We need other-than-human AI if we want to go where humans by themselves cannot go. Doing research at the Max Planck Institute in Germany, Noemi explains how AI is very similar to human intelligence, mostly because it learns from the existent human databases and errors, but if we want to really make use of this new type of intelligence we need to let it learn on its own. In the meantime AI is here as our assitants and making it possible for us to spend more time on meaningful activities by doing the boring and repetitive ones itself Noémi Éltető is a researcher in artificial intelligence at the Max Planck Institute in Germany. Her studies are based on how humans learn and play games while developing human-inspired artificial intelligence.
Noémi presented her work at more than 10 international conferences, from the United States to Australia, and at universities such as Harvard. She writes articles on human and artificial intelligence. Her aim is to use human intelligence as our best blueprint for inspiration to create artificial intelligence that can generally, safely, and equally serve us all. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx
