s already plugged in. I’ve tried everything!
my quadcast wont connect to the app. its plugged in my pc but still wont connect with the app. any advice?
If i pair this with a scarlett, should i max the gain on the mic and then use the gain dial on the scarlett for the final decision?

What do I do if the app doesnt detected my microphone in the first place? The Broadcast app only works on your PC if you have a RTX graphicscard.
What if we just take the mic and plug into another windows laptop and then get the software update there? Then can we come back and use it with Mac without having to put Windows on our Mac? I really dont wanna put Windows on my Mac...considering returning... Will the updates i do on the separate laptop still work in my Mac Studio?
Will these changes only work if I use it on a pc bc I wanna use it on my console. Can I make those changes in the settings of the mic and then plug it into the console and it be good?
idk why but i have my microphone connected, i have the red led one and it says that there is no connected hardware even though i plugged it into my pc than tried to plug it into my computer
