"Why not, we're teaching you?" She has restraints, and armed guards surrounding her. The Xenomorphs had their containment and stream bathes. What you taught them is patience, methodical thinking, and discipline. Not tricks.
No, they have observational learning; whatever they can use in their environment, they will use, like how the Queen used an elevator after seeing how it worked, or the liquid nitrogen weapon used to pacify them to kill a man.
@@Aggression-hc3yp u can learn patience, methodical thinking, and discipline from observational learning
I actually felt bad for the xeno that got killed for its acid to break the cage. And the disagreement and horror of the xeno about to be killed for it. That was actually really interesting it showed how they talk and are ruthless. Kill each other for the greater good of the many.
That line carries more weight than "She'll Breed, You'll Die". I also heard that the latest Alien movie is making progress and I can't wait. But the modern ones can't compare to the first 4.

I remember that most of us in the audience at the cinema laughed as soon as he said “Once we tame it”
That happened where I saw it, too! I saw it the first week of release and I think the audience was packed with Aliens fans. A lot of us thought the basketball shot was rigged, too. Seeing the outtakes for that scene blew my mind.
That first doctor is Grima Wormtongue from the lord of the rings.
Hah! Wormtongue was my nickname for Sean Spicer, KellyAnne Conway, Sarah Huckabee Sanders...hell, it works for all Trumpy's press secretaries.
He also played a Betazoid serial killer who was a Starfleet officer in Star Trek Voyager.
His name is Brad Dourif. He was also in 'One flew over the cuckoo's nest', if you can remember back that far.
And Dune.
Brad Dourif, father of Fiona Dourif (😍)
The sad part is that the first doctor really believed in the science and potential but when the xenos broke out he just succumbed to madness; he was really compassionate to Ripley and saw her not as a byproduct but as a person; sad but also genius of a mini story ark
more likely he realized it was hopeless to contain them, better to let "Ripley" go because she stands the best chance of having their work survive.
First dude voices Chucky.
Yeah, if you subscribe to the theory that Gediman was the Newborn alien’s father it’s easy to see how dedicated he was to his work.
I agree except for one thing. Don't mistake compassion with curiosity. He didn't go mad in the end - he disassociated himself with the risks. He didn't understand what he was fostering. This seems hard to believe that a man of intelligence could find himself inside such an absolute vacuum - but that's the quality for which he was chosen. Not likely scientific merit, not likely his pedigree - his blithe obliviousness to the truth. Only madmen would sign up for a mission that was top secret, on a ship, that involved illegal research and gene tampering of such a high degree... and then follow that path this far. It's why his hands shake when he goes to terminate them with the safety protocol - he hesitated, because that's what the military wanted. They want men who will hesitate to kill these creatures because to the military, they only see the potential weaponization - not their actual potential. The scientists were goaded in by the promise of fortune, not just riches and glory, but the bevy of scientific possibility. They have no concept what it actually is because they've fixated on the sum of its parts - not the ultimate capability of the species, of which they have not yet observed. This incredulity dates back to the beginning of Alien - none of them have ever seen an Alien. Nobody has. The survivors of Alien 3 were prisoners, they wouldn't believe them anymore than they would have believed Ripley. Bishop, the person, would be the only person who believed in it and his accounts are all secondhand - he was a fringe scientist, and likely as deluded as the rest towards the actual capability. They really just plain don't know, they suspect, but it's easier in life to be oblivious and it washes over even the smartest people. We need that to survive. Yet none of them fathomed what could happen here, that this creature may supercede any natural creature in existence. It sounds silly, but this is the same story. Conscience and science don't go well together, despite sharing the same letters. You can note this in their very first exchange quite clearly when Ripley says "F***" and he says, "Fork". It's not just a joke. Ripley's hyper sexualized in this film, because her DNA has been crossed with the Xeno's. She has an instinct to breed that's far more advanced than the original Ripley - it's a compulsion. It's a new tick. It's why it's her first word. It's why she knows the first one born would be a Queen and not a regular Xeno. It's also because she's just starting to use her intelligence, and she realizes they are all screwed. The instincts are tied together - breed, destroy. That's what Xeno's destroy, in that order. That's why the first kills in the first movie were dragged off to be used for breeding. Breed. Kill. "F***ed". This went entirely over this scientist's head, because he has no idea what he's made. None of them do. He can't even "see" her in front of his eyes. In all fairness, they likely don't know this species was created to be the ultimate destroyer of worlds, they can't know that this things biology is so adept - they're lost in the forest and can't see the trees anymore. If this man was compassionate, he would've asked, "Why did you say fuck?" given that she clearly has motor functions, you can see it in her