  • Julie to Ethan in the RV season 1 episode 1 after killing Norman "Sorry buddy, when you're dead, you don't get to come back". I feel that line means more than originally thought

    @donnamariebier5309@donnamariebier530910 ай бұрын
    • I think almost every conversation between anyone and Ethan is worth paying careful attention to, with lines meaning more than they might originally seem to mean. With that in mind, I didn't think any of the theories in this video sounded convincing at all (especially the "seven deadly sins" theory, which really seems like a stretch to me), except possibly the "Matrix" theory: A whole lot of the supernatural elements we see in that town seem to come down to one or both of two things: either figments of the (mostly adult) characters' fears, suspicions, pains, and regrets materializing in one form or another, or figments of the (generally childlike) characters' fantasy stories, drawings, and imagination materializing in one form or another (or, at least, many of the otherwise mysterious and fantastical elements seem like they could have come right out of the imagination e.g. Ethan, Victor, or Victor's sister, such as the lighthouse, the "castle" with the old man locked in the dungeon, and so on....) I don't think the characters are literally in a "simulation" or "matrix", so much as they seem to have traveled out of the normal world, into a sort of "Twilight Zone" where the things a character imagines hard enough become real - not necessarily BAD things, but it's bad things these characters are running into for the most part, in no small part because they've been scared out of their minds since the moment they stepped into town, where the character who seems to have been there the longest - the damaged and child-like Victor - has been experiencing a never-ending living nightmare almost entirely alone (when he isn't among short-lived victims) for decades: naturally they're thinking and dreaming of terrifying things! One can't help wondering if things might have played out differently, had a happier, healthier, more well-adjusted child been "in charge of things" in that town when everyone else arrived, instead. Whatever the "matrix" is, I don't think it's a literal computer simulation, and I don't think there are any "unseen entities" running it: it seems like time runs pretty predictably within the town, even if it's not necessarily parallel to time in the "real world", the characters age, there seems to have been cycles where characters appear in town in batches from different periods of history (apparently Victor arrived in the '70s or '80s with a large number of other victims - many of the cars seem to date to that era, and monster clothing styles as well - and there seem to have been characters from earlier eras as well, such as the civil war soldiers from the visions and so on.) I think the town - or the land, anyway - is a special place that is "activated" by characters who come upon it, with disastrous results for anyone who doesn't figure out how the area's rules work, and cannot stop conjuring monsters out of their own deepest fears. And so, the "unseen entities controlling the town" are, I think, characters we've already met, controlling the area's super-power generally by accident (although finding out that someone - say, Victor's missing sister - is deliberately abusing that power to conjure horrible monsters and so on, could be quite a dramatic plot twist!) Anyway, that line about people not being able to come back is a good catch, and it seems to me that it's worth binge-watching the show again to pay more attention to everything other characters say to Ethan, including those weird and creepy little fantasy stories/fairy tales he seems to enjoy (and take very seriously!) I'm pretty sure those stories parallel the fantastical elements the characters keep encountering, and are going to be pretty important to the bigger story....

  • also unrelated to these theories but i have heard a lot of people think Tabatha travelled back in time when she wakes up in hospital. Also lots of questions about time running linear with FROM town but i dont think either is possible, even though the bracelet Tabitha found was a bracelet she made for Jim and Jim lost it on Tabitha's day of birth. That's the only thing that gets me. When Mariel comes she says to Christy they have been looking for here for 6 moths or so and Cristy said she has not been there a year. So i think time runs linear plus i think it would have been talked about amongst the town people before this show even took place. they have a map of where people came from. lets go back to Tabitha at the hospital when she wakes from falling form the tower. she looks around the room and that monitor is 100% up-to-date modern. I have a feeling we are in the kids dream or he is in a comma or something. maybe even someone else. they left it so we can only imagine!!! lol cant wait but i sure can wait i dont want this year to fly by but i really want to see the next season!!!

  • Sometimes, unresolved mysteries and unanswered questions can be a deliberate part of the show's theme or a way to keep viewers guessing and theorizing. In such cases, fans may engage in discussions, share theories, and hunt for additional clues within the show to try and piece together the larger puzzle but just a puzzle that never ends.

