When Tadej wins he is always the best in the world, the perfect driver. Jonas won and people say we went back to the Armstrong days. Look at Jonas's curves and aerodynamics, he was simply better.
Yes i notice that Pogacar rides like a normal person Jonas like a airplane like a bird mutch better ❤
Phenomenal ride by Jonas! What a display of dominance. He knew every corner by heart, he went so aggressive from the first corner. And his position on his TT bike was sooo aero - must have spent hours in the wind tunnel and months of training to be able to perform comfortably in this position. He crushed it today! What a tour this year!

Excellent performance! Jonas Vingegaard, Hats off to you Man. 👍
The Viking winns-- Great Jonas..
Just as people were saying Pogacar will win the next ten Tour de Frances, Vingegaard appeared and said hold my beer.

Many doubted Jonás as Roglic wasn’t going to come to this year’s Tour as he was key in last years win. Jonas believed it and now he can see it, beating Pogacar ‘mano a mano’ heads up! Love to see the Dane show the world who’s the best rider in the world 🌎 This tour is one to remember for years to come, it’s not over but boy are the stars ✨ lining up for a special finale! 🐝💛⭐️

I hope the spectacle of this TDF continues well into Saturday because it has been fun, but Vin showed a lot of heart, not to mention power, in this ITT. Am I the only one hoping the results of this Tour aren't yet finalized? 😁
Yes(coming from a Dane😊)
I do think Pogačar will try something on Col de la Loze - he will not mentally be able to live with not doing it. I think he lost the pace and perhaps comfort when he changed the bike and did the climb in something like 5th best time - for sure he was drained when he passed the finish line. To be honest I hope he regains some power and continues to challenge Jonas, because he really deserves to be there. (Also from a Dane ;-:)
Oh, we all want excitement till ten meters from Champs Elysee. Of course we up here want to see Jonas win, but it's more important to me to see some competition and some amazing moments. So if Pogacar shows his teeth over the next couple of days, may the best man win! (And yes, we do love le Tour up here in Denmark hehe).
I really don't know what I saw today. Over 2:50 over the third place which belongs to Wout, belgium champ and top 3 in the world championships many times. Even in the first 17 km he was almost 2 minutes faster than him. This might be one of the best cycling performances of all time or one of the darkest days for cycling.
Yeah, I'm NOT one talking about doping, but this is like too much. That dominance is suspect. Pogacar was already over all the others, by far, and yet Vingegaard crushed him too - and all the rest looked like t hey didn't belong.

@@MVProfits "Yeah, I'm NOT one talking about doping, but this is like too much. That dominance is suspect. Pogacar was already over all the others, by far, and yet Vingegaard crushed him too - and all the rest looked like t hey didn't belong." It's because you're ignoring quite a few things, that objectively made a difference. 1. VG was more aggressive in cornering and descents. To the point of gaining 2 seconds on Pog by the first corner. 2. VG did better cornering and descents. 3. VG had the better form and thus better aerodynamics. 4. VG did not change bikes. Pog did change bikes and while it was a decent bike change, it still cost time 15 seconds plus. 5. It was a hot day and allegedly VG does better in the heat than Pog does. 6. VG said it was the best bike ride he ever did. 7. Pog said he struggled at the end. It all adds up to a major difference. VG might have been able to beat eg. Wout last year and this year Wout, while still great, seems to be not the same shape as last year. This years time trial were more for climbers than him. A much better question is why Pogacar and UAE kind of dropped the ball on this TT. You can't change the weather or the legs, but you can mitigate not dealing with the heat so well. You can pace yourself better to limit losses. You can practice cornering and descents for the particular time trial. You can work on the psychology to get the right amount of aggression etc. You can not change bikes. Pogacar could and should have done better.
Un par de kilómetros más y Vingegaard alcanza a a Poggy 😮

I have loved to see the battles between Tadej and TJV. That being said, this is one of the most bizarre TTs I have ever seen. This stage, putting almost 3:00 on WVA is... interesting to say the least. I am not making any direct accusations. This is just statistically significant.
Van Aert has been a shadow of his former self this tour… so don’t use him as a benchmark

Why did Pogacar ride a regular bike instead of a TT?
The TT-bikes are heavier and slower the steeper it gets.
He switched to the road bike at the base of the last climb
He switched bikes at the climb. Bad tactics in my opinion, but still probably does not win this TT no matter what. JV was on something different today.
Lighter on the climb, but it wouldn't have changed nothing
He started with a TT back, on the climb switched to a road bike

@@JimiHove if he was playing he wouldn't have let him drop at the tourmalet stage. He just recovered better on the day off, much much MUCH better
I find such an increase in performance highly suspicious. He took a difference of 2 minutes to the second and almost 9 minutes to the third. That's not possible.
1:38 to second, and 3 minutes to third. And as we saw it was possible.
Looks like Jonas won the genetic lottery for competing in TDF. what a crazy physique.
and he's got the best doctor. Don't fool yourself. Doping is widespread in the tour and to think the winner of it all is clean is just delusional.
@@briansrensen8204 you dont know that he has the best doctor. The winner isnt always the guy who has the best doping. Its as much about genetics, skill, tactics and equipment.
That is assuming they are doping. And if one is, then most of them most likely do it. Its equally delusional to claim that Jonas doesnt have an insane physique that can give him big advantages if used right.
@@briansrensen8204yea? Links? Proof?