eyes, she's awake, aware, and observing. There's no reason that "Fuck" would be her first word, it's conspicuous - but his urge is to teach, to take control of the conversation. He's smart, curious, downright affectionate but... Obsession and compassion are pretty hard to distinguish, it's the age old poets dilemma. This movie has issues but there's some thought put into the script that goes way over people's heads - I often think over the production's heads too. "She'll breed. You'll die." It sounds like a badass line, but it's the instinct coming out. If he was compassionate, he would have said, "Where Ripley died" but he says, "Where you died". That's a callous remark considering he should disassociate Ripley from Ripley 2, it's also scientifically inaccurate. She's not Ripley. But he can't see that - it's also why he tries to correct her about the Fork. He cares about what's in front of his face and not what's really happening. If he had compassion though... he would've killed her immediately. Ripley is far more dangerous than the Xeno's in this building - her DNA being crossed, even slightly, with the Xeno's means that she carries with her a biological imperative. Ripley, if they'd read her dossier - was abject at the loss of her children. Psychological she's unstable, but let's say it all goes well, the Xeno's are captured and made docile --- in the end, Ripley would need to be killed because she carries with her far greater concerns. Her new DNA can be used to made Xeno's indefinitely, and horrifyingly, Xeno's adapt. God knows what she'll become in time, as her biology "adapts" to being partially human. Ripley 2 here wouldn't likely let that happen, but any scientist with any compassion at all would see the risk. Which is exactly why she's surrounded with soldiers, inmates, test subjects and absolutely soulless scientists. She wouldn't have been created any other way. Anyone who applied a psych profile to this discussion would immediately point out that Ripley had children before - and would likely again, and if she does so, she may end up breeding Xeno's via her children despite her best efforts.... or something "worse" given that she carries the same mentality as they do deep down. They can't even see the inhumanity of this Ripley, and if they had - they would've terminated her as hard as they'd terminate the Xeno's. We all like this character but post Alien Resurrection the "future" for that character is extremely, extremely, extremely perilous. ...... the script was definitely "there", even if the movie went way off the rails. Lots of great details here.
@@BigMac8000 That was a hell of a read, thanks for the perspective. It seems like the writers definitely got screwed in favor of showing dumb action and gore.

@@ShokoDemon They certainly were warranted. This movie is trash. The first 2/3 is a goodish sci-fi action adventure flick then the last 1/3 is a dumpster fire. @Alex M Yes it had, but so did this movie (and even Alien 3 to some degree) Look one can easily argue that after Aliens we havent gotten 1 worthy successor in this franchise. But I would say I could still enjoy even watching Resurrection and Prometheus despite their flaws....they are nowhere near as great though obviously as Alien and Aliens those are the only 2 true classics in this franchise. But Prometheus could have been great way to start this trilogy of prequels to Alien, unfortunately Ridley Scott kind of dropped the ball with Alien Covenant. But ye for me Resurrection is more of a "guilty pleasure" movie than serious followup to the previous 3 movies, while with Covenant...well unless Scott or someone else would come up with great follow up to that, I will just ignore it entirely and just watch Prometheus as stand alone prequel even if it doesnt explain everything.
Yep this movie gotta be a prototype for the alien convenient
This ripley reminds me of joker a little bit. I watched this after I watched joker, so that’s why I say it. What I mean by her reminding me of joker is that it feels like she has nothing left to lose. Nothing can hurt her anymore. She’s just given up on it all and has no reason to care.
The thing is, the "Ripley" that we see here isn't entirely human. How much of her is "Ripley" and how much is the Xenomorph is open to debate. I feel that it isn't so much that she's given up on it all and doesn't care, as that she (like the xenomorphs in containment) is biding her time, learning, and waiting for the right moment. She knows that things will get out of hand eventually, and that that will give her the chance to escape. She also knows that her warnings of the same will be ignored, since the people in charge are so inherently arrogant that they will inevitably screw things up.
The most evil mega corporation in the galaxy : Walmart 🤣
I don;'t get the haters. This is one of my favorite films. Definitely better than Alien 3 in my opinion. Aliens had James Camerons T2 style, Ridley of course has dibs on the original. This one was gritty. Mad at Ridley for the new films.
I have to admit. I have a soft spot for this entry in the franchise. It's cheesy. It's acting is all over the place. But in terms of vibe, and human hubris, and the ramshackle crew that banters, it feels more like an Alien movie than any of the Alien vs. Predator movies, and imo was a better story than Alien 3. (Alien 3 looked fantastic, and I give all the props to the Director for style and getting all he could from his cast, but all the studio interference in that movie, nobody but James Cameron could have saved that movie).
Under NO circumstances did the 3rd installment need 'saving'. Disagree completely.
