    • Billie eilish didn’t queer bait (as a gay/bi person) the song she wrote was about wishing someone was gay… just cos it wasn’t in that why doesn’t mean she can’t name a song that

      @Nova_sisj@Nova_sisj6 ай бұрын
    • @@Nova_sisjYeah, that queerbaiting conversation rubbed me the wrong way, I'm so done with that topic in online queer spaces. Ariana literally said she really doesn't know what she is after being called out again for the lyrics "I like women and men" in her song Monopoly with Victoria Monet, lyrics that Victoria, who's openly bi, is the one singing them not Ariana but people still wanted to call her out, y'all know how Twitter Gays are. And Billie has given many clues she could be queer, maybe to test the waters or maybe cause she's not ready yet to say it in public, and the fact that people think she's baiting is probably heartbreaking. I don't like this faux dichotomy of you're either straight or openly queer in the industry, let artists explore themselves in their art, let them be subtle, give them space to understand themselves and learn that NOBODY, whether a public figure or not, owes you a coming out. This harmful rethoric made a main Heartstopper actor came out as bi after he was harassed in public for dating a woman "and being a het actor" when playing a queer character, and he was just 19 at the time, he didn't deserve that

  • I initially thought Maura was the mole when she said that she was the oldest of the group but didn’t know the terms “Bottom, Top, Verse” etc… despite these terms having been around in the LGBT community for decades. It was when she started talking about the struggles her “wife” went through and became emotional when talking about it that made me think she was actually a lesbian. I was convinced by the end that Maya would be the mole because she mostly used stereotypes when answering questions and made the “Too pretty to be a lesbian” comment regarding Mars, which was surprising to hear someone who is a lesbian say, especially as it’s a term that is heavily disliked by the lesbian community.

    @brandonh7980@brandonh7980Ай бұрын
  • "She's too pretty to be a lesbian" "She's looks too straight" "I look so gay, how could you vote me off?" The lgbt+ community has created way more stereotypes for themselves than the straights did for them which is so ironic and infuriating. • Yep, and when she was like "I'm a gold star lesbian" as if that makes her more of a lesbian 🙄Like you said, I know this game kind of forces people to rely on stereotypes but its still frustrating to see people resort to these kind of characteristics as proof that they're part of the community

    • Butch/Soft butch was a thing in the past but Masc is the new/softer thing now so I understand why that could get past their radar. Honestly this is our fault for letting people forget butches/softbutches. I don't like Masc because bisexuals use that a lot. I want a lesbian only description of myself.
