With Real their "being smacked around" is very relative considering the worst position they have had in the last 20 years is 3rd. I don't think in any point either team has neglected the domestic league in favour of the Champions League. Sometimes cup competions just work out better for teams, that maybe aren't having the most consistant season otherwise. Just look at any domestic cup. Athelic Bilbao won Copa del Rey last Saturday, but hardly anyone would say that makes them the strongest team in Spain in 2024.

As a barca fan, I can't be more excited than us starting to trust la masia again, more than when we splashing money like a madmen. That's how many barca fans or me at least, in love with the club to begin with. Maybe it takes next 5-10 years but this generation of la masia will be legendary if they're nurtured well. You may be already heard names like Cubarsi, Balde, Gavi, Guiu, Fort and Yamal. But there's still talent like Guille, Bernal, Noah Darvich, Baba Kourouma and Faye in our academy.

I'm a Real Madrid fan and I don't think Barça are nearly as bad as some people seem to think, they had a rough patch, but every team eventually goes through one, and it seems to be mostly over now. Still, I think the financial issues are much worse than some people seem to think, and I don't think it's going to get better any time soon. Bartomeu really is the one at fault here, but I really don't think Laporta is taking the right approach, going for a short term solution that could backfire in the longterm if they don't significant success over the next couple years. And while, as a RM fan, part of me wants them to fail as badly as possible, the truth is RM and barça need each other (and La Liga needs them both as much as that seems to disgust so many people). The prospect of them having to convert from a club to a privately owned or mixed model, that would have been something unthinkable only a couple years back, seems to be more of a possibility every day, and I do think it would be very sad if it ends up happening.

It's not good for Real either if Barca can't recover, as you will have a PSG, Bayern situation where the domestic league is very weak, and its not a good preparation for the CL + it will also lead to weaker tv rights..etc meaning la liga teams will fall further behind EPL in terms of spending power.

You seem curious enough about football for me to suggest diving into the depths of our so called financial issues. Something of an understatement to my mind. Outside of hardcore Barca fans there are actually very few football fans who actually have an understanding of the situation itself. The same ignorance can be said of a lot of media from outiside of Spain too And it’s because the situation is very complex and getting unbiased reports is exceedingly difficult in Spain due to the notorious strife between the Madrid media and the Barca media. The same difficulties arise when talking of the Negreira case, our so called bribing of the referees for 18yrs. Same ignorances and false narratives by media outlets. The bottom line is; that I think what our old president did to the club is easily one of the biggest mismanagements in the history of any sport, and I’d definitely go so far as to say it’s blatant corruption what he and his board did is simply too incredible for it too be ‘’mismanagement’’. I think they knew what they were doing. The league also let him to whatever he wanted and we didn’t start getting sanctions before after he was gone. Something I find a little funny. Barca fans, like myself are quite confident that there’s a clear bias in the Spanish football federation towards certain clubs. People of those certain clubs would of course refute this but that’s a whole other story. Video or not, could be something to look into; if you’re interested💯

Barca were horrendous in the first half of the season, especially defensively. Goal scoring wise it wasn't that good either, but in the second half both things have improved quite a bit. The turning point seemed to be to have Christensen play as a defensive midfielder, to create some stability for the defense, where they would be headless chickens before that, conceding so many fast goals. La Masia is of course another huge part of things going the right way, with Lamine Yamal and Cubarsi being incredible in particular.

Exactly, Barca have suffered so much from Busquets leaving, the lack of a true pivot made our entire game unstable, and neither De Jong nor Gündogan are *really* able to fill that role. Both amazing players, but not for that position. It was only when Xavi discovered that Christensen makes for a really good pivot that Barcas form started to improve significantly

The thing with comparing Barca and Madrid and saying madrid is gonna dominate is that stars don’t matter, it’s all about passion and of course tactics, just look at the mid two thousands with real madrid: zidane, figo, R9, makelele, raul, casillas, roberto carlos, cannavaro and beckham. Against Barcelona: ronaldinho, eto’o and a bunch of la masia kids. Real Madrid’s best result in the ucl between 2002 and 2006 was the quarter finals, while barca won a ucl against one of the greatest English teams of all time, the invincibles. also real won a grand total of 0 laligas and barca won 1. another great example is Leicester, which i don’t need to explain😅

FC Barcelona first team is made up of mostly players that play (mostly 1st 11 players) for their National teams and we talking about, France (FIFA Ranking 2-Kounde), Brazil (5-Raphinha), Portugal (6-Cancelo & Felix), Netherlands (7-De Jong), Spain (8-Gavi, Pedri, Balde, Yamin & now Curbasi), Uruguay (15-Araujo), Germany (16-Ter Stegen, Gundagan), Denmark (21-Christensen), Poland (28-Lewangoalski one of the best in the game). The core of the squad is made up of top class players who start for their national teams. The talent is there in abundance they are better and we should expect them to even be better than they are. They should be beating most teams in Europe as they are currently doing because player for player they match or better most teams in Europe. They should be competitive against Madrid and Manchester City as they have shown against Madrid even with a squad not all 100%.

