The brain of prime Manchester United in the 1990s and 2000s, Paul Scholes was without a doubt one of the best players of all time. Total control of the game (passing, dribblling, ball control, finishing, etc.), divine talent, immeasurable intelligence, extraordinary technique, unreal vision, sublime speed of thought. Master, absolute genius!
1000% agreeeeeeee with your mention
u finish WORK
Towards the end of his time at MU, I think it was a cup game vs Arsenal. He didn't start, but came on as a fairly late substitute. Within minutes he had been involved in multiple tackles, pushes, shoving and a yellow (IIRC). In the same timeframes, he was centre of multiple passing triangles, and from memory he delivered at least 3 world class level passes putting people in on goal. And I mean worldy passes. One in particular was made from a pass that had to be volleyed. I watched MU and supported them through the Scholes era. He made watching them worth its weight in gold. I absolutely loved that he put in the work, put his foot in, was willing to tackle, scrap and fight, and if fouled did not roll about. He'd get up and kick someone. And when the ball was at his feet he'd knit all the game together, short, medium, long. Privileged to have watched and been a fan. An absolute monster player in our golden era.
Players like this dont exist anymore 😭
If u mix kroos, Modric and Casemiro this exactly what u find
While also having a higher open-play goalscoring rate than Frank Lampard Absurd midfielder
One of the cleanest strikers of the ball I have ever seen. Ginger Prince
He was so good that Sir Alex called him outta retirement to help the team out 💯💯💯
One of the last number 8's in football. Complete player in all terms possible. I was glad to see him play when soccer was still fun to watch. All i see today is guys running at a fast pace with no REAL tecnique whatsoever. Paul had tecnique, ability, passing vision, outside area shot,, great ball control, great wisdom and knowledge for the game, was a very good defender, was always in the right spot etc GREAT PLAYER! WE WILL MISS AND ALL WAYS LOVE THESE TYPES OF PLAYERS :( GRANDI PAUL SCHOLES! A BIG HUG FROM A FOOTBALL FAN OF PERÚ.
The footballers footballer. A soft spoken genius and the clock that made United tick. Every young player can learn so much by watching his footage.
FIRST NAME ON THE TEAM SHEET WITHOUT A DOUBT...
el mejor centrocampista ingles de todos los tiempos y el mejor en su generacion, los demas solo son pretendientes !LO SIENTO!
incredible player 🔝♥️
Baller
Great video, Paul Scoles, the best CM of all time in my opinion! Can you make a video of Michael Carrick next, he is very underrated!
We England chucked him on the left wing, like we chuck maddison on left wing
Nice video, but when it comes to the music for montages, the beat of the song is more important than the lyrics Let’s see a Van Persie montage
Mainoo can be our new Scholes.
I think he will be our new Keane.
@@iancoughlan5 i think its going to be a long time before we can call him either but i wait and hope because hes got a lot of potential but their wont be another scholes or keane just a mainoo
1st name in my dream team
1:27 is one the best passes ive ever seen. He cuts through the ball so he gets spin on the ball so it stops just in front of Owen. Its like a golf shot. Owens first touch was poor, a better first touch and he'd have been one v one with the keeper
The assist for Ian Wright is a similar pass; perfectly aimed, and has enough backspin that it bounces up for Wright to smash it on the volley without breaking stride. Like you said, it's like a golf shot rather than a mere football pass!
It is one thing to be able to make those passes, most players could hit those balls, the real skill is seeing them before the opportunity even exists.
Also, when it comes to the long passes, being able to hit them hard and low is an underrated skill. Rooney loved playing those types of passes as he got older and played a bit further back, but his were more high, lofted crossfield passes that took longer to arrive, and allowed the other team a crucial second or two to adjust.
Top 5 all time midfielders in the world

I started watching this guy in the early naughties and he was fu***g brilliant in almost every game.

Hey kids, repeat after me, "Christiano Ronaldo wasn't the best player at United, Paul Scholes was, period."
Fantastic video, i want use the first song for my next video
The first song is royalty
Scholes, Lampard, Gerrard debate is over.
Was there really a debate to begin with? Cheers 👍
Imagine putting KDB in the same category as this guy. Crazy. Paul Scholes was on another level. There's a reason the best ever team ever to grace the football pitch (peak Barca) watched DVDs of Paul Scholes. He was it.
So you actually believed that story?😂
Talent-wise it's fair to put them in the same category, but they play in different positions and different tactics. KDB is a better winger, Scholes is a better central midfielder. They might be equally good in the nr 10 position, but neither have actually played there very much.
i'm well aware of who my choices are of The EPL's Greatest Midfielders of All-Time & here are my 4: L=Lampard, CL=Scholes, CR=Gerrard, R=Beckham; subs: Kevin De Bruyne & Roy Keane
Gênio pouco mencionado hoje em dia
