    • Okay, I can't sit by without commenting on this anymore. A kitchen sink is intentionally left unknowable because by doing so, it becomes a symbol for subjectivity itself. It's part of the broader argument of the song that 1. our experiences are unique, therefore 2. a human is unique, and therefor 3. has inherent worth. If a kitchen sink is just something you can just google, then uh... by this logic, we're all no more valuable than a few lines on the internet. And that seems kinda terrible... Luckily, Tyler's right. Experience is subjective. And we have *no idea* what he's been through.

  • Lyric: Nobody thinks what I think Nobody dreams when they blink Think things on the brink of blasphemy I'm my own shrink Think things are after me, my catastrophe I'm a kitchen sink You don't know what that means Because a kitchen sink to you Is not a kitchen sink to me, okay, friend? Are you searching for purpose? Then write something, yeah it might be worthless Then paint something then, it might be wordless Pointless curses, nonsense verses You'll see purpose start to surface No one else is dealing with your demons Meaning maybe defeating them Could be the beginning of your meaning, friend Go away Go away Go away Go away Leave me alone Leave me alone Leave me alone Leave me alone Leave me alone Leave me alone Leave me alone Nobody thinks what you think, no one Empathy might be on the brink of extinction They will play a game and say They know what you're going through And I tried to come up with an artistic way to say They don't know you, and neither do I So here's a prime example of a stand up guy Who hates what he believes and loves it at the same time Here's my brother and his head's screwed up But that's alright Time gains momentum the moment when I'm living in 'em I'm winning a momentary sinning a moment passing after A re-beginning moments mending memories Pretending enemies are friend of me, sending me straight to bending me My bad behavior but I bet I could have been a better man Copy and paste caught me, and copy, better rhymes bother me The better the rhythm the badder I am but I bet I'll battle with 'em battle Better I am, gambling man, better bet I am a gambling man, I am? Go away Go away Go away Go away Leave me alone Leave me alone Leave me alone Leave me alone Leave me alone Don't leave me alone Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh

  • coming back to twenty one pilots in 2024.. it’s a full circle moment. i clung to this band like my life source in middle school, then high school came and i pretended to be someone i wasn’t. now i’m back here, it’s been about 7 years, and this album still brings forward so many emotions for me. truly, many of these songs encouraged me to stay alive even on the darkest of days, to look back on this now is almost bittersweet. these songs remind me of that time when i was defeated, but now i’m doing better than i ever could have imagined. thank you tyler joseph for expressing yourself through your art, many of your fans found immense comfort in your vulnerability and hardship. this music will always have a special place in my heart, no matter how old i get, a part of me will always be that 12 year old kid with the weight of the world on their shoulders. |-/

I think it represents that they had a hard time growing up, and they weren't on the right track. if you listen to "Slowtown" You get what im saying. Or they could be playin basbell

Turn up the speed to 2x and attempt that. after a few tries, go back to normal speed. It should now seem much easier. IDK that's how I learned it

  • Here's what Tyler says about the bands logo: “It means Twenty One Pilots, the logo does. Why it means Twenty One Pilots, is it really goes along with one of our songs called "Kitchen Sink". The whole concept of that song is that I feel that humans are always struggling all the time when it comes to purpose, trying to figure out what their purpose is, what purpose even is, what's the point, justifying your own existence. A lot of kids and people my age struggle with "what's the point", and with the logo, what it really means is it's an encouragement. When someone asks me what the logo means to me, the logo means something to me because I made it mean something to me. That's the point. The point is that I created something that only I understand and whether or not I decide to disclose the meaning of it, that's the beginning of purpose for me. The meaning of purpose for me, is by creating something, if it be by writing lyrics, painting a picture, by expressing yourself through art if it's photography or music or theater, or whatever it is. It doesn't have to be artistic, but if you create something and only you know the meaning of it, that's the beginning of purpose for you. When you're in the room by yourself trying to decide whether to stay alive, you can tell yourself "I should probably stay alive because I'm the only one who knows the meaning of that thing", so the logo is an encouragement for people to create. That's what it means.” Tyler is one of the smartest and philosophical people in history, bro

  • I just imagined Blurryface yelling the last "Leave me alone!" and then my brain cut to Tyler in his jumpsuit with colorful tears streaming down his face (like the art work of the self titled album) while he screams "DON'T LEAVE ME ALONE!" Now I'm SHOOKETH.

