Using the Bushcraft water wheel again, has always been a dream of mine on the new property. There is the perfect stream for it, but this is just step one the self-sufficiency in power from a water wheel and best part is the excess water can be used to fire up the wood, fired hot tub.

  • You’re getting 5 gallons in 12 seconds which equates to 1.5L/second. P = m(mass flow rate) x g(constant gravity 9.81) x Hnet (head pressure X .9 for friction) x .75 (efficiency) Gives us right around 40watts of constant power. That constant power is plenty to charge a small battery bank that can run plenty of items Independently.

  • T-Piece into the drain and you can bottom up fill the tub with an exit valve, that can feed your sluse for the power wheel...... Just regulate the drain out to sluse, and the tub will stay full but drain water without overspill... Add a tap on the tub side so you can stop the influx of fresh water when its hot so you dont lose the heat when in use.

  • Have you thought about a line water filter to clean that water up some, Its pretty brown. Also If you dug out where the water enters your pipe you could create a water fall and add a water wheel that powers a small water pump to increase your flow rate to the hot tub.

  • Im dissapointed. you are smarter then this. why not put the hot tub closer to the tent you are using in the winter? that way you could have the stove inside the tent and heat both the tent and the hot tub at the same time. that would be so freaking cool. and still have the rotater thing close to it all. well you could build a new chelter close to the hot tub instead. but I guess you understand what Im trying to say. But I love your videos and your positivity. it have helped me thrue many hard times. all love to you. continue your amazing work on youtube

Think of it like a bank account, never deplete your account below 85%. Im been dabling in alternative energy for yrs & still a novice.. Great build tho..love the vid 👍👍👍👍👍

  • so, i might be wrong for thinking this way but. citys have water towers for the reason of pumping water up to the tank for water pressure right. gravity. one gal of water weight is around 8 lbs . so is it 8 psi per foot? at 10ft? anyway as for a generator you can always use gear ratio to increase rpm you know big wheel turning slow to small wheel going fast

  • I didn’t fully check the math but 16.8 Watts is a unit of power, not energy. Power is a continuous rate not a quantity. A common unit of energy is watt hours or kilowatt hours (kWh is the energy most people are familiar with from the power company). So assuming your other math is right in 24 hours you’d generate roughly 400 Watt hours of energy or .4 kWh not 400 watts. That’s about 8 cents worth of power from the grid :D

Ephesian 1:4 "For he chose us in him before the creation of the world" Matthew11:28-30 28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” I know the wait of years alone stacking up like brick on your chest. This shoukd not be we were designed by a lovung God for more then this pain of lonlyeness. Thats why He sent his son Jesus to die for you and i and open a door to relationship with Him. Seak Jesus ask Him and he will make himself known to you and bring you peace and joy more real then anythung this world has to offer.