  • Idk about the first theory. They didn’t try to linger on the window or zoom in on the face or any of the little camera tricks directors use to draw your attention to something. I think it was just Tabitha’s reflection. Yeah sometimes they put stuff in they don’t want you to notice but that usually isn’t right in the middle of the screen. I think we were just suppose to notice the town but this show is crazy so I am prepared to eat my words lol

      @BEYONDPREMIERE@BEYONDPREMIERE10 ай бұрын
    • Why would they want you to see the town with the reflection. It adds nothing, cost a CGI fortune, and is a clue. It's just not Tabitha's reflection. If you watch the scene and look at nothing but the reflection you will see the blonde woman and her head moves differently than Tabitha's. Plus there is no motion in the town and when the camera looks at Tabitha from outside the window there is no harbor noise. Plus the reflection defies the law of physics, for the sun is shining on her face and thus would have no reflection.

  • "Breaking down the esoteric message embedded in the show is what the show is all about." This suggests that the primary focus of the show is the exploration and interpretation of hidden or mysterious messages within its narrative or symbolism. "When and if we ever get to the final episode and learn all the answers will fall flat like the old saying the journey is better than the destination."

    @REALDUDEUNIVERSE@REALDUDEUNIVERSE8 ай бұрын
    • I think you raise a great point about how FROM seems to prioritize the fan experience of analyzing and decoding the show's symbolic meanings over definitive answers. The sheer amount of speculative discussion and theories generated by each episode shows how the writers have crafted a show meant to keep viewers constantly engaged in interpretation.

      @BEYONDPREMIERE@BEYONDPREMIERE8 ай бұрын
  • Though I don't think it's likely, my favorite theory is Sluagh. Sluagh are an exceptionally cruel fae in Irish/Scottish culture. I know this all seems to take place in the USA but hear me out haha. So fae in general are known for creating portals into pocket dimensions. In my theory, the tree that everyone encounters in the road may be a fallen/cut down faraway tree and why it's always the first thing people see, and once they see it, they're stuck in this "pocket dimension." (I know that the tree isn't necessarily in one specific place as people encounter it all over the country but eh haha) Sluagh are said to be able to take the form of a bird so I think during the day, the monsters may be the crows and watch them? I know the sleeping ones in the tunnels kinda messes with this theory but I digress. Sluagh apparently prefer to hide in dark, forgotten places during the day. When they're in their more human form, it is said that they look "old, thin, and haggard with elongated limbs ending in sharp claws, and have sharp protruding teeth like a beak" which definitely reminds me of their natural form. The form we often see that looks like a normal human could be a glamour? I also think the "fallen faraway tree" could be a great indicator as to why they started this cycle to begin with. They use the trees as means of transport - perhaps they opened one in a forest near a little town and the residents of said town cut down the faraway tree and they got big mad. "In the form of a vast flock of black ravens twined about with undulating shadows they came, the echoes of their wings being found in stories of ill-omened birds heralding bad times ahead. The truly broken hearted might be attacked, or the foolish or unlucky might call them upon themselves by uttering the name Sluagh nine times over and over, pronounced sloo-ah for fear you might say it yourself, perhaps in a fit of sneezing. Upon closer inspection the great birds look more like wretched thin shades of their previous selves, with gnarled talons like the blackthorn's boughs for hands and feet, and wings of dusky smoke." (so yeah we haven't seen the wings of dusty smoke but eh) Sluagh are notoriously violent and cruel towards humans, they enjoy the hunt (associated with "the wild hunt") and essentially toying with them. Due to the tales of these creatures, older folk in the countryside still keep windows on the west side of their house fastened at all times, especially in times of sickness or sorrow as they're said to feed off the souls of the sad and dying but will take any soul that crosses their path (maybe they're making a deal with Sarah or the entity interacting with her is just messing with her weaknesses or something else entirely. "If denied their rightful - as they see it - feast, they don't balk at the slaughter of cattle, cats, dogs, and sheep with their poison darts. It is said that the Sluagh 'commanded men to follow them, and men obeyed, having no alternative. It was these men of earth who slew and maimed at the bidding of their spirit-masters, who in return ill-treated them in a most pitiless manner. They would be rolling and dragging and trouncing them in mud and mire and pools.'" maybe ties into Sarah or her future?) Also, I think it being a pocket dimension created by fae to toy and torture people would almost make sense of certain things - such as the electricity. They wouldn't know how it actually works so they just made up the closest they could observe. And they also wouldn't want their toys to just.. die? That's their job so that's why they send in goats and chickens? Then they start getting mad when the humans actually fight back so they start taking away their "gifts" or "boons". As far as the ending of season two.. it kinda starts punching a few holes in my theory but time will tell. Or it won't haha. I don't think Tabitha is back in the real world.. I know people have been telling me to get my eyes checked and to watch in 4K but it just doesn't look like her to me in the reflection. Her overall face just looks different, or as you said, distorted. Also as a quick point, to me, the symbol that keeps appearing almost look like the roots of the tree of life (maybe referencing the underworld ooorrr like.. alternate lives/parallel universes crossing paths) but I'm probably wrong and stretching too far with that one but eh. "Fae" also has multiple meanings - aside from referring to faeries, it can also be used to indicate the distance between two things or places. Fromville = Fairyland? hahah A final point I want to bring up: the children repeatedly say "Anghkooey." This doesn't mean anything in the real world buuuuut could hint at Ankou, a Celtic figure who is said to personify death and take spirits of the dead to hell. Perhaps while Victor was a child, the town got together and decided to try sacrificing kids to Ankou to be freed from the dimension? Or maybe it happened well before Victor's family ever arrived and his mom was just seeing the same entities as Tabitha was. Doesn't cover why the children look like they suffered radiation damage.. honestly the town could just be an accident the government or some other force created and tried to nuke, idk. I prefer fairy theory hahah. Annnd another quick read I found interesting: "The sluagh, or fairy host, is known by several names in Gaelic, all of which give us some clue as to their nature or origin. Lewis Spence calls them the sluagh eotrom, meaning the ‘light’ or ‘aery’ host. This may reflect their flight through the air, or even their physical nature. The Reverend Kirk, meanwhile, distinguishes between the sluagh saoghalta and the sluagh sith. The latter is the ‘fairy host’ and the former the ‘secular’ or ‘worldly’ host. If we understand that ‘sluagh’ more broadly denotes people or population, this makes sense of what Kirk says next: “Souls goe to the Sith when dislodged.” In other words, once earthly people die, they join the fairy host instead We can learn something more from actual experiences of contact with the host. John MacPhee of Uist was outside his house one night when he heard a sound coming from the West (a notoriously fay direction) like the breaking of the sea. He saw a mass of small men coming in a crowd from that direction and suddenly felt hot, as if a crowd of people had surrounded him and were pressing in, breathing upon him ... After this experience, MacPhee became sickly and thin. The man was evidently ‘elf-addled:’ he suffered some of the typical physical effects of fairy contact and, although the author of the account refers to the host as ‘the dead,’ their living physicality seems very much to contradict this description." (britishfairies.wordpress.com/2020/02/02/carried-away-flying-with-the-sluagh/) Alright I'm done, have a nice day hahah.