Good video! But the narrative around Barca is correct, Real have 3x the budget to spend on players. With Mbappe and Endrick coming in with many more to follow Barca fans are rightfully scared for the coming years. @@sumomaster5585 Because of the strict rules of LaLiga and the great work of our former president We have spent a lot of money on players from 2015-2020 and haven‘t sold anything besides neymar at the beginning. Plus the salarys were around 90% or more of the clubs income alone That together with the debts the club had and still has (reduced by a lot) ended up that LaLiga has removed our 1:1 rule on the transfermarket… so you have to generate 40mio from transfers or revenues to buy a player for 40 mio. Barca has a 2:1 rule rn which means they have to generate 80mio by transfers to buy a player for 40 mio This rule is also connected with the salary cap which will be around 270mio for the summer When Laporta took over we had around 700-800mio/year only for salarys It‘s at 300mio or somewhere in that area now but they still have to reduce it to get below the new limit this summer to even register players in LaLiga Barcelona is the club in europe who generated the highest + the last 2 years Also i don‘t know if you have realised it but besides Real Madrid and Girona (which is a manchester City club) everyone have struggled hard the last 2 years on the transfermarket and even had to sell some of their best players to register their current players for the next season cause of laligas strict rules

So much not said with this video. First Barca dominated Madrid all of last outside of 1 game. Yes Madrid did beat this this year but we will.see who is bettter now come the classico on the 21st. Also barca won the league and super cup over madrid last year so 1 bad year doesnt put barca miles behind madrid just as 1 bad year for Liverpool didnt put them way behind city this year. 2: Barca has money instead its la ligas harsh FFP rules which allow clubs to opperate at a overly restrictive deficit. I'm a Real Madrid fan and I don't think Barça are nearly as bad as some people seem to think, they had a rough patch, but every team eventually goes through one, and it seems to be mostly over now. Still, I think the financial issues are much worse than some people seem to think, and I don't think it's going to get better any time soon. Bartomeu really is the one at fault here, but I really don't think Laporta is taking the right approach, going for a short term solution that could backfire in the longterm if they don't significant success over the next couple years. And while, as a RM fan, part of me wants them to fail as badly as possible, the truth is RM and barça need each other (and La Liga needs them both as much as that seems to disgust so many people). The prospect of them having to convert from a club to a privately owned or mixed model, that would have been something unthinkable only a couple years back, seems to be more of a possibility every day, and I do think it would be very sad if it ends up happening.
It's not good for Real either if Barca can't recover, as you will have a PSG, Bayern situation where the domestic league is very weak, and its not a good preparation for the CL + it will also lead to weaker tv rights..etc meaning la liga teams will fall further behind EPL in terms of spending power.

You seem curious enough about football for me to suggest diving into the depths of our so called financial issues. Something of an understatement to my mind. Outside of hardcore Barca fans there are actually very few football fans who actually have an understanding of the situation itself. The same ignorance can be said of a lot of media from outiside of Spain too And it’s because the situation is very complex and getting unbiased reports is exceedingly difficult in Spain due to the notorious strife between the Madrid media and the Barca media. The same difficulties arise when talking of the Negreira case, our so called bribing of the referees for 18yrs. Same ignorances and false narratives by media outlets. The bottom line is; that I think what our old president did to the club is easily one of the biggest mismanagements in the history of any sport, and I’d definitely go so far as to say it’s blatant corruption what he and his board did is simply too incredible for it too be ‘’mismanagement’’. I think they knew what they were doing. The league also let him to whatever he wanted and we didn’t start getting sanctions before after he was gone. Something I find a little funny. Barca fans, like myself are quite confident that there’s a clear bias in the Spanish football federation towards certain clubs. People of those certain clubs would of course refute this but that’s a whole other story. Video or not, could be something to look into; if you’re interested💯

Barca were horrendous in the first half of the season, especially defensively. Goal scoring wise it wasn't that good either, but in the second half both things have improved quite a bit. The turning point seemed to be to have Christensen play as a defensive midfielder, to create some stability for the defense, where they would be headless chickens before that, conceding so many fast goals. La Masia is of course another huge part of things going the right way, with Lamine Yamal and Cubarsi being incredible in particular.
Exactly, Barca have suffered so much from Busquets leaving, the lack of a true pivot made our entire game unstable, and neither De Jong nor Gündogan are *really* able to fill that role. Both amazing players, but not for that position. It was only when Xavi discovered that Christensen makes for a really good pivot that Barcas form started to improve significantly

@@sumomaster5585 Because of the strict rules of LaLiga and the great work of our former president We have spent a lot of money on players from 2015-2020 and haven‘t sold anything besides neymar at the beginning. Plus the salarys were around 90% or more of the clubs income alone That together with the debts the club had and still has (reduced by a lot) ended up that LaLiga has removed our 1:1 rule on the transfermarket… so you have to generate 40mio from transfers or revenues to buy a player for 40 mio. Barca has a 2:1 rule rn which means they have to generate 80mio by transfers to buy a player for 40 mio This rule is also connected with the salary cap which will be around 270mio for the summer When Laporta took over we had around 700-800mio/year only for salarys It‘s at 300mio or somewhere in that area now but they still have to reduce it to get below the new limit this summer to even register players in LaLiga Barcelona is the club in europe who generated the highest + the last 2 years Also i don‘t know if you have realised it but besides Real Madrid and Girona (which is a manchester City club) everyone have struggled hard the last 2 years on the transfermarket and even had to sell some of their best players to register their current players for the next season cause of laligas strict rules
