After a long weekend in the UK to do some plane spotting and travel on some rare aircraft, it was time to head back to the states. Booked a flight in Upper Class on Virgin Atlantic to Atlanta. Here is the takeoff from London Heathrow - runway 27L. Enjoy!
Airline - Virgin Atlantic
Aircraft - A350-1000
Registration - G-VPRD "Rain Bow"
Seat - 11K
Route - LHR-ATL
Date - January 2024
Airplanes never fail to impress me. I always wonder what someone from the past would make of this. We are very lucky to be alive right now.
As much as I fly, it still amazes me every-time I step onboard one.
Very true 😊
Was just thinking precisely the same.
Precisely the thought that struck me as I gazed down upon the Alps from 30,000 ft on a flight to Rome. Just how improbable was it, for me to be born at precisely this point in the long history of this planet, in this particular galaxy, so that I could experience the surreal joy of air travel?
It's always exciting when you make that final turn onto the runway
I love to see these videos taken within the cabin of large passenger jets. It saves me having to be in one. I used to love flying. In latter years I`ve given away the chances I`ve had in having European holidays paid for me - and being given spending money whilst somewhere abouts the Mediterranian coast. If I was on that plane now and some passenger close to me asked, " have we far to go," after a minute from take - off I`d likely reply, " no - a matter of a few hundred meters or so, that`s all ...." That`s how scared I`ve become of flying.
Me: Trying to enjoy engine roar Cabin crew: Let’s do the annoucement!
Don’t understand why EU/Asian airlines like to make an announcement a minute after takeoff 🤦🏻♂️
@@nstreet_photography Yes I agree, especially british carriers do that..
@@nstreet_photography This is not an EU/Asian airline.
@@nipafilms236 If it's British then it is not EU or asian, is it.
Awesome video! Perfect seat for an engine view & the A350 is just 👌
I prefer it over the 787
Went on Virgin A350-1000 last year to JFK and returned from MCO. Fabulous aircraft
Brilliant. As an AvGeek I really appreciate this video. Nice view out of the window too.
Extra points of interest 1. The queue of aircraft behind the subject. 2. The other aircraft landing while subject aircraft is approaching V1 and rotate. 3. The shadow on the ground of the subject aircraft. 4. The sheer number of aircraft parked around the terminals. 5. The turn and take-off. 6. The engine roar.
thats one of the best engine growls i've ever heard! great video!
Love Rolls Royce engines.
That rarest of things, a sunny day in Britain.
In my experience the A350 is the 2nd most comfortable aircraft to fly on (after the A380) - ironically, though, this is the noisiest place in the A350 cabin to sit, in Business/Upper Class just forward of the engine inlet.
Sounds daft but i really like seeing the shadow of the plane, nice catch!
Me too!
Rolls XWB power… 👌
I flew on the Virgin Atlantic A350-1000 series last May to Orlando from Manchester, a fabulous aircraft indeed. I was due to fly with THAI airways on an A350-900 series a couple of years ago, but their delivery of the aircraft was late so flew on their Boeing 777-300ER's to Bangkok from Heathrow instead.👍👍
What a sound! I love it.
What a sound!
The hot rod red engines are so cool on Virgin Atlantic planes
As hard as I ever accelerate I can never get my Ghost to sound like this......
That wing flex at lift off tho!!
Great wee bit of video footage, buddy.🤝👍
Love the shadow getting smaller and smaller
Buzztastic sounds
Fantastic video
Lovely vid!
Noisier inside the plane than outside.

What runway was for takeoff
A perfect vid seeing the engine and the shadow cast by the sun on the port side of the plane. I just wish cabin crew would be quiet sometimes until they pullback take off thrust and then they wont sound so screachy. 👍
Agreed!
3:05 - Windsor Castle.
Haha I like the planes shadow as it’s taking off. Great vid 👍🏻. Tell you what I like too them prop planes when they land the pilots manoeuvre them with ease.
It was a beautiful day to fly!
And it's an Airbus so nothing's going to fall off.
Wonder if those engines are the XWB 84 or 97? Either way, they sure are loud and growly!
Do a google search on the registration…
Windsor Castle and the private grounds at 3.00
sounds like they have to work pretty hard to get to cruising altitude.

Great video what seat position is this ?
Info is in the description
@@nstreet_photographythx sorry I forgot to click the more button. I’m going on 350 soon and this seat position is perfect so wanted to know. Thx agsin
@@gwalker3092 Ahhh I’ve never clicked on ‘ more’ button before, I see lots of info 👍🏻 cheers.
how much of that thing is carbon-fibre, basically surfboard material? The funniest picture of a 787 is the one with duct tape on the starboard wing.
Weird, so if you spend a little more money, you get engines that work and do not flame out or fall apart during flight? Does anyone boeing know this?
Boeing don’t make engines though.
@YelpBullhorn so glad you commented after not understanding what I said one bit, always need a good laugh.
@@tylerdurden4006 well it was a joke, so well done to you for getting it. Buy yourself a badge.
@@YelpBullhorn lol, sure it was 😉
You know how many CFM56s have been produced? And that it's the airline that's responsible for maintenance like making sure cowlings are closed correctly?
Almost as good as its predecessor the RB211.
Almost…but that is the King of engines. Lol
Preferred to have been behind on the BA A380 but a nice video. Terrible cabin announcement that the worst I have ever heard
A380 is probably my least favorite plane. Side walls are too thick for photography, and the upper deck picks up quite a bit of “swaying” motion in flight.
It kinda makes me worried that maybe we really aren't meant to be flying...
You would have wings
@@tomjardine100 I'll need to request those next time...
Sounds quite unhealthy. 737 max has quieter engines
What a horrible noise! It sounds like it desperately needs a full top-up of engine oil.
imagine hearing that for 6hrs + 😂