The story for this one arguably wasn’t bad, it was the direction and some really cheesy lines (“who do I have to fvck to get off this ship”) that needed changing. It’s too bad David Fincher didn’t direct this one instead, lol

@@nodeberiaestaraqui93It was worth it, only on account that we got this hilarious mess of a movie.
So she doesn't remember what's the name for the fork, but she remembers all about "the company". Very logical.
She remembers the name of the fork just fine. She’s just keeping her cards close. If they continue to underestimate her it gives her an advantage.
This is exactly how my grandmother's brain works after a mild stroke.
@@voidseeker4394😂😂
@@corvus8638 that's not that funny when you see it irl.
@@voidseeker4394 I thought you were making of OP for their lack of comprehension. Sorry about that.
Sigourney one of the best actresses
Really love the mess hall scene "Something of a predator, isn't she?" "Yes,she continues to make us all, very proud "😂😂
The death of the newborn was horrific
Fiorina 161, not "Fury 16", Fury was just a nickname.
@b_senn_ do you realize he made a mistake as a "character"?
never listen to film critics (especially nowadays) this is a fun sequel
Brad Dourif is a national treasure.
Frenchman here, before watching Resurrection I had the chance to watch all other previous Jean-Pierre Jeunet's movies and that's crazy how you find his particular touch in this Alien movie. That's what I like particularly with the Alien movies (1 to 4, I purposely ignore the rest) it that every director had the chance to bring his touch, that makes 4 really different movies but I couldn't tell that one of them is bad. Inferior to the others okay, but definitely not bad
I didn't see much of his work, but I did see City of Lost Children before watching this, and even with that limited exposure I could see his touch. [And including a couple of his favorite actors helped too ;)]
As a French Canadian I very much agree with you. Delicatessen is a great and wonderfully weird film. Jeunet has such a distinct and strong visual flair that choosing him to direct and Alien film was a perfect choice. I think the problem was that too many people were fighting over the script.
One of the things I like about alien resurrection is how it explores more of the bad side of humanity, could have been executed better but I like how we see that these scientists and the betty crew are bad people!
The crew of the Betty had no delusions about the morality of their actions. The knew they where scum and where OK with that status.
I'm old, I've lived a long time, I've found that the bad side of humanity is the dominant side!
And the Ripley clone between the 2 evil groups. Really interesting their dynamic.
I love how Weaver (I will not butcher the spelling of her first name) portrays 8 slightly differently. Similar to the cool confidence of a feline. Like a predator, a term she is referred by in the movie. I think it’s cool as it lets us know that she not only has a bit of Xenomorph DNA, 8 also has a bit of the predatory instincts. Along with the way 8 moves and interacts with things of course
“It won’t make any difference. You’re all still going to die.” An adaptation of Newt’s line from Aliens….what a fantastic movie!! Perfection!
i mean from a scientist point view, i can understand them. it would be truly fascinating to discover such a life form and its potential. too bad they are unable to control them
You can’t control what won’t be controlled.
Just because you can do something doesn't mean you *should* -- and one of the more obscure implications of the phrase "knowledge is power" is that knowing when to leave well enough alone is just as important as knowing when to take action. As Sun Tzu says...there are roads which must not be followed, armies which must not be attacked, towns which must not be besieged, positions which must not be contested, commands of the sovereign which must not be obeyed.
R.i.p that guy just wants to tame a Xenomorph Honestly me too even though it would probably end in a very bad way
Love the basketball game from this Was really pushing for Ripley and the Alien in this one
An under rated movie.
OMG I never knew that line about Wal-Mart LOL
Everyone is wrong, I am right. It’s a god damn masterpiece. That is all.
Can’t even hear 👂 it, what good is this??
I saw this in theaters and I have to say it's very entertaining. Of course it's not a masterpiece like the first two, but it's a good film.I liked parts of three as well, but not as much as this one.
I hate three with all the passion. Four was almost a standalone.
At 1:33 did he say Walmart bought out Wayland company?
Yep.
Yes they got bought out Walmart
Hummn, Walmart buyout of Weyland-Yutanni, that would explain alot ! 😁
Yes. The Audio in this Vid sucks so I check the scene elsewhere and he does, indeed, state that Wayland was bought out by Walmart and there are, actually, videos and such delving into the topic more.
KingTrunkzdbz He did.
Two great actors playing the doctors...creepy at its best
@2:40-1 Sigourney’s smile looks like Summer Glau’s. 😊
She's 20% Xenomorph by volume, she's on the telepathic web with the Hive. She ain't all there. Her awareness is diffuse. Just like River Tam.
TEST your video after you upload! The audio is nearly non-existent, even when I turn it on full blast.
Scientists : "If she breeds, she is THOOOOOOT!!!"