Amazing how far chemistry has come, congrats to all the silent chemists out there making this possible 👍 Sad to see the toll it takes on these human test subjects, but I guess they're 'volunteers', so it makes it ok.
It's an even crazier performance than what Tadej did in 2020. To put almost 3 minutes into WVA in a relatively short time trial? Granted, Wout hasn't been the same as last year, but still. That's unbelievable.
Not just Wout, all of the TT specialists. It is hard to process for sure.
Can we please stop all that gibberish about 2020 TT? Absolutely nothing alike. Pogacar won by 1:21 over Dumolin over 36 km course then. Not 22 like today.
Is this the fastest time trial ever?
No, of course not. Flat TTs are always faster than mountain TTs.
bien joué armstrong !
Does anyone seriously really still believe "vinegar" isn't lit? 💉 Last time I saw this kind of PEDs my Arms weren't Strong. 😂
Vinegarard on Doping today? 🤷♂️😱
shame on you..nooo
Both Tadej and Jonas are about as equal as you can get. Jonas had a much faster bike designed by a group of scientists in my hometown of San Diego. This was a race between two bike manufacturers. That TT Cervello is horribly fast. It’s the number one Tri-bike.
Absolutely a big part of this!
A big part but not the only part. You don't take over a minute just because of a bike. You take over a minute because you simply are one of the best time trialists in the last 5 years and the best since the end of the tour last year
The bike might be great, but theres is no way that is such a big difference. UAE cant have bad bikes. Also 1:07 was made by Jonas from the bottom of the climb vs pogacar on roadbike which is lighter, he should have the better bike there, yet this is where jonas gained the most. we are talking few seconds if they have a more aero bike on the flats and descend.
@TellusJD go watch the side bh side. Jonas pedals at every opportunity. His.lines are so much cleaner. Plus his tt bike was specially prepared they scrapednofnthe paint. Sawed of parts of the stems for the handlebars and the seat post. His bike probably ended up below 8kg. So the weight difference is way less that people make it out to be.
@@squiglemcsquigle8414 Right his riding was cleaner on the first 17 minutes by far. But putting the time difference due to bikes is a different thing. It was known that the Weight wasnt that high on the Visma TT bike. However its still more than a kg to road bike. 1:05 was taken on the uphill vs pogacar on a roadbike. Thats just power difference not bike difference.
Pog may be a bit better on the incline but Jonas is just a much better rider over all.
That is a silly, silly statement.
@@WestCoastWilliam Based on what, exactly?
@@nicknic28292490 he was faster on both
Very likely the opposite statement is true. Pogi is a better all around rider, but Jonas is so much better a climber that it doesn’t matter how well Pogi can attack or sprint. We saw it in stage 14 where Pogi attacked and got a legitimate gap, but Jonas was able to just work his way back up at his own tempo
@nicknic28292490 based on stats, ranking and their respective achievements. I am a bit Vingegaard fan but to say he is a MUCH better rider than Pod is silliness.
JV should be disqualified - Surely that was a motorcycle he was riding! I cannot see TP bringing this back, but I hope he brings a real fight over the last few stages.
Still 4 stages to go. The spectacle is not over by any means. I think UAE’s best bet is to put Jumbo-Visma in difficulty in Stages 18,19,20. Remember, Jumbo-Visma is weakened after crashes. Tomorrow i say no chance Pogacar dropping Vingegaard on the climbs. He’s the strongest man. But it all comes down to tactics, one split it’s all it takes.
Hahahaha, how many times am I going to hear this. Every stage , singing the same song, but as he has done thus far jonas will be crashing expectations
Lmao 😂😂😂 I’ve been rooting for TP since day one but honestly he might as well just go home at this point, I don’t see any scenario where he overtakes JV. Tadej is a beast but Jonás is just on another level, sad but true.
Vingegaard is using drugs
He told you that ?
I usually never want to be guy who is bringing this into the table. Ive liked and appreciated Vingegaard so much, but that just seemed absolutely too SUS.
Agreed. I was rooting for Vingegaard but this bums me out because putting that big of time up on Pogacar in a 22k TT is majorly sus, especially after a rest day. Jumbo has some magical advantage on recovery or fueling, and we all know what that points to.
@@jaybobd Yea, UAE are 100% legit :)
@@jaybobd yeah... I mean the Tour has been amazing! Absolute legendary battle with these two guys... And like i said, i HATE to do this, but i just cant lie with my feelings right now, that seemed just too beastly of performance to be true... @@jaybobd i mean VINGEGAARD basiclly went 110% from start to finish, like an unhumanly beast. Zero energy consuming at all, like wtf😅😅
@@jaybobdfirst of all, this is not how doping works - you don't just swallow a magical pill and it works the next day. It is a slow and long process helping to recover faster, train longer and it slowly changes the properties of your physis. Secondly, just look at his position on the bike, he clearly is more aero than any of the other riders. Then look at how he took the first corner, the corners on the descend - all in from the start. Jumbo Visma also surely calculated that at short TT speeds aero beats weight and that swapping bikes would lose them time. This is how you win a TT. Long hours in the wind tunnel, knowing the exact course and how to take every corner and a phenomenal rider like Jonas.
I hope they test the top 3 or 5 cyclists. I am worried we may be going back to the Armstrong years. I sure i am wrong.