I believe this message is actually for Victors Sister who followed their mom when their mom was on their way to the tower but got killed before entering the bottles tree but contrary to their mother Victors sister made through and is probably currently in the exact same place Tabitha is right now. Tabitha knows all This and once she sees that victors launch box made it through as well she will know that Victor send her there on purpose and there will be a message their for his sister. You may ask me why did Victor sent Tabitha there and not Victor went there by himself well the answer I don’t really know but I do know that when Victor was asked if he really wanted to get out of that place he said “this place is home” which clearly indicates he has a reason to not leave this place and so he couldn’t go himself he had to send someone to get his sister back as he is supposed to protect her like his mother said. And forces of good snd evil are st eork in the town. I could piont out severls mentions of this in the show. With victor having memories he didnt thing were real. And jade seeing things that victors sister drew from their mothers story. But moving on. Listen to the dtory ethan told in rhe first episide. Victor is the lonely dragon. The truck where he jas his little hide out is rhe cavern of the lonely dragon. And there is a map on the wall he drew. Which has zodiac killer logos all over it. I also saw those samw logos on drawings of rhe boogey man. Then when ethan wakes up after the car accident. He said he saw rhe rainbow sky, the lake of tears and he "heard a scream when a spider come down from rhe cieling". We have seen victors drawings of giant spiders. Boyd being in theri lair. Ans then diring the same scene with ethan in the car accident, christy has that dream where dude takes down rhe rock. Ans one of rhe monsters comes down from the ceiling, and she screams. A lot of references to dreams in the show. I think the peope scrually contirl in a sense, what goes on there without knowing it. And them tabitha had rhe same dream of jim coming down from rhe ceiling. What is rhe connection between rhe monsters and spiders ? Are they the spiders ? What are rhe monsters? They act like vampires but christy describes them as mummies. But there is one question not a single damn person has asked through all of this? When victor was a child, the motel sign worked. Also in rhe truck, he the year 1978 wrote on it. In the scenes as vic as s child. Everything jn rhe town looked prettt new or maintained. As an adult, the motel sign is broken and everything is aged. And the name of the motel was called "star magic". But here is the question no person has asked. The pool is there. The sign is there. Where the hell is the motel? Underground ? Or is the colony house and the town itself the motel ?

  • the creators of the show do have a clue whats going on. 2 seasons and no real answers , the show is too short 10 episodes , so they can get away with not having any answers