  • Kitchen Sink ~ Lyrics ~ Twenty One Pilots [Instrumental Intro] [Verse 1: Tyler Joseph] Nobody thinks what I think Nobody dreams when they blink Think things on the brink of blasphemy I'm my own shrink Think things are after me, my catastrophe At my kitchen sink You don't know what that means Because a kitchen sink to you is not a kitchen sink to me Okay, friend? Are you searching for purpose? Then write something, yeah it might be worthless Then paint something, and it might be wordless Pointless curses, nonsense verses You'll see purpose start to surface No one else is dealing with your demons, meaning Maybe defeating them could be the beginning of your meaning, friend [Chorus: Tyler] Go away, go away, go away, go away Leave me alone, leave me alone, leave me alone, leave me alone Leave me alone, leave me alone, leave me alone [Verse 2: Tyler] Nobody thinks what you think, no one Empathy might be on the brink of extinction They will play a game and say they know what you're going through And I tried to come up with an artistic way to say they don't know you And neither do I, so here's a prime example of a stand up guy who Hates what he believes and loves it at the same time Here's my brother, and his head's screwed up, but that's all right [Bridge: Zack Joseph] Time gains momentum the moment when I'm living in 'em I'm winning a momentary sinning a moment passing after A re-beginning moments mending memories Pretending enemies are frenemies, sending me straight to bending me My bad behavior but I bet I could have been a better man Copy and paste caught me, and copy, better rhymes bother me The better the rhythm the badder I am but I bet I'll battle with 'em battle Better I am, gambling man, better bet I am a gambling man, I am? [Chorus: Tyler] Go away, go away, go away, go away Leave me alone, leave me alone, leave me alone, leave me alone [Outro: Tyler] Leave me alone Don't leave me alone Courtesy of Genius.com ~ genius.com/Twenty-one-pilots-kitchen-sink-lyrics

  • I don't know if this is true or not but I read somewhere what the meaning of this song is. Tyler said that the band symbol I-/ is supposed to mean kitchen sink. I was so confused until I learned that there is a way to hang yourself by tying the noose to the kitchen sink and leaning forward. That's like I is the sink, - is the rope, and / is Tyler. Dark but it might work. "Because a kitchen sink to you is not a kitchen sink to me."

  • This song, and honestly all of early tøp and Tyler’s old solo music, changed meaning for me but it’s always been so significant I was in 5th grade when I found their music. I was obsessed, it was the only thing I talked about. Back then it was just music that sounded nice. Now? Now it’s nostalgia. It’s what I use when I want to go back.

  • I still can't wrap my mind around how beautiful this song is. I remember having to use generators to rip it off of a single youtube link to put it on my iPod in 2011 and hearing it live on the ERS tour was nothing short of amazing. Better yet, it was the first night and no one knew it was going to happen. I'm pretty sure my heart stopped beating when it first came on. Ugh. I love this song so much.

And if it were not for this song i would not have the friends that I have now. That's why I love Twenty One Pilots.

  • This song saved my life. Literally. As Tyler sings "Don't Leave Me Alone," he looks so broken. Every time I cry when I hear this. It reminds me of my demons, my depression, my mutilations and I feel like... less alone, like I feel Tyler next to me, a reassuring presence even if his voice sounds so heartbreaking. Since I know Twenty One Pilots I realized how bad I was, I realized that what I felt was more than sadness or anger, it was more like what Tyler expresses in his songs, depression. Stay Alive |-/

  • The true meaning of this song is truly depressing the fact that he is referring to in the lyrics in the song “I’m at my kitchen sink you don’t know what that means because a kitchen sink to you is not a kitchen to me okay friend?” That is referring to the time he attempted to kill himself at his kitchen sink I’m surprised a lot of people didn’t notice this but for those who didn’t know here is the true meaning
