  • Did my homework and feel sad for Chambers. Who clearly beat Adamek with literally only one arm, Chambers is clearly a legend of the sport, especially knowing how small he is for a HW. This shows how priceless your tutorials are, I improved since started following your videos series. Thanks again for all those tips.

  • Thank you Coach Anthony for giving me and my fellow southpaw boxers some love. On a good note, in my opinion, the greatest of all time, Sen. Manny “Pac-Man” Pacquiao (greatest because he is history’s only Professional Champion in 8 different weight divisions) has an excellent lead left cross that he throws and unleashes on his opponents. He does it similar to “Fast” Eddie Chambers, but does it with a back skip out in respect to his footwork. For us southpaw boxers, the lead left is also a good counter punch attack to the orthodox boxer’s right hand, when us southpaws throw our lead left hand while slipping our head to the right (avoiding the orthodox straight right and/or jab). Once again, thank you Coach Anthony and my fellow boxer and champion “Fast” Eddie Chambers for your awesome videos 😎. Yes, you guys definitely have great chemistry! Also, you guys make our sport awesome and fun! You all have a great sense of humor. 😂 Most honestly and sincerely, Jeff “Rattlesnake” Railey 5X Champion Masters Amateur Boxer

  • It is a secret that you can lead with either hand....and you can use the right lead as a jab. Not just as a power punch.....Roy and Mayweather did it all the time. That's why Roy put away the jab for a lot of his fights. Particularly Mayweather vs Pacquiao and Roy vs Reggie Johnson. Mayweather lead off both hands. Imagine having 2 jabs instead of 1 to keep your opponent in check. It's a secret in a way that the jab is not the only tool in boxing that is most important. In a way you can put away the jab and not even use it but still have the lead hand available. The angles are different but once you are circling the right way or maintaining the right distance the lead hand whether right or left can still control the opponent.

  • I want to suggest you this, very important for beginners: Make a video where you make someone stand in fromt of the camera (POV) in a boxing stance and teach where one should aim their punches at. It’s easy to hit the heavybag but in a sparring situation you have the arms of the guy protecting him, the head is far, sometimes only the chest/lower stomach is available.

    • for that situation, its more important to find ways to open your opponent up. there are many ways, example: - the most common is counter punch, throw a fast punch before or within your opponents jab,etc. Your opponent is open when they throw a punch (simple concept) - Throw 3 jabs to the body, the next time he lowers his guard, ready to throw the right cross to the head. - 2 jabs, then on your 3rd jab, push your opponents glove downwards then immediately throw a right hook (Lomachenko does this a lot) - just throw body shots like crazy lol

  • I think a sneaky, quick, lead right is a fantastic tool particularly for those that have that natural attribute. Personally, i do... so I'd be toss at explaining how to throw it. For me though, I throw it from a nearly balanced, fairly short, foot width with a light rocking lean towards the lead leg and a quick rock back to over my rear hip. Like you said, my retreat is based entirely on the situation. I also may take a tiny lead feint step before I throw it.

  • Coach, I've been taught to pop the job from the hip(being a short arse helps me get more range, and taught its efficient in terms of body mechanics), where a lot of gyms I've been in teach to jab while stepping in the first lesson. I find it very confusing when holding mits for people, especially where they step with the jab I've been taught to " move and hit, hit and move"(to seperate the hands from the feet, keeping it tidy), could you maybe break down this in a vid? Love your videos! much love from Uk.

    @PBas-qq4uh@PBas-qq4uh3 жыл бұрын
  • You can do this, if you see your opponent about to throw a lazy jab. Hit em with the lead right hand as soon as you the their arms open up a bit. You won't get hit with your opponents jab since you are leaning to your lead foot and you got your right arm blocking it. Just need to watch out for the right upper or hook afterwards.

  • You can also tug at the belt line of your trunks and throw the lead right from that hand position to mix it up. See Roy Jones vs James Toney. Ppl thought Roy just had a habit of tugging at his own shorts, but it was to cause a feint and bang, blind lead right or leaping left hook at your dome.

But when I sparr, do mittwork, and work the bag i feel more comfortable fighting the Shoulder Roll style, its that something bad, should i stop doing it and practice the traditional stance or should do both?
